Elanor materialized into the Ogawa’s transporter room with a bit of a grimace on her face. She shuddered briefly, as if she momentarily felt bugs crawling on her skin. Intellectually she knew she felt no such thing, but her imagination loved to tell her otherwise. She shook it off with a grin as she stepped down from the platform and glanced around the room.If one had not seen an image of her previously, they would have difficulty reconciling her appearance with her file. She was not overly tall, barely 5‘6 (if one was generous) and carried herself as though she danced everywhere rather than walked. She was slender, with pale Irish skin and light grey eyes (sparkling with anticipation), and black hair falling past her shoulders in a mix of loose strands and intricate braids. Delicately pointed ears peaked out through the artful mess of hair. If it weren’t for the uniform one might have thought she had stepped right out of Tolkein’s Middle Earth.
Lt. Aerin “Elanor” Shaw
Head NurseAs was becoming tradition on the Owie the unsuspect…new crew members were greeted by the ivory white skinned, blonde Ensign from Human resources. Her willowy frame draped in the red divisions uniform appeared as if from nowhere clutching her PaDD to her chest and her large eyes brimming with the excitement that seemed to fuel her. Her grin spread across the entirety of her face as she positively bounced in anticipation of a new person.
“Hi hi hi,” she said “I’m Ensign Charlie, welcome to the USS Ogawa. Please if you’d just place your hand here for system recognition.” She held the PaDD out to show a blue scanning region and waited still smiling.

HRElanor startled briefly at the Ensign’s greeting before answering her grin with one of her own. “Of course,” She replied, placing her hand on the PaDD. “Thank you for the exuberant greeting. I take it you are the welcoming committee?”
Lt. Shaw
Head NurseEns Charlie continued to grin. Once Elanor had complied the device scanned her hand “Welcome Lieutenant Aerin Elanor Shaw, designation Head Nurse. Pack number 769, Office allocation, Deck 5 primary medical Centre, quarters assigned Department and section head deck 3. Ambient lighting and preferred computer interface and environmental controls transferred to these areas.” a male computer voice responded. “System now recognises staff entry. Voice print and bio signs downloaded from file. Welcome to the Uss Ogawa Lieutenant, my name is GALEN please swap out your current comm badge for full interface experience.”
Charlie beamed and producing a sealed pack with a new uniform and who knew what else offered the Nurse it. A new comm badge sat on top of another PaDD which now bore Elanor’s name.
“You are free to explore the ship now” she declared. I am happy to show you around if you like or GALEN can direct you if you get lost.

HR“Thank you Ensign”, Elanor replied with another smile as she collected her pack and switched out her comm badge. “Do you think you could show me to my quarters? I haven’t had much chance to review the ship’s layout yet.”
Lt. Shaw
Head Nurse“Of course!” The ever exuberant Ensign said sounding elated at the idea. “If you’d like to follow me I can take you there right now.” She waved a hand to indicate that Elanor should follow her. As the exited into the corridors she smiled “Where was your last posting? Is this your first time on a hospital ship.”
Ens Charlie
HRElanor found herself enjoying the Ensign’s exuberance. Stepping up beside her in the corridor she replied, “This is not my first ship, but it is certainly my first hospital ship. She’s really incredible isn’t she?” She paused for a moment to enjoy the sheer scale of the Ogawa. “My latest endeavor was actually on Earth - I took an LOA from Starfleet to complete my PhD and wound up staying onsite to revamp the University Hospital’s Women’s and Children’s Center. Once it was up and running at full capacity I decided it was time to return. Coincidentally Starfleet must have thought so too because it was not long after that I received a request to apply for this posting.”

Head Nurse
“That’s so exciting!” Ensign Charlie singsonged as they walked. She began pointing out elements of the ship and how they differed from other ships and the original McCoy class that the nightingale class had replaced.
“So do you have any hobbies you like to do?” She asked
