Java Bilbringi stood at the psychiatry’s door. She had no clue why sickbay sent her to the counseling chief. It was not like she had a problem and even if she did, the old joke of medical had a hypo for everything wasn’t that far off base. Unfortunately Java felt like a ping pong ball right now. A month ago she was on medical’s radar. Three weeks ago Ensign Touskoulis, or who she called crazy hair man, claimed she was not counseling’s issue and sent her back to medical. That dropped her on Ensign Harland’s radar who never let her butt hit the biobed before she sent to women back to counseling this time with a referral to the big man himself. Lt. Nathan No nonsense Harland. Java debated if this was something nice on Chloe’s behalf or a way to end this insane ordeal. Either way she was here now and needed to get this over with. Ringing the chime she waited to be allowed inside the office.Java Bilbringi
“Enter Java.” Nathan said, alerting her he was very much ready for their appointment. If he had predicted wrong that it was her showing up he might have looked foolish, but he suspected she was going to try and get this over with as quickly as possible. Almost everyone that was referred to him wanted to, wham bam thank you ma’am psychiatry. It never worked that way, but they always assumed it would.

Entering the room she was rather shocked at the interior. She had thought that it would be more austere but the bank of greenery behind the couch and the two potted plants gave it a softer feel. It was probably the influence of his wife. Stepping down the small set of stairs as she entered the office, Java ran her fingers over a few blades testing the texture. “You have real plants,” she cocked an eyebrow at him. “You don’t seem the type.”
“I hear it humanizes me… plus my wife enjoys things that are real so I keep live plants” he said as he motioned for her to begin her way down the steps.
“
“It humanizes you,” she slowly took the steps never taking her eyes off of Nathan. “Where did you get your degree? Rub some dirt in it and take a lap U,” she quipped back with a small laugh.
Moving to the couch she sat down and took a long swig of coffee from the cup in her left hand. With enough cream and sugar it was tolerable but not as good as the coffee in science’s lobby. those people knew how to pick and grow a coffee bean but then again they were sciences. The small counseling symbol imprinted on the paper sleeve showed it was the generic brew offered in the lobby. “Oh and for the record, my name is not Ja..va. It is Ja..vay…uh,” she corrected him.

Nathan stared at the woman for a second as he rolled his eyes. “Sure, Javay it is… how can I help you today?” He asked her as he crossed his legs as he waited for her to begin.

“Sign that slip that says Lt. Juan Valdez is the one smoking crack and I am as sane as I am,” she gave a half nod to the stack of PaDD’s teetering like an electronic form of Jenga.
Buried among the files was a form from Lt. Juan Pardez who was referring the ensign to counseling for the medical condition of Substance Use Disorder.

Ensign Harland, I am referring Ms. Bilbringi to Sickbay for an evaluation on substance abuse. She is currently unable to complete a shift for a period of longer than two hours before she requires a break. While these breaks tend to be no more than five minutes in nature, the regularity at which she needs them is proving to be difficulty when supplies are to come in or meetings run longer than expected. She shows signs of irritation ranging to hostility and she tends to have a lack of productivity expected on the job when required to immediately start a shift prior to 0800 hours. Please give her an evaluation to determine if this is a physical or mental condition to which she should receive treatment.

Lt. Harland please give Ensign Bilbringi a counseling screener on substance abuse. The condition she is experiencing is having a physiological effect but she is denying her actions as a contributing factor for her insomnia, headaches, irritability, and inability to maintain a steady work rate without the substance.
Ensign Chloe A. Harland
While no one would give a second glance to her signature, Nathan was married to Chloe and knew the addition of her middle initial meant she also sent a private email in their Bang account as a follow up.

Baby I love you but,
1. Dude do not ping pong this chick back to me. She is definitely having an issue and it’s nothing I can fix with a stab of the old hypo.
2. Good luck because she “doesn’t have a problem” which is what they all say.
3. Chinese for dinner?
Lovin’ you,
Chloe
