The captain walked in, both hands firmly gripping the rifle Tenkiller had given him earlier. He approached Teller and Tenkiller and said, “I hope I didn’t keep you waiting. Always distracting when you run into a famous nineteenth century inventor in the corridor.”

Captain Mathias McGarrett, CO

Tenkiller shot the Captain a look that said Explanations are needed, but later. and then indicated the Romulans with a gesture. “Captain McGarrett, this is the Subcommander and some of her crew we rescued from the ship before, well… you know. She hasn’t given us a name yet, but has been cooperative in our discussions as to what has occurred.” he turned to the Subcommander. “Ma’am, this is the station’s Commanding Officer Captain McGarrett.”

Baldur brought up the rear with Toveka and the mustachioed Serbian-American. He gave Tenkiller a friendly nod and looked at the Romulans with a slightly odd expression on his face but kept his questions to himself for now.

Jessica nodded to her fellow officers entering the room. Maybe having it in the security office was no longer a good idea. The room wasn’t overly large. If any more people came in there would be standing room only.

Lt. Commander Jessica Teller XO

“Welcome to Outpost 42, Subcommander,” said Mathias, who ever so slightly bowed his head as he greeted her. “You are in Command I take it? I trust you have been made aware of our situation here. What is the condition of your crew?”

Captain Mathias McGarrett, CO

As the Captain began speaking to the Subcommander, Tenkiller motioned for the remaining security officers to move out of the room “Full sweep of the station. Every corner, every conduit, every henhouse, outhouse, and doghouse, ya hear? Go, git.” he said quietly and they nodded and left the area.

Tenkiller, CoS

The Romulan gestured to her crew. “As you can see, those that made it are in relatively good condition. By order of the previous subcommander, we sealed off the parts of the ship with the most casualties and injured, so those left are in fairly good shape. As for the situation, it appears that someone is messing with our location at the very least, as the last I remember, there was still a Romulus. When we were attacked, we attempted to establish contact with the planet, but apparently there was no response at all. Imagine our surprise when some old communication relays informed us that it no longer existed.”

Mr. Snuggles (GM)

Tenkiller caught the statement and turned and looked at the Subcommander. “Ma’am, if I may… what was the stardate when you were attacked, as far as you knew?”

Tenkiller, CoS

Baldur turned to listen in on their answer, it had been nearly ten years since Romulus was destroyed. He knew a great many Romulans who lost their lives that day, good people. It must have been quite a shock for them to discover their homeworld had been destroyed.

More and more it was seeming like this was a temporal issue on top of another one. The relic had to have some role in it since all this started the minute Jessica and the science team looked at them. “Also where were you when the attack started? I know that sounds like an insane question but the attack did not happen outside the Outpost door with all of us sleeping on the job. I will admit I wasn’t on the bridge all day but what happened and where were you just before the alien ship attacked?”

The subcommander frowned before replying. “56845.6. Sometime after the… incident in 56844.9, we were sent off to patrol the Neutral Zone after the previous subcommander made some rather interesting comments about how it was handled.”

Mr. Snuggles (GM)

OOC: GM, what would the current stardate be for the Outpost?

James

Baldur looked at the Romulan “Shinzon” He said quietly “I’m assuming it was either regarding the new post-Shinzon regime or how the ordeal itself was handled” He said with a serious expression. Romulan politics was a mysterious thing but he understood some of it from conversations with some old Romulan friends.

SOO - Baldur

Jessica tried to conceal her frown. The subcommanders comment about being basically sent away for comments had her on edge. What was clear was that whatever side the subcommnder’s crew were one it wasn’t with the popular one. “If I may,” she held up a finger. “You said the previous subcommander made some rather interesting comments that sent you to neutral zone patrol....does that mean he was injured before you showed up here or because you showed up here?” The difference could mean the world. If the previous subcommander died or was killed that meant the Romulan sitting across from her either supported the current Romulan politics or wanted to rebel possibly. She needed to know if they were still giving aide or just let an insurgent on the Outpost.

Teller. XO

The Subcommander shook her head. “No, he was perfectly fine, as the patrol duty was punishment enough for him. His injuries occurred when we were attacked by that golden ship.”

Mr. Snuggles (GM)

“I’m sorry to hear that, Subcommander,” said Mathias as he couldn’t help but think back to years ago when he lost an officer under his command for the time. This was no time, however, to dwell on that mistake in judgment. Nor could he afford to focus too much on empathy for the Romulan before him now. “Perhaps you can help us, as we were boarded by a force from that ship as well. Do you know why they attacked you? Did you have something of value that they wanted by chance?”

Captain Mathias McGarrett, CO

OOC: So after a large amount of searching, in our years, Nemesis happened in 2379, and the ‘current’ year according to the club rules is 2397.

The Romulan shook her head. “As I have told your friends, I have no idea. They were hostile from the start, although I assume that we were simply in their way, and their fastest way forward was to go through us.”

Mr Snuggles (GM)

“This is going to come off way more condescending and intrusive than I actually mean but who is in command of the Romulan Star Empire?” Jessica knew this would appear to be more interrogative than inquisitive but they needed to know exactly where and when this ship came into their timeline.

Lt. Commander Jessica Teller XO

With the room so full, Toveka had settled on the fringes, near the door, with Tesla. As the conversation turned to Romulus, and she realized these folks had come from before, she shivered and moved to hear better. “Time travel?” she half whispered under her breath. Tesla, if he was close enough, would hear. But doubtful anyone else would. Seeing Tenkiller made her heart skip a beat once more. She was going to have to find time to speak more with him once things settled again. But for now, seeing him safe, was going to have to suffice.

She stood by, unaware she was half holding her breath, as she waited for the conversation with the subcommander to continue.
