“When all else fails, just remember we do have a self-destruct program.” Royal said and laughed. “Although I am usually a fan of riding the crazy as far as it goes. You find yourself in some neat situations with some neat people sometimes.” and he laughed again.

She laughed some more. “I do try to avoid blowing things up whenever possible.” She held back that tiny surge of emotion. After all, it wasn’t her that had exploded things. “But I will tell you that there is something incredible about seeing Captain Taylor preside over the Promenade of Starbase 157 yelling ‘off with their heads’!”
Dira leaned in. “When we boarded this ship for the first time I actually had someone place a crown on the captain’s chair and that’s what she saw first when we got to the bridge.” She burst out laughing. “Oh the look she gave me.”

Royal laughed loudly. “Oh my god that is amazing!” and he laughed some more. When he finished, he was still smiling and said “Just so you know… you are now the one doing the dirty looks when I leave the crown.” and he grinned at her and winked.

She lifted her spoon. “Oh, I know. Just so long as you know your audience and are prepared for retaliation, most of the time it’s harmless. It when people go too far or misjudge what a person is okay with that we get into trouble. In this case, Willow and I were friends by that point and she could take a bit of teasing.”
She scooped that last of her soup and pushed the bowl to the side, looking over the lounge and taking in everyone. One of the crew caught her eye and she gave them a small smile and a nod.

“I will endeavor to make sure such engagements are both tasteful and respectful.” Royal said with a grin. “And funny, of course. And I know what you are saying. Rugby players can be downright vicious when it comes to jokes. Had to knock a few heads together on more than one occasion. But we are a creative lot, too. I remember when we got a new manager. We were traveling from Edinburgh to Berlin for a match. He was making all kinds of a fuss about how he had to be seated next to the window. So we put him in his seat and glued a pic of one of our Prop’s… um… ‘hairy aft section’… to the outside of said window. before we left.” and he grinned. “And locked out the shade.” and he winked.
