Willow directed Prem but to Walker said “she hasn’t been in contact with him since his return. So brief screening may be enough.” She waited a moment. “How’s it going?”

“Y’know, I want to be surprised that on a mission like this, we’ve encountered a potential epidemic, but I really can’t be,” Brad admitted. “Now, even with the 10 times larger staff, we’re looking at the better part of a week to go over everyone and make sure their vaccinations are up to date, and update them if they’re not.”

Willow sighed. “Is everyone onboard up to date?” She asked following Brad.

“Everyone in Medical is, at any rate. I’m still running checks on the rest of the crew,” Brad replied. “Most of them are only at risk of secondary or tertiary infection, since most of Engineering and Security and almost all of Science aren’t going down.”

Willow nodded, picked up a vial from a shelf and looked at it. “Understood. If you don’t need me here I’ll go back to the command Center, see how Drake is doing with the coordination of vaccines.”

She showed him the vial. “What is this?”

Brad looked at it, then cocked his head and looked at it again. “Either a dose of the modified vaccine, or a sedative,” he eventually said with a shrug.

Knows Where This Is Going, LOL

Willow blinked. “You don’t know?” She asked incredulously. “… all your labels look the same… You might wanna think about changing that.”

Willow Taylor
I told you I would! Lmao

“It could also be a poison or an experimental shape-shifting elixir that apparently only works to turn the subject into a South American ungulate,” Brad added, quite unhelpfully.

“Also, I don’t do the labeling, the computer does. I’m just expected to memorize thousands of individual alpha-numeric designations, and those are the four closest to that particular one in my head right now.”

Blinking she said. “A what?” She started to laugh. “…you want something that turns people into…” she couldn’t help but laugh again. Carefully Willow put the vial back on the shelf. “You let me know how that goes…so label maker for you for Christmas.” She grinned.

Brad flushed. “I don’t want to turn anyone into anything else, I’m not a mad scientist, but you’d be amazed what the threat of it will accomplish,” he said, defensively. “Also, maybe as a last resort against an invasion by the Borg or something. It might not work, but at least I’d be assimilated laughing my ass off at being injected by nanoprobes by a llama.”

Cmdr. Dr. Brad Walker
Chief of Staff

“Aha and remind me again…you’re not a mad scientist right?” She grinned and laughed, somehow finding herself very close to Walker as she moved back towards the exit. The flush in his cheeks was so adorable…she lifted a hand to…do what? Stroke the flush in his cheeks? Her own cheeks heated and quickly she caught herself, using the hand gesture to sweep some of her hair behind her ears. She felt light headed all of a sudden. “I…uh…should go back to the command Center.” She said faintly.

“Uh huh,” Brad agreed. “And I should get back to figuring who’s going to be going down as extra vaccination help, while making sure we still have enough staff to cover things up here.”

And if his method for doing that was turning a staff spreadsheet into a holographic dartboard, well, nobody really needed to know that…

Nodding Willow quickly made her way out of the medical suite towards the Command Centre.

For their part, Prem was compliant to the extreme. The twins who shimmered in shortly later were a little more belligerent but mostly because they didn’t see the need to be there, finding the additional poking and prodding invasive and unusual.

Golfink, on the other hand, was anything but cooperative, being insulting and aggressive with everyone until he was treated and eventually released. He did NOT want to be there.
