Dira stopped to replicate a travel mug of coffee to take with her as she moved about with some speed. Her and Willow had received an urgent request from Starfleet Command to have a subspace meeting with them and the rest of the senior staff regarding their next assignment, as it were. The details were exceptionally vague but it did mention that it would have important diplomatic repercussions. So far that didn’t sound too out of the usual, but Myqian could also read between the lines ad there was a subtle ‘You all better be on your game with this one’ that she wasn’t about to ignore.

Moving down the corridor from her office, the XO stepped into the Conference Room and set her mug down at her usual spot to Willow’s right. Then she moved to the display and began the process of setting up the call to one Admiral Gutierrez.

Commander Myqian, XO

Chief of Surgery could be nebulously described as senior staff on ship like the Ogawa. Though at other times Drake was less senior and more staff. He walked into the conference room and took his own place at the far end of the table. “Morning Commander.” He greeted Dira. “Good news, or bad?”

-Lt Cmdr Drake Marshall, MD

“No idea, but we’re about to find out,” Dira replied

The door slid open and the wild-haired and tattooed form of the Chief Science Officer walked in. He was dressed in jeans and black combat boots that were untied. A white t-shirt with black letters that read ‘Just Pretend I’m Not Here, That’s What I’m Doing’ was under a red and black, button down flannel shirt that was open all the way down and worn like a light jacket. In his hand was a large covered coffee thermos. He took a seat at the far end of the table and stretched out his legs towards the front of the room. “Heya, Commander.” he said to Myqian and then he looked at Marshall. “What’s up, Doc?” he asked rhetorically and then took a drink.

Kane, CSO / R&D

Having made the connection, they were on Standby for at least another few minutes. “Good morning,” Myqian said, moving back to her chair and settling in.

Surra entered the conference room dress in her uniform as she had been working. She had ask Dr. Grayson to take over the remaining patients that were on her roster so she could attend the meeting. “Commander.” She gave a greeting nod to Dira, whom she had a new perspective of because she had recently deemed her as being bias but greeted her because she was her commanding officer. She briefly flashed dagger eyes at Kane, then took a seat close to Dr. Marshall, the only person in the room so far that she had no problem with.

“Doctor,” Myqian greeted.

Surra greeted the doctor with a playful tease. “I see you backed out of that pareeses square game we were supposed to have. I am kinda disappointed as I thought I was going to have a chance to show you up.” She gave Marshall a playful nudge with her elbow.
Surra took the advice of the disputatious CSO’s shirt and pretended he was not there. She hoped there would be no team building exercises in which she had to have any interaction with that man.

Almikaz, CoP

“Name the time.” Drake nudged back.

Dira sipped on her coffee, letting her mind drift a little as she gazed out the windows of the conference room.

Commander Myqian, XO

Brad entered at this point, taking in the <<Standby: Starfleet Command>> message on the monitor before taking a seat across the table from Dira.

“Full staff briefing for a mission launch. That’s new,” he commented.

Drake nodded. “It’s either very good or very bad.” He looked up at the screen.

-Lt Cmdr Drake Marshall, M.D.

“It’s more efficient at times to just get the news directly rather than pass it down through the chain,” Myqian said.

Bonner walked in, looking a bit in disarray, for her. A few strands of hair were loose on both sides of her face, she was stabbing yet another stylus itto her hair to stop the bun from falling. Her sleeves were rolled up and yet another early morning call to sickbay had her carrying a mug of hot tea in with her. But she carried a huge smile. She took a seat between Walker and Kane. “Good morning Cmdr.” She said to Myqian. She wasn’t sure she would call the woman friend yet, but Alexis’ apprehension had altered some. “Dr. Walker,” they met every morning, but she had been busy until 10 minutes ago and had missed their morning meeting. She glanced at Kane, brows going up as she read the text on his shirt. “Nice shirt.” She looked across the table, “Dr. Marshall, Dr. Almikaz.” Then, the social niceties out of the way, her attention was buried in the PaDD in her hand.

Bonner, AMO

Oscar walked in, a mug in one hand and a burrito in the other. He was eating very noisily as he went to his seat. He didn’t really care for meetings, and had been told to leave his isolation suit in his new quarters, so the regular uniform he had on (freshly replicated, because GALEN was apparently prissy about personal hygiene, stupid AI) was a little bit unusual on Oscar.

“Group briefing. Good. Efficient. Lets me finish my meal in peace while I listen to everyone else.”

For a moment Dira just took in the mood of the room and she made some mental notes about things to keep in mind in the coming days. Work at least was something she could focus on so whatever they had coming their way, she hoped it would take up a lot of time and mental energy. Distractions were sometimes very useful.

A chirp of the comm system had Dira move from her seat. “Here we go folks, look alive,” she said with a tiny grin before activating the call.”

Commander Myqian, XO

Kane yawned and rested his head in his hand, elbow on the arm of the chair.

Kane, CSO / R&D

Alexis swiveled in her chair to look at the screen, she glanced up from the PaDD, Oh good it’s starting. She went to open a new document on the PaDD but there was no stylus attached. She reached up snagging one that was almost falling out of the bun anyway, and kept tapping away at the PaDD. Anyone who didn’t know her would think she was doodling and not paying attention at all. That was so far from the truth it was laughable.
