Main Sim - Shuttle Bay - Bait and Switch

Posted Nov. 4, 2020, 11:53 p.m. by Lieutenant Commander Jessica Teller (XO) (Kate O'Neill)

SNIP

Tenkiller materialized in the shuttle bay, and raised his rifle while surveying the area. Seeing one of the auxiliary shuttles, he sprinted towards it and went inside, locking the door behind him. He began to power up the craft and activated the comms. =^= Tenkiller to Transporter Room. Keep a lock on me and an open Channel. When I say engage, get me off of her asap. Confirm, Transporter. =^= he finished, wanting to be sure they understood the drill.

Tenkiller, CoS

The shuttle powered up and Tenkiller took the craft out of the bay and at full impulse away from the station. As he cleared the forcefield, he turned on the tricorder and unsealed the chip and Klingon brain matter. On an open frequency, he said =/\= This is Tenkiller! I retrieved the chip and am en route to the USS Tribune for assistance! =/\= He then watched his sensors and waited to see if the invaders took the bait.

Tenkiller, CoS

Unknown to most, the Romulan ship had been strangely silent, and now it could be seen why. There was a massive hole through the centre of it, which a large golden ship shaped like a spear was sticking out of. Noticing his shuttle, certain parts on the outside began to glow.

Mr. Snuggles (GM)

Tenkiller scanned the golden vessel quickly and then initiated evasive maneuvers. Activating the decoy life sign and chip signal, he sent a secure comm to the Transporter room. =/\= Transporter, get me outta here now! =/\= and he set the autopilot to begin a countdown to jump to warp.

Tenkiller, CoS

bump

It seemed as though the golden ship had better sensors than the people on the station, for as soon as Tenkiller had transported out, a beam of golden energy lanced out from the tip of the ship and cut clean through the shuttle.

Mr. Snuggles (GM)

“Did we get him,” Jessica asked the transporter engineer seeing the beam out starting and the destruction of the ship. Tenkiller’s plan was risky but it also was the best chance they had.

Lt. Commander Jessica Teller XO

Bump

The lights swirles on the transporter pad and Tenkiller materialized. He blinked and then comically patted himself as if checking to make sure all his limbs were attached. With a cupping motion below his abdomen, he smiled and winked and said “All present and accounted for. That was a bit close for comfort.” and he stepped forward and looked at the XO.

Jessica could not help but laugh at Tenkiller’s reaction as she shook her head with a smile. The ease at which the crew flipped between relaxed friends and consummate officer spoke to the years they both worked and socialized together. It is what allowed them to function so in sync with each other. “So we got the line of lineage here safe and sound but what about the chip?”

“Did they buy it? Did they think we were running off with their toy?” he asked as he patted the small Faraday case with the actual chip inside.

Tenkiller, CoS

“Scanning now and for our sakes I pray yes.” Jessica looked at her console to see if the golden ship was setting course or taking aim at the station.

Lt. Commander Jessica Teller XO

Tenkiller moved to stand next to the XO and look at the display. He pulled up the current station status as well, checking to see where the intruders were and what the status of the repelling of them was.

Tenkiller, CoS

Jessica gave a side glance to Tenkiller and fought not to smile. “Too close,” was all she could say in a breathy half laugh waiting for the display results. “You sure your name isn’t Ladykiller instead of Tenkiler,” she winked at him. Tenkiller’s humor was part Jessica liked most about the security chief. He never failed to make her smile at least once a day.

Lt. Commander Jessica Teller XO

“Only an Saturdays…” the Osage Security Chief replied. He watched the feeds for any sign of their guests.

Tenkillet, CoS

bump

Scanners showed that the enemy was not running off in pursuit of the shuttle, and instead was attempting to dislodge itself from the Romulan vessel. Apparently parts of the ships had fused together during the impact, and thus gave some breathing room to the Outpost.

Mr. Snuggles (GM)

Jessica looked at the console reading the information being displayed. “It seems our friends are in a pickle. Look,” she pointed to the screen. “It seems our friends are buried in the Romulan vessel like a tick.”

Lt. CommanderJessicaTellerXO

Tenkiller looked and did a quick assessment. “Is the warp core on the Romulan ship still functional? And do we have any life signs aboard either ship?” and he began running another scan.

Tenkiller, CoS

“I am not detecting any issues with the singularity core,” Jessica reported, “but I can’t be certain. The shields might by blocking any ruptures. Scanning for life signs now,” Jessica reported

Lt. Jessica Teller XO

There were still a few life signs from the Romulan ship, especially in the areas that were not breached by the giant golden ship piercing through it. Also, while the singularity core seemed to be operational, shields were down, and a distress call was being received.

Mr. Snuggles (GM)

Tenkiller cursed loudly and then said “Okay. Let’s get those folks outta there first. Get the frequency of the Romulan ship’s shield modulation and then we can try to put a hole in it long enough to establish a transporter lock. Remote into the cargo transporter and we may be able to pull most out at once. If that doesn’t work, I’ll hit the shield with a tachyon pulse from the station’s deflector array. That should take out the shield, but I dunno how much damage it will do past that.”

Tenkiller, CoS

“Scanning ship to lock on life signs.” Jessica spoke out loud as she punched the controls to bring up cargo transporters instead of the regular transporters. =/\=Romulan ship prepare to transport off survivors=/\= Jessica stated into the comms.

Lt. Commander Jessica Teller XO

Tenkiller readied the pulse and looked over to Teller. “Tell me when, and I’ll drop the shields… I hope.”

Tenkiller, CoS

It sounded like the voice on the other hand was about to snap back, but the sound of a scuffle had them quickly replaced by another. “This is acting Sub-Commander Volar, taking over from our recently deceased leader. All survivors ready to beam off.”

Mr. Snuggles (GM)

=/\=Understood Sub-Commander =/\= Jessica replied to Volar. Switching off the comms she looked at Tenkiller. “Since we aren’t sure how the recently deceased leader met his demise let’s transport them somewhere secure like the security conference room?” The Sec con room was as secure as a bank vault and had more firepower outside the door than some colonies had for an army. Not sure exactly what was going on, Jessica didn’t want to take any chances. “Care for a field trip to your neighborhood,” she asked the security chief?

Lt. Commander Jessica Teller XO

“Rock and Roll, Commander! Let’s do this thing!” He locked the station’s weapons array on the core of the Romulan vessel and then looked at Teller. “Get ‘em off now and I’ll blow the core. That should sufficiently f%!$k up the other ship enough to garner some attention, at least.” Tenkiller’s eyes narrowed and he readied to fire.

Tenkiller, CoS

=/\=Locking on your survivors and preparing to beam you over to the Outpost,=/\= Jessica replied to the Sub-Commander as she activated the controls sending the Romulan crew to the security office.

Lt. Commander Jessica Teller XO

=/\= Tenkiller to Ensign Halstead. Incoming transports from the Romulan vessel. Hold them in protecti e custody for the time being. =/\= As soon as the life signs were clear of the ship, Tenkiller launched a phaser barrage and a Salvo of torpedoes directly at the core of the ship.

Tenkiller, CoS

“Effective but maybe just a teensy wincey overkill,” Jessica watched the barrage streaking towards the ships. “Ready to go meet our friends,” she added almost as an afterthought.
