Last time on the USS Ogawa…

The Ogawa received notice that they were about to receive a VIP patient. An Ambassador who had seen the documentary on the Ogawa’s crew has specifically requested their help for ongoing ailments. They were given background information (https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf3/ogawa/posts/195203/ ) in addition to some basic information about their people, including the fact that they use breathing devices for their slightly different atmosphere (like the Barzan’s) and their blood contained rubidium and was subject to spontaneous combustion upon contact with high levels of oxygen. They are also mildly psi-positive. They also come froma. world with slightly higher gravity.

The Kelakgh Ambassador, Salin Mero, arrived with her Aide, Su’en Jalero, and two guards. The Ambassador is in Primary Sickbay undergoing an initial set of tests.

Noted Symptoms:

  • headache in right temple (gets throbbing headaches in her temples quite frequently)
  • constant fatigue
  • mouth is sore so she sticks to predominantly soft foods (new symptom)
  • ventricular fibrillation- brief episodes

  • Aside from the sore mouth, she’s been experiencing these symptoms for over a year. They have been on Earth for 3 years.

So far, aside from basic scans, she’s had:

    Test Result
Tricorder scan Slightly elevated white blood cell count [treated with antibiotics and it went down for a brief time but seems to be up again. Her metabolic rate was about 10% lower than baseline. A small number of immature red blood cells.
2nd (Deeper) Tricorder scan Her iron levels and other vitamin levels were fine, and there was no obvious sign of infection.
CBC RBC (red blood cell) count: slightly lower than her baseline. WBC (white blood cell) count: slightly elevated. Hemoglobin: very slightly lower. Hematocrit (fraction of blood made of RBCs): slightly lower. Average RBC size: slightly smaller but on the borderline of normal.
    Metabolic Panel Potassium- elevated.
    Autoantibody Test Normal.
Bone Marrow Biopspy Blood cell count, percentage and development were the same as the results from the blood testing. There were no particulates in the bone marrow and aside from the low number of immature RBCs, everything else was normal growth-wise.
Chest CT Slight arrhythmia and shortness of breath, but not causing any significant issues.

    Who is Currently Where

  • Ambassador Mero has decided to take a break and is leaving Primary Medical. Solal and Drake were conducting the tests, while Walker monitors from his office.
  • The Aide, Su'en, is in the Lounge drinking. The CSO and Val'aura are there.
  • One guard is in Primary Medical, the other standing outside the VIP quarters.
  • Myqian is on the Bridge

  • Geoff and I will be getting other things going so more people can get involved, but if you aren’t sure where you should be, or need direction, please don’t hesitate to reach out to either of us. If you have any questions about the sim so far, please voice them. It might help the rest of your shipmates as well.
