Alexis shook her head. “It cost 1 credit for five of them. She has more. I just keep them out of reach or she would leave them scattered all over the ship.” She seemed distracted but in actuality she was considering Cai. She nodded in agreement. “I know where we can go.” Maybe Solomon was rubbing off on her, but the way Taylor was holding her arms made Alexis think that a drink might be in order. She wasn’t sure though, but even Alexis knew that wanting to talk somewhere else meant Taylor wanted privacy.
They took the lift to deck 3, forward starboard section. Alexis approached the door, the sign read Lt. Solomon Kane, CSO. The door slid open, lights on full, and she stepped inside. All the windows were closed and the quarters were empty. “Please have a seat, Cpt. I don’t really know about making a drink choice, or what all is in the cabinet, but would you like something or from the replicator?”

Willow followed quietly, she hesitated a moment outside the door to Kane’s quarters. She didn’t want to think she was intruding on the lives of her officers, but she out that aside and stepped over the threshold. “Tea…would be great thanks.” She said looking around for somewhere to sit. She lowered her self onto the nearest chair and suddenly seemed very aware that she was in her workout gear. She gave a rueful smile.
“You know, they always tell you not to show weakness in front of your crew. But I wonder if they mean don’t be mortal. Who wants someone fallible leading them.” She said.

COAlexis requested the tea from the replicator and brought it over to Taylor, then she sat down across from Taylor with her own glass ice water. “I don’t know, mortality and fallibility is at the core of human innovation. It’s what has driven all of our most notable people. Confidence does not mean you aren’t fallible, just that your certain you will discover something, just the right or wrong path is the question. Something is still discovered, still learned.”

Willow nodded her thanks for the tea and wrapped her hands around the mug. “True. Just…how many captains let teenagers blow stuff up around the crew.” She shook her head and taking a sip from the tea looked around again.
“I take it this is a secure space…if you wanted to better explain…” she nodded at the ring.
