The Kelakgh

Appearance
-Average height: 5’0- 5’7 (1.5m - 1.7m)
-Shades of tan skin
-Pale grey/silver eyes
-White/silver hair

For the most part, the Kelakgh have a typical Humanoid physiology with the following exceptions:

-Most are low grade empaths via a telepathic cortex but only able to skim the telepathic frequencies and thus only gathering surface emotions, nothing deeper.
-rubidium and potassium and essentially swapped in terms of function and amounts, but due to the nature of rubidium, exposure of the blood to high levels of oxygen can cause spontaneous ignition.
-the air mixture on Gossaneen III contains less oxygen and thus due to her and her staff’s extensive travels, they use breathing machines like the Barzans (with a charcoal filter that requires changing on monthly basis).

Planetary & Cultural Notes

Gossaneen III is a slightly hotter and drier world with a gravity of 1.08 G.

-They dress in a lot of robes and looser garments because of the dry heat. Heavy adornment in embroidery, beading not uncommon for those of higher social rank.
-Greeting: Press hand together in front of yourself, bow, sweeping hands outwards.
-many people who follow the spiritual tenets of Rama believe that people have detectable auras that are a tangible piece of a person’s soul. Adherents are called Ramaet(s) and often tattoo symbols of their faith into their foreheads.

Ambassador Salin Mero

Medical Record

Year Event
2345 Diagnosed with Rubat’s Disease, a type of leukemia similar to Acute_monocytic_leukemia. Underwent bone marrow transplant, chemotherapy.
2346 Remission.
2349 Cancerous cells detected during regular check-up. Treatment re-started, though advances allowed for targeted cellular therapy, followed by another bone marrow transplant. Remission in six months.
2350 Severe influenza that required hospital treatment due to compromised immune system. Developed pneumonia.
2366 Healthy birth of first child (a girl name Haliin), following ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology).
2370 Premature birth of second child (a girl named Surrain) following placental abruption. Massive maternal haemorrhaging required emergency surgery.
2398 Persistent complaints of ailments.

The Ambassador has been experiencing the following ailments:

-fatigue
-headaches
-slower metabolic rate.
-poor memory recall
-mildly elevated white blood cell count (treated with antibiotics and it went down for a brief time)

There has been no specific cause identifiable for any of these symptoms, though it is suspected that it could be related to the longer duration away from Gossaneen III. The Ambassador insists something is actually wrong.

She is also noted to be a hypochondriac and has been most of her adult life.

OOC: If you require more information, please just ask, though some might have to come from the Ambassador herself and/or through your tests

Kane scanned the record when it arrived. He then sent a message to the Ambassador’s staff requesting upon their arrival he be given schematics of and a working breathing machine identical to the one the Ambassador uses.

Kane, CSO / R&D

Brad also reviewed the record, separately. The recurring blood cancer, followed by at least one difficult pregnancy, were both interesting items, but it had been at least 28 years since any incidents.

He didn’t have much time before he needed to be part of the reception committee for the Ambassador and her staff, but he still made a note to himself to suggest running each test twice: once in Sickbay with the Ambassador in their breathing apparatus, once in the Ambassadorial quarters (adjusted for their homeworld conditions, and the medical staff in breathing apparatus).

Cmdr. Dr. Brad Walker
Chief of Staff

Drake looked everything over, though he imagined Brad would take the lead, and it would mostly be Internists working on it, there wasn’t any harm in staying informed. From what he could draw, it seemed one of two things. She was actually significantly ill, and had been largely dismissed as a hypochondriac. Or she had a condition some cancer survivors got, thinking that every symptom was a big one. It was hard to blame them for thinking that way. Though he did take special note of the premature birth. The last significant thing on her history, well after remission. It might have just been a complication, as often does happen in childbirth, or it might’ve been an early symptom.
