Paige responded to the Captain herself =^=Sir, she states that she is trying to slow down the intruders on the ship, however, I am attempting to find out just how she is doing that.=^= Paige stated as she watched the woman “So how are you slowing down the intruders and what do they want?” She asked

The captain’s concise reply came over her comm. =^= Understood. Find out all you can from her, Doctor. McGarrett out. =^=

Captain Mathias McGarrett, CO

The woman guested to the door. “They want me. They are descendants of those who my brother used to seal me away the first time, and it appears that they are going to try the same thing again.” She shrugged. “Although now that I have a more corporeal form, I don’t know how well that would go. As for how I am slowing them down, it has to do with the fact that my abilities are still rather unstable. I have mostly uncontrolled bursts of time energy, but am able to direct them to an extent, bringing in those would be a benefit instead of a detriment.”

Mr. Snuggles (GM)

Paige looked at the door “So why do they want to seal you away again? What does your brother have against you?” Paige asked wondering now if they had another concern that they needed to be worried about, this being before them. =^=Captain, the intruders are looking specifically for the entity in Sickbay. They are wanting to seal her away. I am attempting to ascertain if she needs our protection.=^=

The familiar voice of the captain replied. =^= Very well, Doctor. Also, let me know if you figure out who the good guys are and who the bad guys are. And if you come across any broken fragments, secure them. =^=

Captain Mathias McGarrett, CO

“My brother is obsessed with order, and being chaos, I am the antithesis to his existence. Even in my current, less chaotic form, I still represent a threat to him that he cannot ignore.” The woman shrugged. “All of the things that part of me did in my previous life probably does not help my case either.”

Mr. Snuggles (GM)

“Where is your brother now? If you are family, isn’t there some way you could resolve your issues?” asked Vak, probably hopelessly. If there was a course in the Academy that covered how to bring back together feuding immortal siblings it wasn’t one he had taken.

Ensign Dabor Vak, Nurse

The woman just laughed. “Knowing my brother, he is most likely skulking on the latest planet his cult has set up on. As for our issues, I am more than willing to let bygones be bygones. However, he is a lot more rigid in his ways of thinking. He almost destroyed a solar system trying to get rid of me once.”

Mr. Snuggles (GM)

Paige listened to what the woman was saying “Ok…So you have a brother hell bent on putting you back in some prison and he is trying to destroy this station in order to do that?” She asked to clarify what was going on “Does that sum it up?” She asked “So who do we consider to be the good guys and the bad guys and some how I believe you and want to help you.” She said looking at Vak “So, how is the best way to do that?”

CMO

“Well,” began Vak, glancing at the woman and then back to Paige. “She did say that she was a prisoner who deserved her sentence and that she was pure chaotic energy. But then again she wasn’t the one who sent the armed invasion force to the Outpost. Perhaps there are no ‘good guys’ in this one.”

Ensign Dabor Vak, Nurse

There was a moment as the woman flipped open her fan. “As a partially newly born entity, I would like to argue that the sentence doesn’t quite apply to me anymore. After all, I have purpose now, I’m not just some formless force trying to cause chaos everywhere. In any case, the main thing that we can do to foil his little plot is gather up the pieces of the tablet and destroy it. Not only will my powers stabilize, meaning that random events will stop happening out of control, but my brother’s forces will have no more reason to be here with it gone. I’d do this all myself, but the cursed thing won’t allow me to touch most of it.”

Mr. Snuggles (GM)

“I’m not sure that would be ethical actually,” began Vak, who was mulling whether or not it was appropriate to be speaking up. He wasn’t sure why it took him so long to realize the problem with ethics that they had here, but it wouldn’t have been right for him to say nothing. His duty was to his patients. “That would mean that your fusing with the Trill patient would be permanent. She was not dead. She was very much still alive. She has a right to her life in the form it was. Without her consent we can’t permit you to permanently transform her into some other kind of being.” Vak took a deep breath, unsure of where the conversation would go from here or exactly what kind of trouble he was opening himself up to. But it didn’t matter. He was a nurse, and his duty and his oath weren’t things he could ignore.

Ensign Dabor Vak, Nurse

A pained look crossed the woman’s face. “Do you know my medical history Nurse? I was supposed to be the recipient of a Trill Symbiont but I was rejected during the process. While I might have looked alive, I was in a broken state, my mind in shambles. When I came with the option of becoming one, I gladly accepted it. We were to broken halfs that became one whole. Separate us, and you risk the death of one or the other.” She snapped her fan closed and stared straight into his eyes. “You man believe me to be lying, that this is all a trick to keep myself away from that wretched prison. Of course there is most likely proof in your records, but with your Captain assembling my prison, I’m not sure how much time you have to confirm it. The question I pose to you is this: What will you put faith in? Your Starfleet ideals, or those of paranoia?”

Mr. Snuggles (GM)

Anger welled up within Vak, his eyes locked on the woman as she spoke. “My homeworld was occupied by beings of the likes of you. They thought, just like you do, that imposing their own will on another’s was completely appropriate if it met their needs. The medical records are irrelevant. This patient has not consented clearly of her own will to cease her life as it was.” He was tempted to go on, but he felt like he had said enough to make his point. Vak knew through and through that he wasn’t abandoning his Starfleet ideals. He was being guided by them.

Ensign Dabor Vak, Nurse

The captain’s familiar voice came over the comm. =/\= McGarrett to Doctor Stone. Doctor, do you have any more of the fragments at your location? =/\=

Captain Mathias McGarrett, CO

Paige looked at the woman before answering McGarrett “Do we have any fragments here, other than you?” She asked the woman =^=Captain, we’re attempting to ascertain that right now. I believe the woman that is in Sickbay might hold many of the answers to our current situation, however, I think that there is much more going on here than just what we have been told by either side. =^= She said =^=Currently, I am offering her sanctuary in Sickbay until I have more information. I will notify you when I have found any fragments that we have here in Sickbay.=^= She said, knowing that she was putting her career on the line.

She looked at the woman “I suggest that we come up with a plan quickly and I hope that I have put my faith in the correct side of this.” She said looking at Vak and the being.

A baking pan appeared in the woman’s hands, a mixture of sorts in it. “You continue to refer to me as if I am only the being that caused all of the chaos long ago, and just possessing this woman’s body. Yet, what even makes up someone. As a force of chaos, I had no true mind to speak of. I was more animal than sentient. When I fused with me, I gained the ability to think, to feel, to love, to cry, to hate, to argue. I am as much myself as I was before, just… more. When you make a cake, do you not create something new out of the ingredients?” The pan blurred before reappearing as a cake. “If you truly wish to still separate me, it is my right as a sentient being to defend myself.” She let out a hard laugh. “Although, perhaps I shouldn’t be wasting my breath. The last time this happened, I believe in the Delta Quadrant, the other didn’t get to live either, but there is a difference between them and me.” She leaned forward, her eyes replaced by galaxies. “I have the means to defend myself.”

Placing the cake in front of Vak, she turned to Paige, her eyes normal again. “As for our conversation, I appreciate the support. When we fused, our connection to the tablet was weakened, but not enough to become fully disconnected from it. If we can get it into one place, we can destroy it all at once. With the connection gone, my powers will stabilize, and I should be able to turn things back to relative normal.” She smiled. “As a bonus, I can deal with your little pest problem for no extra charge.”

Mr. Snuggles (GM)

Vak glanced down at the cake and then back to the woman, rather unimpressed. “The difference is when you make a cake no one has to cease to exist against their will in the process. You’re just like a Cardassian, taking what isn’t yours and promising it will be better for everyone. Sorry, I know better.” The Bajoran nurse then turned his attention to Dr. Stone. “Doctor, I don’t trust her. We have no guarantee that she will do what she says she will.”

Ensign Dabor Vak, Nurse

Paige looked at Vak “I understand and I can’t disagree with you, but at this point, we don’t have a lot of choice in the matter. We need to keep more people from being injured and if she can provide us with the information that we need to keep the station safe, then we will do that. We can work out the ethics of it later.” She said and turned to the woman “First, there can be no further harm to people.” She said gesturing around medical bay “Second, you will need to speak with our captain and explain your story and he will make the final decision.” She said..
