CSO Quarters - Home Sweet Home... (Tag Bonner)

Kane walked along Deck Three of the Ogawa before he reached the forward section. There, at the front of the ship and just to the starboard side, was a door with ‘Chief Science Officer - Lt. Kane‘ glowing softly in blue letters on a small display by the door. Kane walked up to the door and it slid open silently and he walked inside.

The room was bigger and was laid out to be more open. A seating area and work station, along with a small dining area stood ready for Kane to come in and decorate as he saw fit. He nodded and then tapped his commbadge. =/\= Lieutenant Bonner to the CSO quarters. =/\= was all he said as he walked around and took in the new space.

Kane, CSO

Alexis looked up from where she was working, behind the visual distortion field, ear buds blocking the noise, but filtering in certain sounds. CSO quarters? What fresh annoyance was this? And she knew it was Solomon, she knew his voice. What were they in trouble for now? Really? The messed up tritanium slips was not her fault, and that’s why they did the test run first. The programming was being fixed. =/\=On my way.=/\= and she tapped her combadge to close the connection. Very carefully she put things away. It took longer than her normal efficiency because the materials were delicate and required special handling. Then locking her station down she looked at the clock. Frigga was still with counseling for another 2 hours. Whatever this was, hopefully Alexis would be finished in time to go get her. “GALEN where are the CSO’s quarters?” “DECK 3 STARBOARD FORWARD SECTION.”

Alexis approached the door and pressed the chime. She’d had no problem with the previous CSO. He was a very informed individual and good at his job. She hadn’t heard that he’d been replaced yet, and had no idea why such an individual would want to see her and Solomon in their quarters no less.

The door slid open to reveal the empty-ish room and Kane standing in the middle of it, arms crossed and his typical scowl. He turned slightly, looking at her through the hair falling across his face, and he said “I can’t figure out where Frigga’s bed is going to go. Not to mention all your damn PaDDs.” he said sternly.

Kane, CSO

Alexis stepped into the room and glanced around quickly before her gaze landed on him. No one else was in the room, and she walked up beside him. Frigga’s bed and her damn PaDDs? Well she knew she wasn’t the new CSO so that meant…well that explained the scowl on his face. She wondered what Taylor said because Taylor could order Solomon till she was blue in the face. That didn’t mean he would ‘hop to’ as the saying went. “My PaDDs will stay at my work station, like they are now.” Of course that didn’t mean the styluses wouldn’t follow her back, and knowing Alexis she’d drag home an endless amount of PaDDs without realizing it. “And Frigga’s bed should go in the bedroom, or she’ll be on our bed every night, all night, and never get out of the way.” And they both also knew that if her bed wasn’t on his side of the bed, Frigga would sit and stare and whine at him all night. She looked around again, she didn’t know what he was scowling about, there was plenty of room. “I’m just wondering where you’re going to put the hidden liquor cabinet?”

Bonner

“Department head now… I don’t have to hide it.” he replied flatly. “Well.... s#!+. I guess we need to go pack. Plus side: I doubt anyone is gonna surprise in here. Lot more traffic and security in the halls here.” and he shrugged. Turning to look at her, he said “You go get whatever remains in your old room, bring it here. I’ll clear out the other. Leave your door open when you go if you are nervous, okay? Take Frigga with you.”

Kane, CSO

Alexis looked over at him one brow raised. They needed to ‘pack’. She supposed so. It wasn’t like either of them had a whole lot. In fact her things were still the bags she’d packed them in. It wasn’t that she didn’t know they were living together, but the routine of keeping her things all in once place, to prevent clutter, had already been established before Solomon told her he wanted her to stay. Her eyes scanned the room again, but never truly rising than slightly above floor level. There were a lot of windows. She turned her back on them, “Frigga’s working for another hour or so.” At least that meant ‘packing’ was easier. She was pretty sure there was nothing left in her old quarters after they had gone the second time. It wouldn’t hurt to check though. She nodded, half distracted her mind going over the work she’d been doing before she left the lab. “I’ll leave the door open.”

Alexis approached the door to her quarters. They were still hers, technically. She pressed the control and the doors slid open on the soft swish of a sigh. Stepping in she reached over and pressed the control, locking the door open. She stood just inside the door way and looked around. She’d liked these quarters when they’d been assigned to her. Smaller than the quarters she’d had as AMO and on a different deck, but they were functional and had no windows because they were on the interior of the deck. The area was empty, nothing left. Not that there had been much before. She didn’t want to stay there longer than necessary, so she moved over to the work station, there were no strange creepy messages waiting this time. She checked each drawer and self and between the cushions of the chair and couch. Behind the couch she found one of Frigga’s long lost toys. A never stuffed, very flat Christmas penguin. It was stuffed with a crinkly material that Frigga adored. She would shake it for minutes on end just to hear the noise it made. Moving into the bedroom she checked the closet and on the shelf, under the bed, the dresser, and the bedside table. Then the bathroom where she found a stray stylus. She was sure Solomon would be thrilled to know there was yet another one. That made her smile. She removed the soap and shampoo and returned it to the recycler. She already had more and didn’t need it. Then she did one more look around before leaving.
