Toveka glanced at the XO then at Tenkiller. She imagined since she wasn’t crazy about the XO being bait, he likely wasn’t either. At the question of the swiftest way to engineering, she pointed down the corridor. “That way.” She then glanced at the woman in the dress and shook her head. Whatever the woman was, helpful didn’t seem to be one of the choices. The Science Chief would be glad when this whole business was over and the oddities on the ship were returned to their rightful places and times.

She glanced at Tenkiller once more. “I can get us to engineering, you need to help the XO.” As much as she wanted to help protect him, she knew that where the XO was going was more dangerous and needed Ten more than her. “All right?” She nodded to Tesla and the Knight to get agreements from them both that they could all manage on their own.

Tenkiller just shook his head and said “Last I checked, she was the boss… not you. And getting this handled is more important than getting anyone particular person a body guard.” He looked at the Security Officer, NE Folstead, and said “Phaser rifles and Heavy Stun grenades. Keep the XO from getting too shot up.” and he then looked at Toveka and the woman. “And I’ll do the same for you.” and he grinned.

Tenkiller, CoS

Toveka turned away, unsure whether to be flattered or upset. It was a good thing it was nearly impossible to tell when she was blushing, though Tesla, standing now right in front of her, may guess it. Tenkiller was one of those men you wanted to be closer to. But reality knew better and she listened to reality. “Of course, forgive me. Let’s go.” She started to head towards engineering.

Jessica picked up the pack and slung it over her shoulders. “Okay let’s go play cat and mouse,” she exited the security offices. Ardan would read her the riot act about being bait but that was something to worry about later. For all their differences in employment ideas they both understood loyalty. That concept cemented them more than anything. Activating the turbo, Jessica wondered how long it would take the enemy to get a read on the decoy teams location. It was inevitable the enemy would notice. Jessica just needed it to be for long enough for Tenkiller’s team to accomplish their mission

Tenkiller watched the XO leave and then followed the CSO and the woman. As they walked out, he charged the phaser rifle in his hands and began looking around them.

((was waiting to see if GM would enter anything here… guess not))

Toveka led the team to the engineering department. Glancing around corners when she was in front, and letting others do the checking when she wasn’t, she got them to the department and locked the doors behind them as they entered. Looking around, she frowned. “So how do we find this object, since it’s supposed to be in here.”

The knight held up the display on her arm. “It appears to be within the walls, although the protective coating seems to be interfering with my scans. Am I correct in assuming that there are hatches that lead into the crawlspace around here?”

Mr. Snuggles (GM)

Tenkiller nodded and said “Yeah, but you’ll never make inside in that outfit.” and he looked around. “Can you tell me roughly where it is and what it looks like?”

The woman nodded. “It appears to be in the conduits there.” She pointed to an area where the readings for a number of systems were gathered before being stored, coincidentally the data being gathered was for the same systems that had strange readings at the start of the incident.

Toveka frowned then took a deep breath and nodded. “I can get in there.” She glanced at the readings then at the opening in the form of a panel covered access just a few inches off the floor. “What recently am I looking for?” She tugged down her tunic top in preparation for climbing they the shaft to the destination. “And can I grab it with my hands safely enough?”

How to get a hold of it crossed her mind. But what didn’t was what to do once she had it in her hands.

=/\=Um how are you guys doing in there=/\= Jessica said in panting breaths. It was obvious she was running as she was talking. At least for the moment it seemed like the decoy plan was working. What she needed to know was if this chase was going to be laps or a marathon.

The knight glanced over at one of the diagrams on the wall. “Anything that looks out of the ordinary, such as a piece of metal sticking out from a conduit or such.”

Mr. Snuggles (GM)

((we still doing this?))

OOC: I assume so, I’ve been waiting on someone to crawl in, but I can give more direction

The knight tapped her wrist a few times. “Further scans seem to have it be some shard of metal at the moment, but if we redirect the power for a short time you should be able to remove it safely.”

Mr. Snuggles (GM)

Toveka nodded and climbed into the shaft. Glancing around, she found what appeared to be a large out of place piece of metal, roughly the size of her hand, not quite fully attached to the bulkhead. “I think I have it… about twelve inches square. It’s fixed to the side wall, but not very well. Almost like it was haphazardly placed there.” She glanced towards the others wondering if that was what she was looking for. “Will it scan differently if I use my tricorder?” she asked as her hand moved to her hip to reach for it if necessary.

The woman nodded. “Among other things, it should be slightly fluctuating in composition, which is most likely what is causing the energy changes due to the change in conductivity. My scans do show that you are in the right area, so if that is not it, then it is very cleverly hidden.”

Mr. Snuggles (GM)

Toveka used her tricorder to figure out that the piece that was ‘off’ was indeed the anomoly. “All right. I have it.” She tapped a couple buttons nearby and shunted the power around her current location long enough to grab it with a pair of insulated gloves and tuck it into the pouch at her hip. Once the power was restored, she shimmied down the access way and settled, once more, on the deck. “Well.... here it is.” She took the bag from her hip and held it towards the woman. “So now what?” Sure, they were the team to acquire the pieces. But were they just gonna beam them to the XO or to the ship once the XO had vacated? She glanced at Tenkiller. “Your call.”
