Tija thought she knew where Dr. Grayson was going with her idea and thus gave her a nod. Turning towards Walker once again she said, “We can get you some tea and heard that there is a tea party in the science lab. Maybe our search for your pocket will take us there.”

Taking a few steps towards Grayson, Tija lowered her voice and added, “If we do, we can see what is actually going on there. I don’t like it that we haven’t really had any reports from there. It doesn’t bode well in my opinion.” Glancing briefly towards Walker once more, she asked, “How would you like to proceed from here.”

Jenyfer had been working on what samples she had and was just putting the end results into the bio readers as the others followed their own leads. In a few moments, she hoped, they would know if a cure could be synthesized off the blood work she had taken from the infected.

It wouldn’t take long for something of a cure to be identified. Basic anti-fungal treatments worked to clear it up in the blood samples however, it would take a while to replicate enough hyposprays to clear all of the infected, which reports calculated to be about 60% of the crew of the Ogawa and the station.

Alexis looked over the number. “Okay we need to get people out of the areas affected by this thing. 60% of the crew is a lot. We need rebreathers on everone. Some of us are going to have to go out and get them on people. We have no idea of continued breathing of the spores in makes it worse. So we’ll have to find a way to get the infected crew to wear theirs, or get them all into sickbay so they are on a clean air filtration system. And we don’t have that much room.” She looked over at Jennyfer, “How much long before you know if there is an antidote?”
OOC: Didn’t want to take that away from you, from telling us. You’ve been working hard on it.
IC:
Alexis looked around, “Computer, where is the XO now?” She wanted to make sure the XO and anyone with her hadn’t gotten caught by any of the infected crew, or gotten infected themselves.

“Indeed,” Tija replied, the frown on her pale face deepening. “Could we make one of the cargo bays run on an isolated air filtration system and thus create a triage centre there so that we have the space for everyone?” With part of her specialty being emergency medicine, her brain went straight into crisis mode and she started to run through options in her mind how to handle mass infections best. They definitely should get everyone infected in one or two places so that they not only could treat everyone properly but also know where everyone was at any given time. With people behaving erratic and unpredictable that was even more important than during other types of medical emergencies.

Myqian stepped in with Bob, Oscar, and Cai just in time to hear Alexis’ comment. “She’s here, such as she is,” Dira said through her rebreather just as the computer confirmed her location as being in the Infirmary. While she had met most of the people in the med space so far, there were a couple she had not.

“Sorry it took us so long. We picked up a few people along the way. Where are we at?” she asked, her outward demeanour entirely in control. However, the XO was definitely under strain and her mind was on overdrive trying to filter and focus.

Stepping to the side to give everyone else space, Dira bent forward slightly and braced her hands on her thighs, taking deep breaths. “And I wouldn’t say no to a psilosynine blocker at the moment. It’s a madhouse out there, quite literally, especially around the crew quarters, and I’m… struggling.”

Commander Myqian, XO

Without saying a word, Tija headed quickly over to Myqian, picking up a hypospray and the psilosynine blocker on the way. Placing one hand on the XO’s shoulder, she pressed the hypospray gently against her neck and as she released the medication, said, “There. This should help.”

~Lt. Tija Aizala, Doctor (med leave)

“Thank you,” Dira breathed, exhaling in acute relief. She stood upright and closed her eyes for a brief moment as she adjusted to the weird absence of other people in her mind. It wouldn’t last a long time, but hopefully long enough that they could put a plan into effect and she could stay mentally functional the whole time.

“You’re welcome Commander,” Tija replied with a nod and a small smile.

“Cmdr Myqian,” Alexis greeted from inside her biosuit. She motioned the entirety of the new arrivals into the decontamination area to be processed. And then she motioned Tija to disinfect as well since she had touched the XO before they were cleared. If she had been closer she would have done the same as Tija, and she would have gone into decontamination with them as well. They had ideas, but no diffenitive proof of how this thing chose it’s victims, so over cautious was the word of the day. While they were doing that she gave the XO an update. “Jennyfer has identfied the contagion as a fungus. It’s most likely in the air ducts somewhere. She has also created a antifungal for it, but it will take time to synthesize and get it to everyone. We have sent general orders for everyone to put on a rebreather. Dr. Zenner has a theory about how this mass hallucination is being transmitted, but we need to find ground 0 before we proceed. Was there any place in particular you passed that seemed to have more infected than anywhere else?”
Lt. Bonner, AMO

Dira listened as she moved into decon with everyone else. She nodded to Bonner. “Yes, crew quarters on the deck below the Infirmary. The mental chaos was a lot stronger. Overwhelmingly so.”

Commander Myqian, XO

Tija nodded curtly towards Bonner and after disinfecting her hands head back towards Grayson and Walker. She gave a psychiatrist a small, apologetic smile for briefly walking away from her without saying a word.

While they finished the decontamination Alexis requested a scan from the computer. “Computer run a level 2 scan on the crew quarters on the deck below us, include the in between decks jeffries tubes and the air ventelation system.” She looked over at the officers scanning the security feed. “Pause anywhere else and concentrate on the crew quarters feeds. Let’s see if we can find the original person or persons infected, and then we can move outwards from there.”
Lt. Bonner, AMO

Jenyfer smiled at the XO as they arrived then joined in the conversation. “A basic anti fungal works as something of a cure. It will keep it at bay till we can recycle and purge the spores in the air and get everyone into a state of rest to clear the rest out. But it’s gonna take a while to get enough hypos to wander the ship with. I have the system working on them now. I’m thinking maybe 20 minutes before we have enough to make a foray out into the halls worth it.”
