Achilleas tapped the table in front of him to get both of the scientist’s attentions. “While I’m sure we could talk about dark matter all day, we need to talk about our next cooperative research project. While we’ll each have our own projects to work on while nothing else is pressing for the time being I’d like us to analyze the data gathered during the last mission. While also coordinating with medical to see if any of the crew are showing any signs of damage or mutation due to the ship having been in a different space. Questions?”

Turning a deep shade of crimson, Ria stopped talking abruptly. Her eyes were wide and she looked like a cross between a deer in headlights and utter embarrassment. Why do you always have to talk so much and make a fool of yourself, she chastised herself silently. To keep herself from risking talking too much again, she first nodded and then shook her head, knowing full well that she probably should ask questions considering that she hadn’t been aboard during the last mission. But she hoped that all questions she had right now, would be either answered by looking at the data or one of her fellow scientist would just happen to mention something that explained what exactly had happened to she ship and her crew.

“Can I not and say I did?” Saatynn asked with a chuckle, “I’ll coordinate with medical, since my specialty almost works in conjunction with them. I’ll also have some questions for you later, Lieutenant.”

“Good, good!” Achilleas grinned jovially and laughed in response, “I know you’re both new to the ship, er… well you will be after the repairs, so let me catch you up simply. The Ogawa ended up inside a different phase or dimension of space, which of it it was I’m still not sure yet as we still need to analyze the data. The exit from that space necessitated using the deflector dish to rupture a weak point and then slamming our way out of the gap. Hence the damage to the ship.”

And as easily as that her interest and curiosity were caught. Different phases or dimensions of space was something that definitely intrigued her and the mere thought of being able to help analyzing all the data the ship had collected brought a shy simile to her face and made her eyes sparkle. To her there were few things more enjoyable than diving into data and figuring things out. “I’d be happy to help you with the analysis of the data, Sir,” Riani offered shyly.

Achilleas nodded easily in response, “Fantastic. Every bit of help is great. While it may not end up being useful to any future missions, it’s important to catalog every bit of the unknown we come across. No one can have too much knowledge and it’s possible that our findings could help someone else in Starfleet.”

“Permission to be dismissed and proceed with my task, sir?” Saatynn asked.
