“Would they not find the probe as they are looking for us? Is there a way we can disguise the signature of the probe?” Stovik asked.

Captain Stovik

Ooc: my apologies for days. The move went well minus a hiccup or two.

Ic: A deep rumble would give them the answer they needed. Whether they knew the ships location or not, it would seem that a few phasers strikes against the shell of the asteroid had happened. Large chunks of rock broke free from the walls and started floating around the Chernov, occasionally tapping the hull, causing ringing noises in the ships corridors.

-GM

Andrea wanted to curse, but she held her tongue. “Their sensors must be more advanced as ours, ” she began to say but then checked something on the console “Ugh, the plasma.... we seem to be venting some from the nacelle. It probably wasn’t too hard to realise, we took cover in the asteroid field. As far as i can see it’s spreading though, so our exact location might still be a bit of a mistery to them.”

Using a shuttle to call for help was for now out of the question. They would see it imediately and just shoot it out of the sky.

Lt. Andrea Stone, COS

Will looked at the Security Chief with a concerned look “If we get main power back will we have enough functionality to fight them off?” He asked concerned “We still have the torpedoes we had prepared I think.”

CSO

Stovik had been sitting in his command chair pondering options. They had to try to get the upper hand and there were not a lot of good options. “From your scans of their ship, do you think we could beam a small party on board without them knowing it?” He asked Stone and Will. They had to get the beamed crew back and one of the only ways to do that was go get them. He could send Givens and Stone to head the strike team. Perhaps they could do some damage to the Cardassian ship on the inside as well.

Captain Stovik

“If we managed to lower their shields, we can attempt to beam over. We would need only a couple of moments for that. Once inside we could locate our crew with the use of tricorders. The Cardassians appear to be different enough for us to isolate our DNA’s. It’s hard to say what internal security they have. Their weapons and shields don’t look much different. If internal is similar as well, then finding us won’t take long at all. But if we are lucky they might have no internal intruder detection system on their ships.”

At this point a lot was guessing. The enemy’s capabilities were largly unknown. Not until a full ship scan was done or they managed to gain access to their systems could they know for sure.

“We could mask our presence, but in order to do that, we’d need to capture one of them first and make a DNA scan.”

Lt. Andrea Stone, COS

An NE from over in the corner thought for a moment. “What if they are like us and drop shields when they believe there is no perceivable threat? Like if they truly believed we were destroyed?”

-GM

Stone nodded. “Most likely they do. They require huge amounts of power. However since they are firing on the asteroids, I belive we haven’t fooled them compleately. Perhaps by the time our own repairs are somewhat finished, they’ll grow bored and drop them. I’m afraid if we wait for too long though it could all be for nothing, if they called for reinforcements. But judging by how persistent they are… I have a feeling they want to capture us on their own. I’m sure they’ll earn some kind of reward or recognition if they capture us.”

Lt. Andrea Stone, COS

“I agree Captain. I don’t think that they will stop unless they believe us truly dead or gone.”

Ricky continued to tap commands into the computer trying to decrypt the Cardassisn messages.

LT - Ricky English - Comms

“Perhaps they would be fooled by an explosion with a signal that seemed to indicate we are destroyed. Stone, is there something you could set up for that?”

Captain Stovik

She nodded. ” We still have photon torpedoes, though perhaps it might be better to show multiple smaller explosions instead of one big one. A little C4 in a few probes could do that. The asteroid masks us, so they wouldn’t be able to detect much of a debries anyway. Unless they decided to take a closer look of course.”

Lt. Andrea Stone, COS

William looked at the Secuirity chief quite befuddled “Ye want to put plastic explosives inside an matter/anti-matter warhead so that it doesn’t explode largely” He sounded very confused “I may not be an expert in explosives but that math doesn’t add does it?”

CSO

“Not in a torpedo, in a regular probe. Those come without any kind of warheads. Five or six of them could quickly be prepaired and if detonated in succesion might give them the idea that the ship slowly blew up due to all the hits they scored and damage. Plus we can detonate those much closer to our ship then the photon torpedo. We’re still without shields, i’d prefer to stay clear of any blast radious big enough to wipe out entire cities.”

OOC: Andrea proposes to use scientific probes.. those come with various sizes usualy about a basketball size but can be much bigger as well.
Lt. Andrea Stone, COS

“Sounds good. Prepare those, Stone and detonate them on my mark.” Reaching down he toggled the comm toggle on his seat and contacted Engineering.
[O]Stovik to Givens. Leave some Ensigns with your charge and you and Mwzei report to the bridge. Stovik out.[C]

Captain Stovik

“I’ll have them prepaired, Sir. Give me about 10 minutes.” Stone reported. She rushed towards the turbolift and even before the door closes she could be overheard ordering one of her fellow officers to get the explosives and probes to armory.

Lt. Andrea Stone, COS

William watched the Security Chief leave. “Sir, do we plan a full-on assault on the Cardassian vessel? As in inavding troops and such?”

CSO

Stovik frowned for a moment as he pondered.”No, I think a small strike team would have more success. Givens, a weapons officer, perhaps an Engineer. They could assist in navigating the ship and perhaps do some sabotage.”

Captain Stovik

William simply nodded and tried not to seem to relieved that his talents were not needed for this particular mission.

T’Aria has found her way to the bridge, stepping down to stand partially away from the Captain, half to figure out what was going on, and half to understand where her people might potentially be needed. Seeing as the opposing Vulcan was in conversation with another, she didn’t deem it proper to distract nor interrupt him, while speaking to the CSO. Thus, logically, she listened and waited.

Doctor T’Aria

Seeing the Doctor enter the bridge Stovik said.”Doctor, can you be prepared to join the strike team that we are planning to send aboard to the Cardassian ship? A small team is going to be sent aboard and there may be injured among the crew taken.” While he waited for her to respond he contacted Engineering again.

[O]Chief Scott, can you spare an Engineer to be part of a strike team to the Cardassian ship?[O]

Captain Stovik

“Of course, Captain.” T’Aria assured, clasping her hands behind the small of her back. “When do you plan to send out the strike team, sir?” She inquired, in order to get a basic time schedule for what was going on. Putting together medical supplies was not difficult, especially when they usually kept kits together for such things. It was just a matter of organization and punctuality.

Mwezi stepped onto the bridge. “I have been summoned?” he spoke up when a quiet moment allowed him the space to interrupt, saluting the captain briefly before standing at attention and awaiting further orders.

T’Aria glanced over at the man, raising an eyebrow at his idiosyncratic response to being called to the bridge. Amusing, it may have been, if someone had the emotional capacity to notice it.

Dr. T’Aria

OOC: Stone went to the armory, but I think it was about time she returned.

Returning tfom the armory, Stone reported.
“Captain, the probes are prepaired. I have an officer load them as we speak and ready to launch at your order. They are timed to go off at various intervals and hopefully it will look like we had a cascade failure. The last two probes had the most explosives in them, and in tandem the explosion should be as big as our ship is.”

“Shortly, once Mr. Grey has completed his plans for misdirecting the Cardassians. Will you be able to beam over a team, Mr. Grey or will a shuttle be needed? ” While waiting for a response Stovik turned to Mwezi. “Ensign, you will be accompanying Givens and the Doctor on a strike team to the Cardassian ship. Stone, I want you to send two of your best officers with them as well. It is hoped Givens may have some knowledge on how to sabotage their ship as we are unable to send any engineers with them.”

Captain Stovik

“Ensign Mwezi, I’d like you to be one of the two officers in the strike team.” she said to the ensign. He was quite strong and intimidating looking. Her second choice would be Kane, specialy since he’s well versed in both security and medicine. But she heard he was also one of the kidnapped people. NE Zefaf would have to fill that roll then.

Stone wondered a bit about their options to beam. 40.000km range seemed like a lot, but in space it was no further then an arm’s reach. The Cardassians would need to get very close for them to reach them ship to ship.
