=/\= We’ll check into it Commander. McGarrett out. =/\= He then turned to the newest member of the crew. “Commander Bragason, see if you can find any evidence of transporter activity on Deck 13. Or anything that seems unusual.”

Captain Mathias McGarrett, CO

Baldur had started to answer the strange woman as the communique came. “Yes sir,” He said as he started another internal scan this time searching for transporter activity “I never expect anything” He explained as he worked apparently not minding the Stranger “I’d hoped to find what the Romulans were referencing to earlier and to assist my fellow crewmembers with various other tasks” He said without looking up “Who is asking?” He deep base made his tone seem more adverserial than he’d intended.

The woman took a step back and leaned against a railing. “Oh, just someone who found something very interesting about what was just said.” Opening a hand that had been curled into a fist, she examined a piece of broken stone that was not there when she closed it. “After all, it isn’t every day that one decides to contact a dead world.” Meanwhile, the scan for transporter activity came up as negative.

Mr. Snuggles (GM)

Baldur gave the woman a queer look as he read the results of his scan. “Sir, no transporter activiy detected” He informed the Captain.

=^=Stone to Ops. We have additional chronitons located around our Klingon friend in Sickbay. The working theory right now is we have some sort of time travel issue going on. I have the klingon in a level 10 forcefield and will try to dissapate the particles.=^=

Mathias tapped his combadge. =^= Understood Doctor. Keep me posted as you learn more. McGarrett out. =^=

The captain looked closer at the item in the woman’s hand before starting another communication. =^= McGarrett to Commander Teller. That’s a negative on transporter activity. But we do have a piece of broken stone in Ops that I believe may have value. =^=

=/\=Captain we are headed your way=/\=

Lt. Commander Jessica Teller XO

After the conversation with the first officer was over, Matthias looked at strange visitor. It felt like a poker game. If he only paid close enough attention, somehow he might glean something about her cards that she didn’t seem willing to tell him. He asked, “What do you mean contact a dead world? Is that what we’ve done somehow? What world are you talking about?”

Captain Mathias McGarrett, CO

Baldur switched between looking at the Strange woman and the Captain. Today was turning out to be rather interesting first day out here in the border zone.

SOO - Baldur

“My my, so many questions.” The woman stopped tossing the stone before giving Mathias a wink. “It’s a good think that I like you.” She shrugged. “As for the answer, I believe that one should just look to the stars, or the lack there of one.” Her eyes glazed over a bit, a memory seemingly coming to mind. “After all, one does not extinguish a star unless there has been or shall be a terrible cost, one that makes the discussion that you just had quite interesting.”

Mathias smiled ever so slightly. The woman didn’t seem to have an interest in making this a simple conversation. “Men always have a way of coming right out and saying what they’re thinking. It’s kind of handy, but it’s hardly fun if there’s no challenge.”

Mathias’s tone quickly became somber. “You’re talking about the Romulan star and their planet. Yes, there certainly was a terrible cost. Billions of lives and for many their home. Not being Romulan, never having been there, counting them as something of an enemy…even still it was an event that shook everyone I knew when it happened. It changes you. Their world may be dead. But they are anything but.”

Captain Mathias McGarrett, CO

Toveka followed the XO and Duncan as they moved to Ops. She didn’t like where this was going, but she knew she had to stick thru it. Whatever else was happening, she knew it had to be tied to the destruction of her planet. And for that, she would do nearly anything to figure out.

Jessica and her group entered the room seeing the woman there. This was going to be a game of catch up which was never fun. Luckily the Captain was here from the start.

Baldur only monitored the conversation with slight interest, most of his attention was focused on his duties. He continued the general scans of the area and monitoring the Stations status. He was still struggling with whatever those Romulans were talking about earlier, so far he’d not seen any weapons fire in the immidiate area.

SOO - Baldur

Toveka walked in a half step in front of Duncan and their guest. She hadn’t caught the precursor, but she caught the tale end of the Captains comment. “We are most certainly not.” It wasn’t indignation, but an affirmative and confirmation that leant the tone to her words.

” I believe you have a piece of the broken tablet in here for some reason?” She was hanging around as if expecting someone to step from the shadows and admit they’d been caught.

The woman half smiled upon seeing the new arrivals, but instead continued to address the Captain, “Strange then how they decide to contact Romulus of all places, and not any other colonies. After all, there is no one there to receive anything. At least not any more. Either they are very confused, or…” She trailed off, seemingly wanting someone else to finish her statement.

Mr. Snuggles (GM)

Mathias motioned with his hands towards Toveka, quickly acting out with them the slow and steady scanning done with a tricorder that pointed towards the woman. Probably not a very subtle move, but that was alright. He turned back towards the visitor. “Or perhaps they know something you don’t? Perhaps they know of who should receive it.” Maybe if he was crypic too that would somehow help. Probably not, but maybe it was worth a try.

Captain Mathias McGarrett, CO

The woman tsked, shaking her head at the Captain, “I’m rather disappointed with you Captain, trying to find out all of a girl’s secrets during your first meeting.” With a fix, the tricorder started showing off completely random readings, although for some reason the level of chronometric particles were still displayed correctly. Turning her attention to Toveka, the woman held up the stone, it having reappeared in her hand. “I assume that you are searching for this? Quite interesting this type of stone, being able to store massive amounts of energy, something you would have been able to figure out had you time to scan the stone.” Her eyes glimmered. “I shall give it to you on one condition. You must correctly solve the conundrum that your Captain has not. Why are the Romulan’s acting the way they are? Acting so aggressive, contacting a dead world, many pieces of the puzzle, but only one way to fit together.”

Mr. Snuggles (GM)

“Either they are very confused, or they are dead,” Jessica gave it a stab. She had no idea what this meant. The planet was gone but not the people. Was the woman talking about some homing device when she showed Toveka the stone. It might explain her cryptic reference to reaching out to all the Romulans.

Lt. Commander Jessica Teller XO

“Who decided to contact Romulus? Because I assure you, not all of us are dead.” Perhaps it was the stress of so many others having access to pieces of her planet that she didn’t even know had been saved. Or perhaps it was the almost nonchalant, blase attitude the woman has, but Toveka’s response was a bit more clipped and aggressive than usual. Those around who knew her would most certainly notice.

Without so much as a not to the Captain, the young half Romulan flipped open the scanner from her hip and turned it on the visitor. She did focus a bit more on the stone in the woman’s hand, but made no effort to hide her scan of the rest of the woman. She then held out her hand as the scanner made its assumptions. “Well if you’ll be so kind, I’ll take the stone now and study it further. As to why anyone is trying to contact anyone here, perhaps we should follow the signal and see where it originated and where it’s heading. Perhaps there is a ship beyond the debris field, or the signal is so old and from so far away that it was sent prior to…” She tried to keep her computer before continuing, “prior to what happened.”

She didn’t know who this woman was, it where she’s come from, much less her reason for being here. But at this very moment, Toveka only one she wanted the fragment and to be out of that room.

Toveka

“How long has it been since you were on Romulus,” Jessica asked almost tentatively. Slowly stray thoughts began to piece together in her mind. The image of the Enterprise, her comments about Romulus, the strange people being reported about the ship as if it were some movie set. Jessica waited for her to reply before she said anything else. Duncan could explain the science behind what Jessica was thinking if her theory was correct.

Lt. Commander Jessica Teller XO

“Now that is an interesting question.” The woman smiled at Jessica, ignoring the others, “Half of me has not, while the other half had quite the adventure there a long time ago. It was not the best visit, as one of the locals and I had a… disagreement.”

Mr Snuggles (GM)

“Half of you,” Jessica gave the woman a warm smile. She didn’t seem to be hostile so Jessica was reminded of the old adage that one kills more flies with honey than vinegar. “As in your better half or partner? It’s an old expression from where I am referring to your spouse. If that who you are referring to as the one who visited there?”

Lt commander. Jessica teller. XO

“I wouldn’t say that she is our better half.” The woman giggled, “In fact, she was quite the troublemaker before we met today, always causing a little bit of chaos.”

Mr Snuggles (GM)

“Okay,” Jessica scratched her head trying to figure out how to get a straight answer out of the woman. For a brief second, she thought about Aedan. Not that she missed him but more his constant request to just say what she wanted and not make it a guessing game. “So can we get a name and not play let’s guess the person by the pronoun?”

Lt commander. Jessica Teller. XO

“Danala Rele.” The woman gave up the name with barely a fight, but what she said next was less straightforward, “But you should know that already. After all, you have been searching for her all this time.”

Mr. Snuggles (GM)

As soon as Baldur heard the name he started a general search through the stations files for any reference, He wasn’t familiar with it but then of course he’d been there less than an hour. He looked between the Captain and first officer, whatever was going on needed some deeper understanding of the goings on than he possessed.

Baldur - SOO

Searching up the name, Baldur would find that the name was the same as the missing Trill woman who had disappeared earlier.
