Sickbay - Iyun's Medical evaluation

Riani nodded silently, her cheeks still flaming red. “Uhm…,” she started, took a deep breath and swallowed and then tried again. “Is there anything else you need from me, Sir?”

~Ensign Iyun, Scientist

Brad hit a flurry of buttons on the biobed, his PaDD and his tricorder, signing off on Iyun’s physical. “Nope, you’re all signed-off and good to go. Just make sure to visit the counselor, and remember to drop by anytime you injure yourself.”

“I will. Thank you, Sir,” Riani replied with a nod and a small smile. She then slipped off the biobed, but slightly stumbled as her feet touched the floor. Instinctively she reached for the first “thing” she could to steady herself, which just happened to be Dr. Walker. If possible she turned even redder, a mortified expression on her face as she looked up at him. She quickly dropped her hands to her side and said in a rush, “I’m sorry, Sir. I … I didn’t mean to.”

Brad stepped back to absorb the impact and looked down at the young scientist with a bemused smile. “It’s fine,” he said. It was another data point to add to the puzzle that she was, and a possible avenue for further investigation: did she have some sort of disorder with her center of gravity? Maybe some sort of equilibrium issue, that caused her clumsiness?

“Do you need me to walk you out?”

OOC: Oh! I never thought of that! I like the idea. So many possibilities for interaction and character development! :D

IC:
Her gaze cast down and her expression, well whole body language really, one of utter mortification, Ria shook her head. “No Sir. Thank you,” said meekly. “Have a good day.” And without another word she made her way out of the infirmary, walking as fast as she could without actually running. Once the doors slid close behind her, though, she did start to run. Stumbling more than once, but she never actually fell until she reached her quarters and collapsed onto her bed; still fighting tears.

Brad stood in the center of Sickbay for a moment, gazing at the door, before shaking his head with a bemused smile and heading back to his office. And if he put a flag in Riani’s file that would notify him when she returned, and remind him to check for other possible causes of her balance issues? Well, it was all rather understandable, since she seemed have a recurring issue that would see her back most likely sooner than later.
