He blinked repeatedly, trying to clear his mind. Crouched in pain, he could not believe his plans were going so sideways. How could she give up on them so easily? It was then that he noticed his PaDD was gone. A frantic search in the dim light confirmed his initial observation. She must have it. Now, she was working with these people to keep his plan from succeeding? He screamed loudly in rage, scratching his throat with the vehemence of it. He would deal with her insolence later. Right now, he needed to get back on track. His broken nose hurt, his head hurt, but nothing would keep him from finishing what he started. Swifter than Dira would like, he was moving through the jeffries tubes. Anger and pain made his face almost purple, and spittle dripped down his mouth.

They would all feel his wrath and he would relish their screams.

William Franks

Frigga heard the scream and the smell of putrid scent of anger hit her nose making it wrinkle and then she snarled and began to growl. Whoever it was was coming closer. The person’s scent mixed with fear was all over the woman she was crouched over. Frigga turned her head licking at Dira’s face trying to wake her up, all the while growling a warning. The sound of movement coming from the tube got louder and the scent stronger. She barked, it coupled with a rumbling growl in warning. Which set GALEN off again. =/\=Frigga do stop that noise. No…bad…bad dog? Yes bad dog! Do not growl at me you can’t hurt me. I’m a computer. Frigga stop right now.=/\= Frigga barked at the incorporeal voice. The steak keeper would understand something was wrong. Where was he? Frigga started to move, but she was trained to stay with the injured so she couldn’t go looking for him. She licked Dira’s face again, whining, and then moved off of her and took her good wrist in her mouth, gently, and began to tug, all the while her eyes trained on the location the smell was coming from. A low rumble giving constant warning in the silence of the corridor.

Frigga

Frigga’s barking drew Dira into consciousness again and she moaned. But it was the tugging that made her more alert. The canine was clearly agitated and directing her aggression in the direction of the storage room.

Shit. She had to move… he was coming. “Okay… I get it,” Myqian murmured, rolling herself onto her right side and pushing herself upright with her right hand. Her head spun and as she moved her left shoulder and wrist hurt deeply. She gritted her jaw. Tapping her chest, she felt that the PADD was still safely tucked in her bra.

Pulling her feet under her, the door no longer had her presence to keep it open and it slipped closed. “Okay, Frigga, good girl. We’re going to go to get help now,” she said, as much to keep herself calm as to reassure the dog.

On her feet, Dira swayed, her vision spinning. In the dimmer red alert flashing hallway it meant she needed to rely on feel just now. “GALEN… intruder alert. Summon security, Deck Nine…” She looked at the door. “Room Nine-One-Two. Maintenance access.”

“Voice access not authorized.”

“Recognize Myqian, Commander. Authorization code Myqian-Eight-Alpha-Nine-Three-Gamma-Four.”

“Code not recognized. Commander Myqian is not aboard the Ogawa.”

She growled in frustration. Of course whatever he had done had more or less removed her from the system. Moving slower than she liked, her right hand sliding along the wall to guide her, Dira walked towards the nearest turbolift which was near the arboretum where she had been last before this whole nightmare had begun.

Commander Myqian, XO

The sound of scrambling heralded his entry to the maintenance room and he had to stop as a wave of dizziness and nausea flooded him due to his rush to get upright as soon as he left the Jeffries tube. Those stupid computer geeks must have gotten something wrong. It wasn’t his fault that this was going south. No. Those computer geeks underestimated the crew here. At least the first explosion had been set off. Now he just needed to find Dira and get her to the Shuttle Bay where his non boobytrapped shuttle awaited them. It didn’t matter if she fought him. She would understand in the end just how much he loved her. Once they were away from Star Fleet and the Ogawa’s crew, Dira would thank him. She was just a little brainwashed, nothing he couldn’t fix.

Frigga whined and nudged, pushing Dira faster. There were always people in the arboretum, even during ship’s night. Frigga didn’t know this but with the explosion and red alert the arboretum was a safe point. She nudged Dira again, tugging at her good hand, trying to get her to move faster.

Dira paused to take in Frigga’s behaviour, her vision still a bit blurry. She was so very tired and all she wanted to do was curl up on the floor and sleep. “Okay, okay, I’m going,” she murmured.

As the wave of pain and nausea passed, he growled and exited the maintenance room.

WIlliam Franks

Frigga’s fur bristled sharply under Dira’s hand as the smell and noise of the person she considered a threat wafted into the corridor. Dira was hurt and Frigga was in a hurry. Under her hand Dira could feel a rumble as Frigga growled silently. The dog turned watching the corridor behind them, crouched low, snarling viciously in warning, ready to leap at the approaching enemy in defense of her charge.

Frigga

The sounds made her turn and look back and she could see his form. Dira’s heart rate leapt and her heart was suddenly beating hard in her chest. She could feel pressure in her lower chest and it made her catch her breath. Moving a bit faster, she felt dizzy again, panting as she moved farther along the deck. Even though she was certain she had injured him pretty badly, she knew her own body was in a state of shock from both the injuries and her deep fear. He was too close and she still had a good fifty metres to go. But she also knew that if he caught up to her, even if in his mind he wanted to protect her and get her to safety, his delusion wouldn’t allow him to see that he was harming her in the process and if it came down to a fight, he’d probably kill her even if it was by accident. Or maybe not. Maybe she’d pissed him off so badly he couldn’t even process a scenario where he let her get away with however he saw her resistance.

Everything spun and Dira had to pause, her hand sliding along the wall but slowly arcing downwards. She didn’t even realize what was happening until one knee hit the deck and she all but slumped against the wall. She had to keep moving, but she just couldn’t. Help, Zoi!* she thought, focusing what mental energy she could, despite her negated abilities. If she had been a bit more cognizant and in less pain, she’d have bene able to itemize her symptoms and realize that it wasn’t just the adrenaline and dislocated shoulder and wrist that she was struggling with. It was her heart. She’d been having these symptoms on and off and she knew that whatever he had dosed her with was affecting her badly, but until someone found her and analyzed the hypo stashed in her pocket, there was noway to know what it was. At least she still had the PADD secreted away, but if he got to her, he’d eventually find it and then it would be over.

One way or another Dira had a brief thought wondering if this was how it was all going to end. If it wasn’t William himself, it would be her heart.

Commander Myqian, XO

Frigga backed up, wedged tightly against Myqian, blocking as much of the woman with her body as possible (which wasn’t much, Frigga was only a medium sized dog after all). She stopped trying to get Myqian to move. Frigga’s sense of smell and hearing told her the woman was in extreme distress.

While in in the elevator Surra got a ping on her PaDD. She looked at Zoi and said, “It looks like Oscar narrowed the location down to the maintenance room. There was recent activity there, we better check it out.” She held up her phaser, it had been a while since she had to use one but she was well acclimated to how to use it. She set it to stun for now. As the elevator came to a stop, the doors opened Surra said, “After you. I will watch your six. Let’s go get your girl…er I mean the Commander!” They cautiously made their way down the corridor toward the maintenance room. Surra keep watch for any surprises behind them.

Almikaz, CoP

Just as Zoi was stepping out of the Turbo lift, she felt the connection to Dira and the surge of emotion was panic, fear, pain and desperation. She stiffened for a moment and then, her movements like liquid, she shot down the corridor. “This way Almikaz!” =/\= Medical emergency Arboretum entrance! =/\= Her phaser was already in her hand, ready to shoot. She knew exactly where Dira was and as she rounded the corner, she tore past Dira, blocking the woman with her body as she took aim and shot at the man she KNEW was not a crew member.

Even if she hadn’t known the face of every single crew member on her ship, she would have known him to be an outsider. His emotions were turbulent and angry.

Finally someone was coming and Frigga barked to get their attention, but they just ran right by her. She barked again and again. How could these crazy humans miss her and her sick friend?? Almost immediately Frigga saw the phasers and began to growl again. She didn’t like phasers and she didn’t trust people who carried them. She backed up standing over Myqian, hair bristled.

William barely had time to register the blond woman coming around the corner like a valkyrie and with murder on her face. He didn’t have time to turn and run or even drop to the floor. There was no dodging the phaser blasts that came his way. He didn’t have time to shout or scream or rage. He simply dropped, stunned both in body and mind. How could it have gone so wrong?

Haven, CoS

The man went down and that calmed the dog a bit, but she started to bark again, both a warning and an attempt to get the attention of someone to help her friend. The problem was she didn’t know either of the women who came down the corridor and they were both holding phasers. Frigga wasn’t letting them anywhere near Myqian with one of those things.

Frigga

A few minutes after the emergency call went out, Solal rushed in, medical kit in hand, and quickly surveyed the area. He focused in on Bonner’s dog, Frigga. After his conversation with Bonner, he’d done Frigga’s training program. He recognized the behavior as alert barking. And then he saw who she was standing over. The XO.

Heading over, he called to Frigga. “Quiet.” Then, moving by her, he patted her side gently, “Release.” He kneeled by Myquin’s side, his demeanor calm and collected. “Side. Wait.” Two more commands to the dog, to keep her out of the way and in a swift motion, his med kit was open and tricorder in hand, taking cursory scans.
