The large modular space was most definitely cavernous. In fact, it echoed a bit as she moved about in her leather sandals. But most days, and especially at this time, the Triage Deck had one thing going for it that they needed: it was empty.

“GALEN, create a notification program to route any urgent calls or notifications of an emergency directed to myself and Captain Taylor to us here and not to our combadges.”

=^= Of Course Commander. However I am obligated to remind you that ship systems and interface work better with the comm badges attached to you. =^=

“That’s the point,” Myqian said cheekily. Haivng a battle of wits with an AI was a bad idea, but the system was a learning AI and thus would quickly get to know her particular brand of humour. Or not. Who knew.

“And GALEN, also create a dampening space where in a five metre space around me,” Dira said as she laid down some thick blankets, before spreading out a thinner flannel blanket on the deck. After all, a picnic this might be, but a soft ground the bare deck was not.

The computer worked a few seconds. =^= Dampening space created commander. Would you like me to send your location to Captain Taylor.=^=

“Yes, please. Thank you GALEN,” Dira said.

After agreeing to the 2000 hour working dinner, Dira had later messaged Willow and suggested they do their best to hide. Dinner would have to be somewhere unexpected or else neither of them were going to get any work, or chatting, done without someone showing up with a report or an issue that really could wait till the morning. She told Willow to bring some food to share (Dira would too), her work and ditch the uniform.

In a generous jersey skirt to her ankles in black, Dira wore a loose white blouse with a frilly open collar in a vibrant flower print in green, purple and yellow. Kicking off her sandals to the side of the blanket, she stepped onto the blanket and wiggled her brown toes into the soft material. Ahhh! It felt so good after a day in boots, even if said boots were well broken in and comfortable.

Settling cross-legged, she set her sturdy shoulder bag to the side on the left and the soft-shelled cooler to the right. Grabbing a PADD (one of many reports she had to read, reply to or sign off on), she settled in to the work portion of the evening.

Willow arrived dressed in a white Henley shirt and light blue trousers. Her short red hair was pushed up and back from her face with a light blue headband. Red old school converse on her feet. She carried a large basket with her. “Interesting choice of space…anyone would think we were hiding out.” She grinned

Dira placed a finger to her lips. “Shhhh! They’ll find us,” she said with a wink. The XO patted the layers of blankets. “Take a seat and tell me your day was slightly less chaotic than mine? I know it’s early days but I’m starting to miss being a therapist.” She was joking… mostly.
