Some time after out of the idiotic clothing she had found herself in and getting properly dressed. Queen Willow Taylor, resplendent in her new outfit, complete with a sparkling tiara (https://images.app.goo.gl/ZEuCXvQQXAhXvTCK8) wandered across the promenade to survey her kingdom. A small gathering of NEs followed her, some hoping her trailing dress train, some waving large fans at her left and right. Which to the basic observer would seem redundant as she herself carried a red and gold fan which she was using at the same time. One scattered rose petals in front of her as she walked.

”where is the rabbit!” she called again to her aides in the same clipped upper British accent she had adopted while with Mason some time earlier.

The NE she addressed paled. ”I don’t know.” he said shaking slightly.

Willow snapped her fan closed. ”You don’t know what!” she asked in a dangerously low tone. Almost as if by habitual training the rest of the NEs all cowered. (But that couldn’t be right, this hadn’t been going on long enough for them to have developed such habits.)

”I…i…i don’t know where the rabbit is your Majesty.” he stammered as he clarified.

Willow smiled sweetly. Her emerald eyes cold however. ”You don’t know? Well dear me all you had to do was say so…in that case....” she began in a gentle tone which caused them all to relax slightly…if only for a second. ”…FIND HIM!!!” she finished with a bellow. She spun, ”If someone dosen’t find the White Rabbit I’m going to lose my temper and IF I LOSE MY TEMOER SOMEONE WILL LOSE THEIR HEADS!”

They scrambled in all directions as her fan bearers and those remaining stood like statues waiting for her next words. She sighed deeply. ”all this royal decree, it will give me wrinkles. It is not becoming if a Queen to have frown lines.” she told the nearest card…a red one, with two studs. A two or hearts or of diamonds she couldn’t be sure.

Sluuurp. Ensign Tell sipped gently at his hot coffee as he marched from his quarters to the promenade at an intense pace. He always followed up his morning exercises with a hearty meal which he took away from his quarters whenever possible. The starbase and its promenade provided the perfect dining location for the man, where he felt like he was keeping a good eye on things even while off duty. He lifted his flask for another warming sip as the approached the main concourse.

Smack! One of the NEs Willow had sent scattering flung herself around the corner and straight into Ralin. He choked on his coffee as he failed to dodge her, spilling the dark liquid over the gold of his upper uniform. He relented in his confusion and spat out the little that remained in his mouth. “Hey! Where’re you gon’ in a hurry?” he growled. Even as a security officer he was caught unprepared by the seeming nimbleness and dexterity of the NE as she darted under his arm and vanished into the web of corridors. Deciding that giving chase would be unjustified, he shook his head and continued to the promenade, now keen to ensure that everyone was safe.

Striding to the nearest observation window The Queen sat herself on a seat and clapped her hands. ”Bring the Joker!” she said and immediately civilian, glassy eyed and carrying what looked like a vulcan loot hurried forward. He wore a jaunty hat and tabard, and his features betrayed him as under the same sort of spell the rest were.

”play for me the song of wonder.” the Queen said offhandedly as she turned to gaze out at the stars. Her aides now in place to fan her once more.

Scanning the deck, Ensign Tell saw nothing suspicious right away. There was a cluster of activity here or there but that was to be expected. Some alien dignitary in strange clothing which resembled no culture typically represented on the station was sat enjoying the view of the stars as aides seemed fanatically ready to serve her every whim… the usual for a starbase, in his experience.

He bowed deeply, and creating his throat struck some notes and began to sing, ”Somewhere in your mind I fear there’s some place you have never been. Welcome to the strangest place You’ve ever been a stranger in.” some spectators began go clap in time.

”Dreams might give you a clue. Close you eyes it’s here for you. But everybody’s crazy here in Wonderland. You have to be a bit insane. Cause everybody’s crazy here in wonderland, you simply won’t believe your eyes. Cause if you’ve never been you’d never understand, you couldn’t in a million tries. You’ll see some combinations no one ever sees
All right here in wonderland…”

Detecting an… odd atmosphere on the promenade, Ralin ignored his groaning stomach for now, instead gently patrolling as he sipped away at his drink. At the rising of the music, his attention immediately focusses in on the group by the window. First looking around for handlers of some sort, he found no one seemingly around to look after the visiting party. A quick huff later, he found himself approaching the huddle and suddenly realised that several members of the group donned Starfleet attire. What the hell do they think they’re doing. He cursed internally. What sort of attitude to the uniform is that? What are those poses they’re pulling? Approaching and reaching to tap a NE on the shoulder, his instincts kicked in and he opted for a more dominant approach. He took one more large swig of his coffee before lowering it but raising his voice. “Starfleet personnel! What are we doing here?” Addressing the central figure as best he could from behind and while battling against the music, he continued. “I’m sorry about all this. Have you recieved a formal welcome to the station?”

Willow turned her head and surveyed the man before her. Yellow. Yellow wasn’t a colour she liked, and a one. Perhaps an ace or a jack yes…that must be it, he was a Jack.

“My attendants don’t not need to answer to you Jack…you may come. Sit with us while we wait for the white rabbit.” WIllow said fanning herself and turning dismissively back to the stars as the man playing the music started a new song.
