She was nervous and that was a strange emotion to surface in herself. Not that she didn’t get nervous, but never for a simple meeting. And not with Willow. They were friends, so the feeling stopped her in her tracks as she was making her up to the bridge. What was her worry? Taking a deep breath, Dira allowed herself to search for the clue. And there it was.

Maybe it was a case of her expectations of herself being too high, but she was worried that she had damaged her credibility on the ship. And while that was something of an external factor, she had to admit that it mattered how the crew saw her. It mattered that they still trusted her and saw her a strong leader. While she wasn’t brand new, and she had found her footing here (as it were) Dira was still worried that she hadn’t been long enough to make enough of a difference on this ship. That she would be deemed to have somehow failed.

Shaking off the thought, Dira stepped out onto the bridge and made her way to the ready room, pressing the chime.

“Come in” Willows voice called in response.

When the door opened the red haired captain looked over towards the door from her position, upside down, on her offices sofa. Her uniform jacket and boots were over at the desk, leaving her in a vest and trousers and socks. Her head dangled an inch from the floor, her shot red hair touching the carpet. She held a padd as if she had been reading and grinned as she saw Dira. A genuine smile that makes pressed very clearly even to a non empath how, pleased she was to see her right hand woman.

“Dira!, come in!” She said and dropped the padd.

Dira matched the grin. “You know there are easily ways to absorb information. As far as I know there aren’t any studies about an increase in blood flow adding to a higher retention of information,” she said as she stepped in and placed a padd on the CO’s desk. It was the Chief of Staff’s weekly report and she had added a few comments to it for Willow to mull over. Planting her hands on her hips, she shook her head as she gazed at Taylor, still smiling.

Commander Myqian, XO

Willow stayed where she was and laughed. “It’s just more comfortable and if I have to go back out into the ship and be serious any more I’m going to explode. Then there will be bits of me scattered all over the ship.” She joked. After another moment she carefully rolled over onto her side and sat upright. “Care to join me in a cup of tea?” She indicated the replicator.
