Early morning was always a bustle on the Outpost, until about an hour past shift change when Alpha Shift began it’s day. It was at that moment when operations was just settling back and easing into their routines after catching up on the nights reports and maintenance logs, docking schedules and long range reports that a Klingon Warbird appeared suddenly a very short distance away from one of the Outposts docking stations. Accordingly, alarms sounded at the unexpected sensor reading.One of the Operations crew looked at the readout and swore, then shook his head. “It’s the Khazad’hea,” he said, looking up. “They are sending a message, voice only,” and he opened the comm channel. Almost immediately, the unmistakable Klingon voice that many of the Outpost 42 had heard over the past year as the Klingon ship hunted pirates and used the Outpost as a base, came through. Deep and gruff with a strong note of Command, Captain Khain’s voice announced their arrival.
=/\= Outpost 42, now that I have your attention I request permission to dock in our usual spot at your magnificent station. I have one of your crew onboard, and by the way, you have a large scratch mark on your docking ring about fifty meters from the airlock. Have you been letting someone else use my ring? =/\= Khains voice sounded gruff, but there was also an underlying note of humor in it.
