Chief. As in the Chief of Staff, Dr. Walker. Ever nodded as she took in what little information being presented. From the looks of what she was seeing and hearing it did appear as though the good doctor and his friends were high on something. “Well, good thing psychiatrist is my speciality. Dr. Walker doesn’t appear to be able to make appropriate command decisions.  We are going to need to use the transporters so we don’t come in contact with anyone and spread whatever this is around any more.”

Ever went to the left bulkhead and touched the control panel, “Commander Zeanar to infirmary, I have three officers who appear to be infected with mind altering substances. They will need to be beamed straight to you. Please make sure the transporters scan for bio-hazards and filter them out. And put them straight into isolation. I will follow shortly and lend a hand.”

Lt. Commander Ever Zeanar, CoP

The ship she was due to join was the Ogawa. But when she arrived at 157, she saw something that made her start to doubt her desire to join the prestigious starship. It was in refit and looking a bit worse for wear. She wasn’t sure, from her limited view on approach, just how bad it was. But she saw enough. “Great… prestige on a bucket of bolts.” She sighed murmuring under her breath as the transport set to dock and she disembarked with reassurances her two crates would be delivered to the Ogawa. She slung her shoulder bag up and headed inside the station.

Once there, she tapped out the Chief of Staff for the Ogawa to see if they were around. The computer spit back that the Chief of Staff for the Ogawa was currently on the station Promenade. She quick queried his bio for a photo to refresh her memory and headed to the Promenade to seek out the first of many contacts she would make. “Well, Nyf, you wanted adventure… careful what you wish for next time.”

The young virologist headed to her new chapter in life.

About the time the Psychiatrist was sending a comm to have the group beamed out, a young woman with short red hair came towards her with a smile. “Excuse me… I was looking for Commander Walker. The computer said he was here.” She glanced at those beyond the CoP and raised a curious eyebrow at the strange behavior.

“That’s me!” Brad said. “Unfortunately, introductions will have to wait. I’m currently late for tea!”

…and stoned out of his gourd, but that rather went without saying at this point.

The transporter room commed back to Zeanar, =/\=Transporter control to Doctor Zeanar, ready on your mark.=/\=

Jen glanced at the woman then back at the Commander. A bright smile lit her face. “How fantastic! I believe you are who I came to fetch to tea, then.” She glanced at the Chief of Psychiatry. “Is that right, Ma’am?” She wasn’t sure what was going on, but if it kept the man from wandering off while they got a lock on him, all the better.

“Sure, Lieutenant. Why don’t you see if some of the security officers have Dr. Walker’s...... tea and meet us in the infirmary,” Ever said as she pressed the control panel to finish the lock and transport. She waited a few seconds to double check that three officers arrived safely at the medical department before closing the connection on the panel. Wiping her brow with the back of her thumb knuckle, she wondered if she had accidentally turned up the temperature in the hallway. Probably just stress. Ever turned back towards the newly arrived science officer. Well, she might have been a doctor. It was hard to tell one uniform from the next sometimes. Feeling slightly subconscious at the wrap she was wearing decorated with large blue and yellow flowers, Ever wiggled her toes in the sandals on her feet. As she had been returning to her quarters from the stations pool, she also remembered the bikini she was wearing under the wrap. Vacation seemed to be over. Time to get back to work.

“Right, let’s get security and meet back in the medical bay. Think they are going to need all the help they can get. No telling how far, whatever this thing is, has spread. What is your speciality Lieutenant? ” Ever asked as she began walking across the hall in the direction the officers had just been teleported from, not thinking about contagions.

Zeanar, CoP

“Wait… spread?” Jenyfer turned to step in front of the woman and make her stop. “What do you mean, spread?” She had a look of concern on her face. “You asked what my specialty was. I’m a virologist.” She laughed. “Before we go any further, you need to tell me how you ‘think’ it spread and if you think you, or even myself, now, could spread it to others on our way to Security. I don’t mean to be rude, or press my luck with a superior officer I don’t even know. But I think we need to make this a priority even more. Don’t you?” She nodded with respect but didn’t reach out a hand. If it was by touch, hopefully she was ok so far. “I’m Jenyfer Lynset.”

Virologist

“Well Jenyfer Lynset. I have no idea what ‘it’ is or if there is a contagion. Merely a guess from what I was picking up from the medical officers that were here when I walked around the corner. And an observation from the behaviour of the Chief Medical Officer. Not sure we can get it from contact, cause he seemed more like he was hallucinating. So a guess is he ingested something not good. And since everyone was either suited up or behind a field, I didn’t touch anyone either,” Ever said not even pretending to hide the fact she just picked up a few of the virologist’s thoughts. “But it seems more your speciality than mine. Unless he is just bat poo crazy. Either way, you are correct. We need to sound the alarm. Hence altering security. On the chance it is transmittable though, how do you recommend we proceed?”

Zeanar, CoP

Jenyfer listened and smiled. “Well, first off, I’m thinking ‘bat poo crazy’ probably isn’t the answer. At least, I’m hoping not. That would mean a preexisting condition no one caught before.” Laughing she shook her head. And I’m not sensing you going nuts either. So either ingestion or touch is probably a good place to start. My suggestion is we make our way to medical. But we need to not pass thru main areas of the ship. Or we need to transport as well. On the off chance this ‘is’ a touch contagion, with a longer than instant incubation period, we can’t chance touching a lot of folks.”

She frowned a moment. “Do you know if this is an isolated incident or are others on the ship infected, that you know about?” She didn’t like the idea of having walked into something she’d end up labeling a pandemic. But to even have a couple folks affected meant something was terribly wrong.
