At the main engineering console two lights went off simultaneously. Preliminary diagnostics would reveal that a race condition had started in the power manifolds that supplied energy to the primary sickbay and science labs.

GM Wombat

Navale was walking past the main console in the course of her duties and paused seeing the lights. She pulled up the preliminary diagnostics and huffed out a breath. =/\=Huzzen to Maria. Chief we have a couple of check engine lights on the main console. Something is up with the power manifolds for primary sickbay and the science labs.=/\=

Lt Huzzen, eng

=^=Go ahead.=^= She waited to hear what the message was before her face scrunched up looking strange, she then tapped her badge again. =^=I’m on my way.=^=

The door to her office opened and Maria walked out of the office, as she had settled in to try to get a few clerical things settled after she had delved out enigneering teams to take care of some long overdue requests. She came out and headed over to the main console and looked herself and frowned. She tapped the console a few times to pull up a power route diagram. “Hmm… It seems that both the Science labs and Med bay are doing something that requires a lot of power draw, and the system is trying to figure out who it should distribute more power to. Or so I would think…” She then tapped a com button on the outer edge of the console.

=^=Engineering to Sickbay=^=

She paused for a response

=/\=Bonner here. How can we help you?=/\=

=^=What is going on down there? There seems to be a larger than normal power draw that is conflicting with something in the system.=^=

=/\=Nothing out of the ordinary. Sickbay is fairly quiet at the moment.=/\=

Bonner

Maria’s face grew more concerned. When she spoke again the concern was evident in her voice.
=^= I see, if nothing too important is going on, we are going to try and cycle the power to see if that helps resolve the issue. It may get dark for a few moments. But things should be right back up right after.=^=

She then repeated the process with the science labs.

=^=Engineering to Science Labs=^=

She paused again for a response

=^=What is going on down there? There seems to be a larger than normal power draw that is conflicting with something in the system.=^=

OOC: cross posting

NE Stadtler answered the call.

=/\=Uh hello? This is Ensign Stadtler. Are you sure the power draw is coming from the lab? Have you tried turning it off and on again?=/\=

CSO Petrakos

=^= Ensign, this is Maria Chief Engineer. Doing so would mean that we momentarily cut power in the science labs. I was just making sure that you had nothing overly important going on. I would hate to ruin your important work.=^=

She anxiously thought between both answers, and looked thoughtful.

She then turned to Lt. Huzzen. “Would you start the process and reroute power to cycle it completely from both areas? Give it a 3 minute window before restoring power. Please.”
Then she turned to one of the other Ensigns that she thought she remember his name being Darius. He appeared at a quick glance to be a 6‘0 human male with short dark brown hair and even darker brown eyes. Maria called out to him. “Ensign… Darius was it?” He gave a nod in affirmation. Maria then continued to speak. “While that is going on can you please run a trace and see if we can try to isolate the pattern or issue as to why it’s caused this?”
