SNIP

There was a slam against the door to the lab, along with shouting in an alien language. Despite it sounding like an ultimatum, the pounding continued and sparks began to travel from the top of the door to the bottom.

Mr. Snuggles (GM)

Baldur smiled to himself at the knocking and yelling, he didn’t recognize the language but the sentiment was universal. He primed his rifle and aimed at the door. He took a deep breath and called out “We are closed right now, please come back later during business hours” He didn’t know if they would understand him but he made sure that his voice had the correct amount of mocking confidence, also it wouldn’t hurt morale to be a little flippant. He used his left hand to tap his combadge =^=Baldur to Tenkiller, we’re about to host a few uninvited party guests at the labs, hopefully you’ve secured your present. On a side note, if you have any lonely people down there we wouldn’t mind the company=^=

SOO - Baldur

=^= Yeah, have a couple of interested bidders asking not so nicely about my auction piece. I’ll head your way and see if we can interest anyone else. =^= came a voiced response over blasts of phaser fire.

A few moments later, the swirl of gold lights indicated an arrival, and for the second time that day the Security Chief appeared.

“What have we got?” he said as he looked to door. He was waiting for the sounds of the dispatched Security teams engaging the intruders.

Tenkiller, CoS

She wasn’t so far away that Toveka didn’t hear the exchange between Baldur and the CoS. The sounds of weapons being fired around him made her pulse race.

When he appeared outside her office, she was actually grateful to see the Chief. “Appears that little bit has the attention of several folks.”

If he turned around to glance at her, Toveka looked like she was awaiting visitors. Sitting at her desk, hands fidgeting on top of it. To anyone looking closer, the fear was evident in more than one way.

Baldur stood up from his cover, lowering the rifle and carefully turning his tricorder around. He seemed to be in a far better mood now, with the Huns at the gates “I’m mostly curious as to how they found us, I’m assuming that they’re looking for trace signals to previous locations, otherwise, they would have already found it” Baldur said in a calm tone, trying his best to alleviate the rather clear worries emanating from the nearby scientist “Seeing as they chased you I’d say it’s a safe bet that Toveka’s Trick worked. Have we had any casualties?” He asked pointedly.

SOO - Baldur

“Nothing major so far, but I don’t want to push our luck. Now listen, these guys are armored. But the joints appear to be a weak point. So hit ‘em in the knees, elbows and shoulders. High power.” He knelt behind a lab table and aimed at the door.

A thought occurred to him and he grinned. Looking at Baldur, he said “Ya know… we could slide that door open just wide enough for one at a time to come in. Stand on either side and pop ‘em as they move in the room.”

Tenkiller, CoS

Baldur grabbed his tricorder and placed it back into its holster”Sounds like a plan” he answered the Security chiefs Grin with one of his own “Although I suspect we’ll need cover after they figure out what we’re doing” He looked at the scientist “If any of them get past us you can fire, just try to not hit either one of us” He said with a smile. He hadn’t been on the station for more than a few hours, this was turning out to be quite the exciting day. He walked to the first forcefield “Drop and raise each forcefield as we go past” He told Toveka.

SOO - Baldur

Toveka heard the idea and stood up with a frown. “I don’t think that’s a good idea, Lieutenant Commanders.” The titles coming out like a mother scolding children.

As they rose, obvious bent on doing it anyway, she shook her head, murmuring. “I still think it’s a bad idea.” But her hand went to the console to cycle the three force fields separating them from the front door being breeched.

Just then the captain’s voice came over Toveka’s comm. =/\= McGarrett to Brine. Lieutenant, I’ve learned that the intruders are approaching the areas where time is most in flux. I don’t suppose you have any ideas on how to get time out of flux? =/\=

Captain Mathias McGarrett, CO

Baldur was nearing the door when the Captain’s call came through “That would explain why and where they’re looking for the McGuffin” He said out loud to no one in particular “If the Object causes said flux and they’re familiar with it then that’s how they track it” His mind immediately went to consider how to turn this information into a tactical advantage, perhaps they could fake such a flux and gather the enemies in a location where Starfleet would have a clear strategic advantage.

SOO - Baldur

Toveka’s mind was on Baldur’s same track. “Tenkiller… my guess is the replicated one you have wasn’t giving off the right signal. That’s why they came here. I can shield from lots of things, but hadn’t considered a temporal shield. Maybe we can get that original chip somewhere you can control. Then shield it there and get it back here and they won’t realize it?” It was a long shot, but she had to come up with something.” Tapping her comm, she answered the Captain. =^=Working a couple ideas here, Captain. Will let you know soon as we have a solution.=^= That hopefully doesn’t involve someone’s sacrifice or death she added to herself as she looked at Tenkiller outside her office. Sure, she was a member of the crew and he was protecting his ship. But something inside her felt relieved anyway.
