She grinned. “I put it in the tea. Jestral tea is very floral and fruity, so I find the brandy adds a lovely depth to it and the tea takes off the alcoholic edge it can have. I do’t drink much, but I do enjoy a small night cap after a busy day,” Dira said, the tension on her body from the day long gone. Certainly, Zoi was having much to do with that and she could admit that she could use more socializing as she settled into her new job.

Zoi nodded, sitting back and letting her eyes wander over the room again. The atmosphere was relaxing even though it was a very busy restaurant. The way it was shaped, with many rolling waist high walls creating alcoves throughout the dining area, created a sense of privacy. The music being played was light and soothing with just enough beat to almost entice one to dance. Everyone seemed in good spirits here.

She watched Zoi’s sharp blue eyes traipse over the establishment and Dira noted that the high alertness was gone, replaced by a more comfortable observance. Well… good. She was glad to see the COS just… be.

“I do like warm drinks to help me sleep. I have a chair in my quarters that sits beside my bed. Its fat and super comfortable, pretty much all cushion. When you sit in it, it kind of envelops you. If I am having trouble sleeping, I get a warm cup of tea, wrap myself in a blanket or housecoat, and sit in that chair feet and all. I tend to fall asleep pretty well.” She thought about it for a moment and shook her head. “I am going to have to replicate a new one when the Ogawa is fixed.”

A warm smile graced her face as Dira gazed at Zoi. “That you are. And it sounds like a great idea. I might have to steal it,” she said with a wink.

Zoi’s attention returned to Dira and the warm smile caught her a bit by surprise. She found herself returning it with one of her own.

“I always have to meditate. I try to before bed, when I can, but I do find it makes a big difference to my overall wellbeing,” Myqian admitted openly. “From what I understand, many Betazoids can handle the various thoughts and feelings of others without it impacting them, but I’m not one of them. I’m not sure if it’s just my particular strengths and weaknesses as a telepath, or my mixed heritage, but some days it’s all very… draining. It might have had a lot do with being a therapist as well, so I guess we’ll see,” she said with a slight laugh.

Thank goodness Dira had kept talking. It gave Zoi a moment to collect herself and return to the conversation at hand. “I have definitely seen that Betazoid therapists struggle more in this than the average therapist. I suppose its the difference between being sympathetic and empathic. Betazoid therapists are a huge stereotype in Star Fleet. If you are Betazoid, most would assume therapist of some kind. But I actually find that they are also very good in command and security positions.”

“My extra sensory perception is not nearly as powerful as a Betazoid’s and for that, I think I am grateful. I wouldn’t want to know the extent of the pain some people feel, my mother being one of them. It’s already hard enough with my limited abilities.”
