The scans of the queen were consistent with lysergic acid diethylamide or psilocybin poisoning, activating many clusters of the brain all at once including those responsible for the sense of self and the sensory processing centers. She was, quite insane, though maybe it was all one big hallucination that took over her re-reality?

Oh yes what code was it again? Red. The station decided it was code red.

GM Wombat

Alexis sent the results from the tricorder to the main med bay and hoped that someone would see the results on the main screen in sickbay and do something with it. The captain and other members of the crew with her were suffering from lysergic acid diethylamide or psilocybin poisoning.

Lt. Bonner, AMO

As Jenyfer and the Pychiatrist arrived by teleport she frowned. There was a lot going on. “Apparently this hasn’t been an isolated incident.” She looked around for the ranking Doctor in the area. She needed to help and they needed to figure out what this was and make sure it was stopped as quickly as possible. A viral outbreak on a station was much more deadly than anyone considered. And sadly, it would spread swiftly if the path of contagion wasn’t discovered swiftly.

The ensign and the crewman looked at the new arrivals and the ensign (whose name has been forgotten) sighed in relief. “Oh thank goodness. Backup! I don’t know what’s going on exactly, but we might have a lead,” she said as she moved over to the screen with the results that Bonner had sent. “This is apparently a scan of the captain…”

“The Captain?” Brad asked. “You mean Her Grace, the Queen!” He paused and theatrically slapped his hand to the side of his head. “Oh dear, she is the important date for which I am now very, very late! She’ll have my head for sure!”

Cmdr. Dr. Brad Walker
Chief of Staff

Jenyfer recognized the man from earlier. Careful not to get close enough to be touched, she smiled and reassured the man. “No, no. She won’t have your head. She ordered everyone to remain here. This is where the important date is to be and tea will be along shortly. She is coming, not to worry.” She glanced back to the NE and shook her head. “So what are we looking at? Any idea how it’s spreading? If not by touch, I think we need to get some folks cleared and out of here so they can either warn or help others.”

Virologist

“Could be airborne,” the ensign said with a nod. “Containment may not be possible until we know how they coming into contact with this. I mean, tracing where these potential narcotics came from will be key. Do we know who all else is okay still? If the captain is down, what about Commander Myqian?”

~Med NEs

“Honestly, I just came aboard last night and had come looking for my check in and found Dr. Grayson with the Chief of Staff. I found him talking about having to get to tea before losing his head. Dr. Grayson seems fine, and I haven’t felt anything untowards. I still hate tea,” she laughed softly to ease the tension. “So I am guessing, at this point, it’s tactile contact that transmits. Otherwise I think a lot more folks would be affected.” She glanced around with her brain in high gear. “I haven’t checked in yet, but I am guessing that’s moot at this point. Let’s see to it everyone uses max protocols for contact contraction. That means double hand safeguards and arm coverings for those working with the inflicted. They last out enough we don’t want exposed arms to be a contact point. Also, let’s see if we can draw blood and try and figure out what this thing is.” She sent a couple nurses to do as she said and accepted the dual layer gloves and arm sleeves handed to her.

Glancing around the room as she put the protection on, she looked for the senior most Medical person available. Surely she wasn’t the only one here. Least… she hoped she wasn’t. As she moved to one of the consoles to get her bearings and see what had been logged so far, she saw the Main Screen lit up with a message that the AMO had determined it was lysergic acid diethylamide or psilocybin poisoning that was affecting them.

Suddenly Jenyfer laughed. “Hallucinogens…” She turned to the others and shook her head. “Test them for psilocybin poisoning. If that’s what they have, they all need showers and sleep. It will wear off in a few hours. We just need to find out how they got it and if it’s ‘on’ them, make sure it’s not transferable.” She shook her head once more and hoped that was all this was. The question now was How and why?. The fact that someone had affected the Command Staff was disconcerting. It meant this was more than a prank.

The Med NE’s nodded and, since they were still in their biohazard suits, moved over to the Chief of Staff to run scans and do a blood tox screen.

Not having had her comm badge activated yet, Jenyfer tapped the console. =^=This is Lieutenant JG Jenyfer Lynset, Sir. Pleasure to meet you. I’m the new Virologist. I believe we had an appointment for this evening,=^= she laughed softly, hoping to ease the tension a bit. =^= I’m in main medical with Dr Grayson who found the Chief of Staff and a couple others inflicted. I’m not sure who all I have down here, to be honest. But we’ve been told by the AMO that its a hallucinogen that is affecting folks. We are thinking touch contact spread and not airborne, since more of us aren’t afflicted.=^= She knew it was more than a sounding off, but he had to know what was going on and that was her reason for the short ramble.

Alexis bowed and pointing to two “cards” she sent them in front of her herding them towards the medical bay. She scanned the area and the two cards to see if she could figure out how they had been infected.

=^=Cmdr Myqian, this is Lt Bonner. I’m the new AMO. I just left Captian Taylor on the promenade. She’s been inflected with lysergic acid diethylamide or psilocybin poisoning.=^=

She stepped into the main medical bay right after finishing speaking to the XO. She looked around. “Anyone in here still sane?” She asked a hopefully.

Lt. Bonner, AMO

Jenyfer laughed. “I believe sane is a relative term.” The young virologist came towards the Lieutenant and smiled. “Lieutenant JG Jenyfer Lynset, the new virologist. I came across Doctor Grayson in the halls. She seems to be fine but the Chief of Staff and another weren’t so lucky.” She pointed to the ones the nurses were looking after.

“I got your message, we’ve isolated and I’ve recommended gloves and arm sleeves because it seems to be contracted by touch. Unless you’ve come up with more information.” She looked to the woman hopefully.

Alexis sighed a bit in relief. “Lt. Alexis Bonner, the new assistant chief medical officer. I just arrived to the star base, maybe 2 hours ago. I’d say it’s nice to meet you, but I’d rather wait for better circumstances. I ran into the captain…or whoever she is,” she shudders, “It’s like something out of a nightmare. These two” she points over to the two NEs “are ‘cards’? That’s what the Captain said anyway. I took several scans of the individuals on the promenade and on the way here.” She sets her tricorder into a docking port. “Hopefully there is something there.”

OOC Waiting on GM input from my other post.

Lt Bonner, AMO

Jen laughed. “I believe I have the pleasure of bringing the Mad Hatter here. Not sure who the other character was. Now I did some listening to the nurses, and these are characters of a novel by an old Earth author about rabbits and tea parties and a wicked queen? I am not familiar with the story, I fear, so I’m at a bit of a loss if we have all the characters.” An idea crossed her mind. “I wonder… if they are from a book, what if we round them all up in one of the holo suites and play the book out? I mean, they all seem to be eager about some tea party. What would happen if we let them have it?” She shrugged and wondered if she was going bonkers as well.

Lt JG Lynset
Virologist

Alexis thought about it. “If the problem is psychotropic that could work. The would need to sleep it off afterwards. I don’t think we could get them to go willingly. We would need to use the transporter. And set up the holodeck first. The book is Alice in Wonderland, and it’s HORRIBLE. Had to read it for school as a kid. Hated it! And now seeing it is even worse. Apparently our CO thinks she’s the evil queen. Do we know if the XO is infected as well? If not, if we could get him here, he could help us round them all up.”
Lt. Bonner, AMO

Jenyfer shook her head. “I don’t know his voice, but the name was right. I think he was the one who just called for a head check and he sounded well enough, if not a bit strained. But he wasn’t calling for anyone’s head that I could ascertain.” She smiled and looked around. “So this is a book? Cards, and queens and tea parties? It sounds horrible and I don’t even know what it’s about.” She laughed softly. “If we can get them rounded up, I think sleep might not be the best thing.” She put her hands on her hips and looked around as her brain worked over the issue.

Musing out loud she bit her lip. “This happened for a reason. And a single item, like the mushroom, putting them all in the same dillusion, regardless of where they were infected, means more is behind this than someone playing a prank. I think, sadly,” she looked at the AMO, “we need to play this out.” She sighed in resignation realizing it was going to be the longest check in she had ever had. “I also think I need your clearance and the XO’s so I can get my access codes and comms on line. I’m limited right now with no connection to the ship or consoles.” She laughed and shrugged like it was just another tick on the long list of things that need to happen asap if she is to be affective here.

Alexis sighed, “I’m not checked in yet either. So we need the XO.” Alexis tapped her combadge, =^=Cmdr Myqian, this is Lt. Bonner. Sir we could use your assistance down in the main med bay, if you aren’t held up elsewhere.=^= “Let’s start a scan for anything on the station that might cause psychotropic reactions.”
Lt. Bonner, AMO

“The XO is a woman, I believe,” Ever said as she finally joined the other doctors. It had taken awhile to find some scrubs and change out of her bikini. Hearing the call for the XO, she wasn’t too pleases as she had been trying her best to avoid the woman. Glancing between all the doctors who seemed to still be in control of their facilities, Ever was relieved that most of them seemed not to have been affected yet. “I have given you access to the computers Jenyfer. Rank and privilege and all that. Dr. Grayson and I are psychiatrist, but still medical doctors. Though I still believe that Dr. Bonner is in charge. So whatever you need, just let us know please. Any results back on the tests? Maybe we should run decontamination on the patients just to be on the safe side?”

Lt Commander Ever Zeanar, CoP

Mariah acknowledged the new officers with a polite but quick nod. If this were any other circumstance, she would’ve taken time to introduce herself properly, but as it was, they were all scrambling to understand just what was going on. She felt for the new arrivals, knowing it was one heck of a time to try and get oriented to a new ship and crew. Heading to a nearby computer, Grayson attempted to pull up everything she knew about hallucinogenic substances, which wasn’t insignificant considering she was a psychiatrist who had frequently evaluated and worked with drug offenders, but admittedly, she was most familiar with more sophisticated substances and had to search her brain and the computer for relevant information. In the meantime, she addressed the medical personnel nearby as well as Ever via com. “Treatment for this type of intoxication is typically letting the drugs run their course while keeping patients in a quiet safe place. We could normally recommend benzodiazepines to help manage the agitation, but I hesitate to do that until we have a clear idea of what is happening. Given the shared delusions, I am not convinced there isn’t more going on or that whatever they ingested was it laced with something else.”
