William finally exhaled, having held his breath for the entirety of the journey. “I don’t think so Lieutenant” He looked over to stone “The way that Captain spoke, it’s a special arrogance on a whole different level. Already deciding our fate means their legal system is brutal, medieval even. And his quip about the simplicity of our language shows an inherent superiority complex.” He said slightly out of breath.

“I agree, but we can’t simply go and fight them. Even if we could easily defeat them, starting a conflict with a race we know nothing about could have long term
consequences.” Stone shook her head slightly. “I want to get our people back immediately, but I doubt we have much we can bargain with.”

Lt. Andrea Stone, COS

“Did the Commander not put out a call to Command just before this?” Stovik asked as he looked around the bridge. He thought he remembered the Commander ordering it back when he had first entered the bridge. “See if a call went out.” He said to Stone.

Captain Stovik

“Right away, Sir.” She responded and immedaitely checked the communication logs since the accident. She also checked the status of their communicators to see if they were operational at the moment or not.

OOC: I will nudge Josh for a response though I know he’s having to deal with packing and finding a new home atm.

Krys

The call to command did not reach out. A localized jamming field is present.

-GM

OOC: The call wasn’t made at present but way back before the Cardassians fired at the Chernov. Was the jamming field present then?

Krys

OOC: I had the call sent out when the Cardassians were halfway to us.
Travis

Ooc: At your current location a call to the Federation would take over a year to reach them with current tech.

-GM

OOC: That’s understandable. But did the message get sent?

Travis

Ooc: Yes.

‘Gm

OOC: Sweet! If we get out of this and back home in time, then command will get it when we’re safe! That’d be funny.

Travis

OOC: Are we really that far away from our original starting point? Subspace communication we’re supposed to be using is much faster then speed of light. Of course the range is limited and I guess after a couple lightyears starts to deteriorate if there are no relays inbetween.

Andrea Shook her head. It didn’t look good. “Sir, the message was sent out, but we recieved no confirmation by any relay station that it was recieved or relayed. Also… there’s a lot of noise over the comms. It looks almost as if the comms are being jammed. If we want to get a message out, we would have to go out in the open again, or send a shuttle to do it. It might not be a bad idea, to also check up on the Cardassians and see if they are still looking for us, or if they decided to return from where ever they came. A shuttle might get spotted to easily though. A probe would most likely be a safer option.” she suggested.

Lt. Andrea Stone, COS

“Would they not find the probe as they are looking for us? Is there a way we can disguise the signature of the probe?” Stovik asked.

Captain Stovik

Ooc: my apologies for days. The move went well minus a hiccup or two.

Ic: A deep rumble would give them the answer they needed. Whether they knew the ships location or not, it would seem that a few phasers strikes against the shell of the asteroid had happened. Large chunks of rock broke free from the walls and started floating around the Chernov, occasionally tapping the hull, causing ringing noises in the ships corridors.

-GM

Andrea wanted to curse, but she held her tongue. “Their sensors must be more advanced as ours, ” she began to say but then checked something on the console “Ugh, the plasma.... we seem to be venting some from the nacelle. It probably wasn’t too hard to realise, we took cover in the asteroid field. As far as i can see it’s spreading though, so our exact location might still be a bit of a mistery to them.”

Using a shuttle to call for help was for now out of the question. They would see it imediately and just shoot it out of the sky.

Lt. Andrea Stone, COS

Will looked at the Security Chief with a concerned look “If we get main power back will we have enough functionality to fight them off?” He asked concerned “We still have the torpedoes we had prepared I think.”
