Octavia blushed, “Oh I’m no doctor, not yet anyways! I haven’t earned the right to wear the long lab coats yet!” The young Trill considered his original comment, was she considering alternatives to medicine. “I love medicine, perhaps to much for my own health but its good to have back up plans oh and to handle a phaser”

Kyle grinned and unhitched the patrol belt attached to his waist, “Try her out, see how it feels.” Anders could tell she was nervous so made sure to double check the setting on the phaser, recalling an incident back in the Academy in which a young Kyle had nearly opened fire on his whole cadet squad.

Octavia looked at the patrol belt dangling from his hand and the phaser the was holsters in it. Did he want her to take the phaser or the whole belt? She figured she was over thinking it, like most things and look the belt from him.
It was heavier than she thought it would be, like with it came some weird weighted pressure. “It’s heavy” she said as she donned the belt ad he had, weirdly after a slight adjustment it felt comfortable despite the weight. Her fingers laced the phaser but she didn’t take it out, the last thing she’d want to do is shoot the very person she was enjoying the company with.

“Why don’t we see how you hold yourself with one of those,” Kyle said with a cheeky grin, “I can show you the phaser training range on the Holodeck if you like?”

The young Trills jaw gaped “Really?” She asked, she was required to do some basic security and security training but that was required until later on in her semester. She considered a moment and then nodded, “That would be awesome.” She bit the inside of her cheek before then refocusing herself “Urm Yes Lieutenant.” She was still after all wanting to graduate.

“Telll you what, I’ll talk to Lieutenant Havan when I next see her and see if I can get you on our next training session.” Kyle wasn’t sure whether the CoS would go for the idea of a civillian medical student being given a phaser to operate, but he could see that Octavia was eager, so made sure to make a note of it for later.

Again Octavia beamed, “That sounds great!” In her moment of weakness and self-confidence, “Maybe in the meantime, you’d like to go to the holodeck or the mess hall with me?” She blushed clearly beyond herself, this was the Raain, the Symbiote guiding her. Octavia was longing for friendship and Kyle boasted confidence which apparently was something Raain liked. Holding her hand to her head Octavia groaned. The conflicting thoughts were difficult to comprehend and often caused heacahes. “Sorry!” She apologised.

Kyle chuckled, “Of course, in fact, I know someone I think you’d like to meet. She may be able to help you with your studies,” he mimed a ‘one-sec’ gesture with his finger and tapped his combadge, “=^= Anders to Doctor Viasse, could you meet me in the mess hall at your earliest convenience? =^=”
