Myqian matched Zoi’s increase in pace easily and smiled at her. “I do forms of it. I’ve discovered many cultures have their own take on stretching exercises that build full body strength, so… I guess yes, I do. It’s been the easiest exercise to incorporate into my routine, because I could even take 5 mins between patients and stretch my body enough to not get stiff.” She too couldn’t guarantee her routine, but at least once a day she meditated. She could go a few days without it, but she always stated feeling a bit on edge after awhile.

“But there are days, when the frustrations are high and I’ve been overworking that I just need something… vigorous to help me relieve all the tension in my body. Do find that too?” Maybe Zoi did so much on a daily basis that it was never necessary, but every security officer had a different approach.

Zoi’s mind blanked for a moment at the idea of Dira doing something vigorous to relieve tension. Her imagination went wild for a few seconds before she reigned it in. She really had her mind in the gutter for a moment and clawed her way back up mentally. They were in a public place and exercising together. “I would agree. I work out nearly every day, but there are definitely times that I push really hard or choose something that will challenge me physically. It is one of many ways to relieve tension and stress. I am sure our myriad of doctors on the Ogawa would be first in line to agree it is a healthy and recommended practice.”

“And the therapists too!” Dira remarked. “Anxiety is often held in the body and sparks other unhealthy things. Moving your body a surefire way to calm everything down. At least a little.” She hadn’t missed the emotional shift in Zoi and while she might have felt bad about causing an unintentional reaction in someone else, in this case, it had bene very intentional. She figured if they were going to play this tight-rope game fo desire, they might as well commit to it fully. After all, the thing you couldn’t have in that moment was almost always more powerful than something you could. And it only worked because they had already established that it was very much mutual.

Keep it light. Keep it light She turned her head to look at Dira for a moment, willing herself not to look down at the woman’s fine physique. She cleared her throat. “Peace of mind however, is harder to achieve I think. It requires discipline and focus.”

As they jogged, Dira had found an easy rhythm she was comfortable with and had no intention of moving from it. “Hmmm, that is certainly true. I would say that self-awareness goes a long way as well,” she said, focusing on the dappled light hitting their forest trail and the birds chirping from the tree branches.

She thanked whomever might be listening in the wide world of gods, that Dira had not made another heavily tempting comment. For the moment at least, she had the time to calm her butterflies and the intense desire Dira’s remarks had flared in her. IF she was the kind of woman who could blush, she would have been… profusely. Years and years on security had her body unlearning that physical response. There were many days she was thankful for her job, and today was no exception. She wanted to pin Dira against a tr..... Woah! Stop.

Self awareness. They were speaking of peace of mind and self awareness. Zoi tried to concentrate on the subject. The physical aspects of running were automatic for her, having done the exercise so much in her many years of life. Her brain however, was acting like a randy teenager. “Self awareness I have, peace of mind has been a struggle lately though. Someone keeps intruding on my thoughts. And by intruding, I mean wholly welcome distractions.”

She grinned and kept running.

Nodding slightly, but more to herself, Dira smiled. “Well, funny that, I’ve been having the same problem. And it’s hard because I am normally so composed and I’m generally so private at first that I’ve been struggling to reconcile what’s happening to me. And for all that I ever counselled my patients to find ways to let the past go, I’m staring at my own reckoning. It’s uncomfortable, but I truly feel that if I can just make it over this hurdle that the rewards would be more incredible than I could have ever imagined.”

While Zoi was happy to hear that Dira was struggling a little with the same problem she was having, for they really had to be talking about each other, she was loath to cause the other woman strife. It sobered her a bit and helped in reining in her infatuation. She thought about this for a moment before she could bring herself to reply, allowing the trail to guide them both along its route.

She did not know what history Dira had, but she remembered Dira mentioning baggage before. Some people had a past that they struggled with daily. Zoi didn’t have any of them in regards to intimate relationships. Her life was far from easy but relationships had never been the complicated part. She looked over at her running partner and gave her a kind close lipped smile before she said, “That can be quite difficult. Sometimes, its a stream to cross and sometimes its a mountain to climb. I know I am not the cause, but I am sorry for any discomfort this causes you. I will gladly be a listening ear should you desire one.”
