Alexis and Frigga walked into primary sickbay. Alexis was a bit of a control freak. She figured primary sickbay would be better for her medical check in. Whoever had taken her place when she was reassigned didn’t need to have Alexis nitpicking the changes. Alexis new she was that way and though she didn’t mean harm by it her attitude rubbed people the wrong way. She waited while the system scanned and cleared her to enter. She stepped through and approached the desk. “Lt Bonner. I need my medical onboarding. Though I’ve had one in the last year, I just returned from detached assignment. Is anyone available?” She stopped herself from offering to do the exam herself. That was just showing off. She had to think really hard not to actually make that offer. She pulled a PaDD out of her bag and sat down to read the latest science research journal, trying to catch up on her reading while she’d been away.

The Bolian nurse behind the desk looked up and greeted her with a wide, “Welcome on the Ogawa,” he greeted her cheerfully. “Doctor Tija is available. The petite redhead over there,” Sal continued as he gestured towards the doctor in question who seemed to be filing some reports on a nearby station. “Why don’t you have a seat on one of the empty biobeds and I’ll let her know. Okay?”

NE Sal Tadonar, Nurse

Alexis nodded. She remembered Sal but hadn’t worked with him much, really none at all. She’d simply written his duty schedule as part of her work for Dr Walker. She was glad to see so much of the crew was still here. “Thank you very much.” Alexis moved over to the biobed and sat down. She’d met Tija briefly in passing but couldn’t recall much more than she was a visitor on board at the time and on leave.

“Wonderful,” Sal replied an then hurried over to Aizala, who reached for a PaDD and called up Alexis’ file immediately as she walked over to her.

“Welcome back, Doctor Bonner,” Aizala greeted her warmly. As always her red hair was pulled back in a neat ponytail, leaving both her earring and the scar along her hairline clearly visible. Glancing down at her file, she skimmed quickly through it. When she looked up again, she asked, “Is there anything I should be aware off? Anything that may not be in your file?” There was a gentle warmth about her, despite her straightforward way of taking care of boarding evaluations.

~Lt. Tija, Doctor

“Dr Tija, it’s good to see you.” And Alexis supposed it was. She liked working with other medical professionals, and she felt like those on Ogawa were some of the best. “It should be in my file, but it’s new since I was here last. I sprained the tendons in my wrist and cracked my elbow. It’s all healed up and was taken care of. No pain, no weakness, no numbness.”

Aizala nodded and made a mental note of it before asking her next set of questions. “How have you been sleeping over the past several weeks? Have you been eating regularly and drinking enough water? And or have there been any changes in your sleeping and eating habits?“ she asked matter-of-factly. She wasn’t being nosy after all, just making sure that she wouldn’t miss anything.

~Lt. Tija, Doctor

Alexis took a deep breath; she couldn’t say what she’d been doing or where. “Normal for me, yes. It’s in my file. I tend to miss meals and lose sleep when I’m focused on my work. But I can say the last two weeks, I have had plenty of sleep and not missed any meals and I should be very well hydrated.” Thank goodness for her pre established habits and Frigga. Mostly Frigga. She made sure Alexis took breaks, ate, and played. But Alexis had worked non-stop on the project to get away from Soulis. And when she finished, she had made a deal with a lesser devil to ensure she never had to work with him again.
Bonner

Nodding again, Aizala gave her gentle smile. “You aren’t the only one who does that,” she replied kindly. “As I’m sure you know. Depending on my work, I can be same. I found that having a large bottle of water close by and a reminder for meals helps with that. But that varies from person to person of course. Just try to make sure that you don’t miss too many meals or too much sleep, okay?” she continued as she put the PaDD aside.

~Lt. Tija, Doctor

Alexis nodded. “Of course, I’ll be sure to do both.” Now that she was back on Ogawa she’d have to make those things a priority. She’d let those go in favor of finishing the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. To get away from the nightmare that the last months had become. It was one reason she was glad to be out of sickbay and into the labs full time. She could follow the rabbit hole as far as it went and not have to come out to deal with people. She needed work and solitude. She would have to check about a schedule for Frigga as well. But that would probably fall under counseling. “Anything else?” Alexis wasn’t really in a hurry and being a fellow doctor she was willing to let the exam be more extensive just because than other patients might be.

“Good,” Aizala replied with a soft smile and then shook her head. “No, I’m just going to scan you and if all comes back fine, you’re free to go,” she continued as she reached for the tricorder in her hip holster. Flipping it open, she took the small probe into her right hand and then began to slowly and methodically scan Alexis from crown to toe.

~Lt. Tija, Doctor

The tricorder would show exactly as Alexis had reported, a repaired wrist and elbow strain, some fatigue, and a slightly lower than normal for her blood sugar but not alarming, but well hydrated.

Saving the data, Aizala closed the tricorder again and returned it to her hip holster. “Your blood sugar levels are a little low. Not alarmingly so. But I want you to try and eat more regularly. Maybe even have small snack at your workstation. Something that won’t leave crumbs or potentially contaminate your work, of course.”

~Lt. Tija, Doctor

Alexis nodded, “Lunch is actually my next stop, and I’ll be sure to keep something at my desk.” That wasn’t actually likely to happen, no food or drink in the labs, but she’d keep something close by.
Lt Bonner, med research

“Good,” Aizala replied and took a step to the side so that she wouldn’t stand in Alexis way. “From my end you are cleared for duty Lieutenant. And if you don’t have any questions or something you’d like to talk about, you are free to leave.”

~Lt. Tija, Doctor

Alexis smiled slightly. “No that was all, Lt. Thank you.” Alexis hopped off the bio bed, Frigga following behind. She’d have to find time to bring her back for a physical as well, but her records were up to date so they should be okay. Alexis headed out of sickbay and headed for the counseling suite for her next check in.
