Su’en left the Ambassador and made his way to the front of the shuttle. With a plop he sat down next to the Star Fleet pilot and looked at him for a long time before speaking through the respirator. “How much longer, ensign?” he queried.

“We are within hailing range down, sir. I was just about to notify you that we would be coming in in about 20 minutes, door to door,” the bright eyed man said with the cutting smile most pilots wear. Su’en found it annoying.

“Yes well, I’ll let her know. Bring us in and see that our quarters are ready. These respirators are heavy,” he bemoaned.

The ensign nodded as the assistant disappeared again, back to the passenger section. After a moment he pressed a button on the control panel, =/\= USS Amazon to USS Ogawa. We have your package. =/\=

On the bridge, Dira rose from the centre seat. “Acknowledged Amazon. Arrange to beam the Ambassador and her contingent to Transporter Room 1 in ten minutes.” It was convenient, because VIP quarters were a deck up on Deck 2, close to her and Willow’s quarters. As much as they might not be looking forward to dealing with the predicted difficulties a VIP could bring with them, this situation was vastly different than your standard diplomatic or ferrying mission.

Dira leaned over the chair and touched the comm. =/\=Captain Taylor and Commander Walker to Transporter Room One.=/\=

=^= I will meet you and Doctor Walker there Commander I have something pressing to finish first.=^= Willows voice replied.

=/\=Acknowledged,=/\= Brad replied.

She nodded to the conn. “Lieutenant Klein, you have the Bridge.”

“Yes, Ma’am,” Klein replied.

Dira left the bridge and arrived at Transporter Room One.

Commander Myqian, XO

Salin floated from the back of the runabout to where everyone would be gathering. Several days on the small but truthfully comfortable vessel and she was ready to be able to roam corridors. She was looking forward to not being in the same small areas with the same people and having some actually privacy here and there, even if it was feigned. After all, what Ambassador ever truly had privacy?

She carried a bag which she set at her feet and stood on the pad thing that would materialize her on the ship she was most looking forward to seeing. Ever since she had seen that documentary, she had known that this ship, these people, were the key. “I am ready,” Mero said.

Brad sidled up to Dira’s side in the transporter room a couple minutes after the comm call.

“Oh good, I’m not late,” he said half-seriously. His office was only a deck lower, after all.

Su’en had his own bag ready to go and got on the transporter pad with Salin. A hand touched his temple and he rubbed it to relieve pressure, this whole trip would be stressful he knew. It wasn’t that the Ambassador was high maintenance, though she was, he actually liked her and her company. It was just she could be more fussy than he liked to deal with. Wasn’t that his job though? To keep her happy and deal with the fussiness of it all. Normalize relations and all of that. Perhaps one day he would be ambassador, but given his age, that was becoming increasingly unlikely itself.

No, for now he would have to keep Salin happy and wear a smile doing it. One day the headaches, literal and figurative, would stop. It just wouldn’t be today.

As the pair settled in on the transporter pad, the flyboy ensign winked at Salin and flashed a cheeky grin. “Enjoy your stay. You will have to tell me if what they say about their Chief Engineer is true,” he jested before pushing up the slider and watching as the shimmering light took them away to the Ogawa.

“And what is it that they say?” Meru said, her wide eyes curious.

Once they were safely away he commed the hospital ship again: =/\= Amazon to Ogawa, package delivered. We’ll be back to retrieve it when told to do so.=/\=

As the quartet (Meru, her aide and their two security guards) materialized, the Ambassador all but bounded off the transporter pad. Standing at 154 cms (5‘1), her short stature did nothing to hide her enthusiasm. Her tan skin contrasted with her silver eyes and mass of silky white hair that seemed unconcerned with that pesky thing known as gravity and it floated about her head. Her breathing apparatus was very thin and all but disappeared through her wide smile. Floating to them, the billowing gauzy dress and outer robe fanned about her as she came to stand before Taylor, Myqian and Walker. “Oh! We’re here!” She pressed her hands together in front of her, bowed and swept her hands out to her sides before liking her head again. “I am Salin Meru, Ambassador of the Kelakgh. I am so grateful that you agreed to have us here. It means a great to me,” she said earnestly.

Brad did his best to mimic the gesture, though his movements were far less smooth than the Ambassador’s.

Willow slipped into the room at that point and had to bite the inside of her cheek as she watched Brad copy the gesture.

“Doctor Brad Walker, Chief of the Ogawa’s Medical Staff, Ambassador,” he said with a small smile. “We’re equally pleased to have you choose us to see to your care.”

“Oh, one of the doctors! I remember you from the documentary!” the Ambassador said. She gestured behind her. “This is my aide, Su’en Jalero and two of my personal guards, Aiin and Kaosret.”

A small vein twitched in Willows temple at the mention of the documentary but her smile remained in place as she allowed Doctor Walker to continue his greeting.

It might have been strange, for the third-in-command to handle the greeting, but technically, his department was the reason she was here. At this point, the CO and XO of the ship were little more than chauffeurs for the medical staff.

“I offer you a choice: we can escort you to your quarters and begin the medical exams in the morning, or we can escort you to our primary medical facility first and then take you to your quarters after the diagnostic team completes their intake procedures,” he said.

Mero turned to her long-trusted aide, her motions even more airy in the slightly lighter gravity than her homeworld norm. “What do you feel up for? I am eager to just get started, and you don’t have to be there for the exams if you don’t want to. I don’t know if they will want to ask anything of you though.” She turned her silver eyes to Walker in query.

Taking this as an opening willow cleared her throat. “Im Captain Taylor, on behalf of the Ogawa welcome. Im sure if you wish we can organise a space close to the medical suite to you to rest where you can be contacted easily should the medical staff need you.”

It was at this point the bouncing ball of boundless bubbly that was Ensign Charlie arrived with a box which she brought to Show Willow and the at the Captain’s nodd to Walker. Inside were the GALEN connected patient bands should he need them.
