Baldur grabbed a rifle, he’d allowed the Security Chief to have the last word, mostly because it was the polite thing to do. He had been harsh on the officer and understood he had the best of intentions in mind. “Don’t, he was simply doing what he thought was necessary” He said calmly examining the rifle; He turned it around a few times then opened it up to examine the power cell then quickly closed it again and primed it “The backward reasoning was sound if overly defensive” When the weapon was prepared he grabbed the chip case, handing it to the scientist “How advanced was your firearm training?” He asked as he nodded to the type 2 in her hand.

Toveka did her own check and conditioning of her weapon and smiled. “I can’t pick off a tribble at a hundred kilometers, but I can defend my lab and not blow you up in the process. How’s that?” She smiled and set the checked phaser on her hip before handing him one as well and then locking the locker. Taking up the chip case, she nodded to the floor. “Shall we?” Patting his arm in reassurance she slung the rifle over her shoulder and deftly went back down into the Science lab after a quick check part way down to be sure it was still empty.

Paige looked at Toveka and Baldur and finally just turned and walked out of the labs “Nevermind, I’ll figure it out on my own.” She said frustrated and walked away and headed back to Sickbay.

CMO

Baldur stretched slightly as he exited “By Thor’s beard” He exclaimed “Doctor Stone” He jogged to the door “Do you think now is the time to throw a fit, we’re in the middle of an emergency” He called out to her “We’re under attack is that enough?”

SOO - Baldur
(fixed it to ‘not the time for a fit’… let me know if I was mistaken and you actually ‘wanted’ her to have a fit lol)

“Fine.” She said as she continued on her way “I’ll have sickbay ready for wounded.” She said and continued walking, still angry that she was almost completely in the dark and had patients that were being impacted by it. She would simply do what she was trained to do, heal.

Baldur sighed, she had misunderstood his intention as brushing her off instead of trying to get her back to explain the situation. No matter, he’d find a way to make it up to her.

Toveka sighed as she saw the CMO upon descending. The woman had been out of line of sight of the ladder till the scientist had stepped away from the ladder and turned. As she departed, she was glad the SOO had gone after her. She could certainly sympathize with the woman being upset. Ten had beamed out all but her and left her here. She made a mental note to take the woman to lunch when this was over.

Moving to the area the other cases like the one in her hand were stowed, Toveka shifted it to the back and rearranged the small cupboard to look like nothing was amiss. The case was scan proof and with a temporary quarantine shield down, for their protection in a crisis of course, the chip would be totally undetectable. She then disposed of the other brain materials they had created. And lastly, she went thru and transferred all the test sims to three small chips. One she set under the edge of the desk where it wouldn’t be seen. The other two she took to her office. One went in a container in her desk with a couple dozen other discs. This one she marked with a small lightning bolt circled, and tossed it in with the rest, mixing it in with her fingers to disguise it. The other one, she tucked behind the edge of the digital board on her wall on the far side away from the door. It was so small, no one knew it was there.

Sitting back at her desk, she made a quick log entry that stated the chip hadn’t done anything and that security had come and confiscated it and took it with them back to the promenade. She made sure the feeling of anger and panic was in the short entry and keyed it to let her know if anyone did a search for her, Science, the chip, temporal anomalies, or brain. Satisfied, she went back in the other room to see how Baldur and the CMO were doing.

CMO

Baldur went past the Scientist as she came towards him “She’s going back to Sickbay, how’d you do?” He asked, his voice calm if barely so.

SOO - Baldur

Toveka paused as he passed her. Her hand went out but it only brushed down his arm before it was out of reach. “I did fine.” She turned to him and crossed her arms. “Are you still mad at the Security Chief, or something else got you looking like a pacing Sehlat?” She leaned on the edge of the nearby counter and watched him.

It was at this moment that the sound of many pairs of feet impacting against the ground started to echo through the corridor. It was too synchronized to be random civilians, and the sound was getting louder by the second.

Mr. Snuggles (GM)

Toveka frowned. Glancing at Baldur she shrugged. “Armed to the teeth to defend ourselves or ‘we’ve been locked in here for our protection, no idea what’s going on after the Security Chief took the chip’? Your call, Sir.” They were both armed and she swiftly climbed up and sealed the hatch they had come down, landing on the floor with a thud just as the footsteps got close enough to worry her and raise her heartrate a bit more.

“I’m thinking ‘Chief took the chip and handed these to us and said not to move’. What do you think?”

“Get inside your office, set up forcefields, three barriers” He found himself a place behind a duty station that could provide adequate cover, “You say nothing until I do, don’t give details, details kill lies faster than the truth” He primed his rifle and grabbed his tricorder and scanned the hallway “Just stick behind cover and don’t get shot” He called out, this would require precise planning, he hoped that the Security chief was aware of this development.

SOO - Baldur

His snapped orders, oddly enough, made her feel better. He at least did more than say lock yourself in your office. Still not crazy about the idea, though, she did as he said.

Moving into her office, she had the computer erect three maximum containment barriers. She then has it also place barriers around the hatch door above Baldur’s head, and just inside the armory above them. No sense watching the door down here, if something could get in from above. As an after thought she made sure authorized security codes from Tenkiller or his security staff could still get past the upper barriers if needed.

Settling herself behind her desk, it wasn’t hard to pretend to be scared as hell. She laid her weapon in her lap so it wasn’t seen by anyone looking in. Then she put her hands on her desk and fidgeted nervously. It crossed her mind, in the silence as she listened to the boots approaching, whether the Security Chief would be amused or not by her sudden rush of fear after having tried to square off against him just a little bit ago.

Bump 7.19.20 (think we got forgotten)

Bump

OOC: Sorry for the delay

There was a slam against the door to the lab, along with shouting in an alien language. Despite it sounding like an ultimatum, the pounding continued and sparks began to travel from the top of the door to the bottom.

Mr. Snuggles (GM)

Baldur smiled to himself at the knocking and yelling, he didn’t recognize the language but the sentiment was universal. He primed his rifle and aimed at the door. He took a deep breath and called out “We are closed right now, please come back later during business hours” He didn’t know if they would understand him but he made sure that his voice had the correct amount of mocking confidence, also it wouldn’t hurt morale to be a little flippant. He used his left hand to tap his combadge =^=Baldur to Tenkiller, we’re about to host a few uninvited party guests at the labs, hopefully you’ve secured your present. On a side note, if you have any lonely people down there we wouldn’t mind the company=^=
