The seven foot being seemed genuinely interested that someone was speaking to him. INDEED NOT. he agreed with Jarvis’ suggestion his name wasn’t Doctor Black. MY GIVEN NAME IS JOSEPH. AND I AM AFRAID YOU DONT HAVE THE CORRECT BICUSPIDS TO BE A KLINGON he looked down at his brush. THAT NE WAS CONFUSED AND ASKED ME TO BRUSH…I HAVE YET TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO BEST FLOSS THE INFIRMARY. YOU SHOULD ALWAYS FLOSS AFTER YOUR BRUSH.

Wrong bicuspids to be a Klingon, how best to floss the infirmary, always flossing after you brush? It seemed to Dr Jarvis that dentistry was the only thing that the… being had on its mind. What are you? he thought, his eyes roving up and down the black robe with its star-fleet tunic on top, some sort of malfunctioning android perhaps? That would certainly explain having the one-track mind obsessed with dentistry. With no answers likely to be forthcoming on their own, Jasper first tried the direct approach. “What species are you? What is your home planet?”

Dr Black looked at Jarvis again. EHH… he began and then wringing his skeletal hands said WE GO BY MANY NAMES…ERR…WHAT SPECIES DO YOU THINK I AM as though this was an answer. Then added MY HOME IS A DISTANT PART OF SPACE. I DOUBT YOU HAVE BEEN THERE. I HAVE SINCE HOWEVER, MANY YEARS AGO, ADOPTED EARTH AS MY HOME.” he continued. I DO ENJOY THE COMPANY OF MORTA…I MEAN HUMANOIDS. YES HUMANOIDS.**

He looked nervous, and then produced a sonic toothbrush and a lolly pop from inside the billowing folds of his robes. ERR WOULD YOU CARE FOR A FREE SAMPLE OR A LOLLY? IT IS OF COURSE SUGAR FREE.

The woman in question seemed to stagger into a table and ended up sitting on the floor.

Dr J. Jarvis M.D.

Adopted earth as his home? a likely story. Having spent some time on the planet, Dr Jarvis was pretty sure he would have read about a seven-foot skeleton with no noticeable flesh wandering around the planet. It would have been reported in a scientific or medical journal by the first person of either profession to clap eyes on it. And given its stature and form of dress, it was pretty hard to miss.

“I’m not sure what species you are?” Jasper replied, however, the harder he stared at the creature, the more difficult it seemed to be to make out its features. In the end and not entirely sure why, he said, “you’re not a distant cousin to the Cardassians?” Then offhandedly added, “and no, I would not like a lollypop.” Given that the being had withdrawn it from inside his robe, he did not want to think of what it may have come into contact with.

Dr. Black noticed that some of the other crew were starting to act, odd. Stumbling drunk then otherwise being quite normal if somewhat distracted by their feelings. Eventually they would blink a couple of times then look at each other strangely.

Dr Jarvis swayed slightly but was not sure why. He hadn’t tripped over anything nor drunk something alcoholic, yet he was doing it nonetheless. Was someone fiddling about with the gravity controls he wondered?

Dr J. Jarvis M.D

Looking around Dr Black seemed confused.

He indicated the woman who had instructed him to sweep to Jarvis I DO BELIEVE SHE MAY BE INTOXICATED. he confided.

It was only when Dr Black drew his attention to the woman, that Jasper realised that the woman had been staggering around the room before unceremoniously falling to the floor. Hadn’t he just had a thought about feeling intoxicated himself? He couldn’t remember. Tentatively he tried to walk forward in a straight line, to test the theory, only to find himself stagger haphazardly from side to side. While he could not speak for the NE, he certainly had not been drinking, which meant that something had infected them both. While his mind had started to fog over, he had just enough sense about him to run a scan of himself, Dr Black and the NE.

Dr J. Jarvis M.D.

As Jarvis approached the young woman he, too, started to feel dizzy like his head was filled with nonsensical words and phrases that he couldn’t quite make sense of, and yet at the end of it all it passed. He felt great, fine even! Though who would dare stand against the fearsome Jabberwock? A bandersnatch? Preposterous! No one one would dare to confront Dr. Jarvis this day.

Joe considered the Pair. SHOULD I FETCH SOMEONE? he asked.

Pilar came in and went to one of the computers and began to work on some things, she looked at Dr. Black “Everything okay?” She asked.

Head Nurse

Joe turned to look at Pilar, he knew her. That was good. I WONDER IF PERHAPS THE STARBASE STAFF HAVE BEEN DRINKING? he said apparently in aware of the spore in the air in the infirmary which had infected all in it and seemed to have turned Jarvis quite mad. He had never seen lost in space, the old earth movie. So the phrase Danger, danger will Robinson wouldn’t mean much for him. Otherwise, he would very well have grabbed Pilar and ran away with her to safety.

As the case was however he now watched the nurse carefully to see if she too would start acting strangely.

A wide, maniacal grin formed on Dr Jarvis’ face. He had a being before him that he had never encountered, nor even heard about. And every answer it gave, led to more questions. Curiouser and curiouser… there was only one way to get to the bottom of the matter. One surefire way to figure out how the beings seemingly impossible anatomy worked… He glanced around the drab grey room. No, this wouldn’t do, not in the slightest. Where was the style, the grandeur, macabre medical implements that glistened wickedly in the light of flickering bulbs? Or the padded rooms where victims were to be locked to await treatment? And the sound was all wrong too. There needed to be a background noise of inmates moaning, punctured every so often by the scream of some deranged individual or person undergoing surgery. No, this was all wrong… but he knew how to make it right.

While the robed figure was distracted, Dr Jarvis slinked around the room towards the cabinet containing the hyposprays. It was only when he withdrew a sedative and turned to look at Dr Black, that he realised the fatal flaw; there was no tissue to speak of into which he could administer the drug. He thought for a moment before an idea came to him. It was crude, but he lacked a better option. Picking up a relatively heavy medical tool from the cabinet, he snuck up behind the seven-foot skeleton. In one vicious swipe, he cracked Joe over the head with it.

Dr Jasperwock M.D. (murderously deranged)

Unknowing that Jarvis was the one to watch and not poor Pilar Joe Black had his head turned turned to face her. He was unaware of them’good doctors’ internal monologue or the fact that he too was ’intoxicated’. Indeed stealthy was the fabled jabberwock.

As the heavy implement cracked the heck of his skull his hood dropped down and for a second, nothing happened. Them as if suddenly realising exactly what had happened in a sort of delayed response the dentist said.

UHH…OW. and collapsed into an unconscious heap.

Pilar looked at Jarvis and then at Black, she simply went and got an antigrav sled and helped Jarvis load Black onto the gurney “Where to Doctor?” She asked simply as she covered Black with a sheet. She didn’t ask questions, she simply awaited orders.

Head Nurse

Because they were not busy enough with problems, the comm link chirped to life with a disruptive sound of a woman’s voice. “Commander Zeanar to infirmary, I have three officers who appear to be infected with mind altering substances. They will need to be beamed straight to you. Please make sure the transporters scan for bio-hazards and filter them out. And put them straight into isolation. I will follow shortly and lend a hand.”

Lt. Commander Ever Zeanar, CoP

Dr Jarvis ignored the call over the comlink and looked at Pilar. Well, it seems like this one might be useful. I suppose I can keep her intact… for now. Dropping the implement with which he had knocked out the dentist, he wandered over to the antigrav sledge. “Let’s head somewhere more suited to our task,” he replied and began pushing the unconscious skeletal being towards the door. Then as if an afterthought, his gaze fell upon the NE. “And bring her with you, willingly or otherwise. We may have need of a lab rat.”

Dr Jarvis then proceeded to leave the infirmary and head towards one of the holodecks. He had grand plans forming in his mind and now with a willing assistant, he could make them a reality. And the skeleton and the NE would be just the first inmates of many.

Pilar followed along with the doctor and grabbed a med kit as she left Sickbay. She said nothing as they walked “What great plans do you have for our friend here?” She asked quietly as they walked quickly toward the holodeck. She simply kept her head forward and she didn’t bother nodding at anyone as they passed by.

Head Nurse

The other NEs in the Infirmary began to shuffle about in a hurry as reports were coming in from all over the station about the mind altering substances that were spreading through the crew like wildfire.

There was reports of the “Queen and her throne” and still others about a missing carpenter. Stranger still there was one about a tea party in science. Had the whole station gone mad?!

OOC: Do we need to start a different thread then for the officers I just transported to medical? –Ty

OOC: I’ll start it.

OOC Lori: I’ll jump in to the new thread if that’s ok?

OOC: Sounds good Lori ! I have sent the CMO and NEs over. Jen and Ever should be around later –Ty
