Adira stopped where she stood and turned and addressed the chief engineer “This may be your department, but he is the only one on this bloody ship that knows this new equipment, and I for one don’t wanna see any more of my friends floating across the viewer because you can’t play nice.” She stopped before she could say anything else and continued toward the storage unit in engineering.

She wasn’t one to let her emotions get the best of her while on a mission, but this one was starting to take its toll on her. As she searched for the EPS couplers a single tear began to trace a pattern down her cheek.

Lt. (J.G) Adira Givens, sec/intelligence

Loring gave her a sidelong glance and hardened his face into the mask he wore in front of others. His poker face as it were.

Adira paused briefly and looked back to where Johnathan and the rest of the engineers were. She took a moment to wipe the tears before she went back to looking for the EPs couplers.

Lt. (j.g.) Adira Givens, security/intelligence

There were three or four usable couplers that could be fabricated together for a makeshift power relay strong enough to hold the charge of the engine.

-GM

The Captain’s voice came over the communications from the bridge,[O]Engineering, repair estimates for engines, weapons and shields?[O]

Captain Stovik

Adira grabbed the three usable couplers she had found as the Vulcans voice sounded over the comm system. Moving over to the panel next to the door she replied [O] It could take anywhere from a couple of minutes to I don’t know, and that’s just for the engines! I don’t know how long it would take me for weapons and shields. I’m not an engineer, but I’m doing the best I can[O]

She moved into the fabrication room and just stood there a moment trying to figure out what came next. Laying the parts on the table in front of her she cursed Johnathan under her breath before realizing the comm channel to the bridge was still open. She shook her head as she started to piece together the couplers hoping she didn’t break the ship even more before she was finished.

Loring could be seen across the way arguing with an engineering ensign about the power flow ratio vs the current load bearing of the power couplers that were being installed. Tensions were clear to be running high due to missing personnel on top of the hostile ship.

-GM

Tyler came to separate Loring and the Ensign. “Loring what is it you need my people to do?”

Scott CE

James slipped into engineering unnoticed, approaching the CE from behind, hoping to hear what needed to be done. Destings desperately needed a chance to impress his boss if he wanted his career to progress anytime soon.

Ensign James Destings (Engineer)

Once the engineering staff began helping she stepped back to allow them to work. She just had to make sure Loring and the engineering staff didn’t end up hurting one another.

Lt. Givens, Security/intelligence

Tyler looked over the security officer way. “Givens I think we’re fine here. I really appreciate your help.” Tyler noticed her
new engineering “Destings go switch places and help manage the power input with Mr. Loring”

Scott, CE

Adira nodded to the chief and stepped back allow the officer to take over.

“Yes, sir.” James said with an excited tone as he ran over to Loring. “Can I be of any assistance?” He said to the man, not entirely sure what it was that needed to be done. He’d seen Loring arguing with another ensign earlier, and James didn’t really want that to happen to him.

Ensign James Destings (Engineer)

Loring turned round, “Can you put two couplers together without frying the EPS relays and burning out components? Good. Take these and put them in the Conduit relay underneath the engine so we can get main power back”

-Gm

Adira sighed as they continued to work and bring main power back on line. It wouldn’t be long until they would at least have a chance to survive this nightmare.

“How long till we have main power back on line?” She asked

Lt. (J.g.) Givens, sec/intell

“Okay.” Destings said as he grabbed the components and ran off to the conduit relay. As he got to the engine he heard Lt. Givens asking how long until power was restored. “Shouldn’t take me long to get this stuff sorted. I assume as long as nothing else comes out of the blue, it should be pretty straight-forward.”

Ensign James Destings (Engineer)

Loring rolled his eyes as he worked, “Something we always said in Intel. Never speak things into existence. Saying as long as nothing happens is as bad as saying it cant get worse.” He chuckled at Adira. “Remember that ambush on Andoria where Pyn took a bad shot in the leg?”

-GM

“How could I forget” she said as moved over to where one of the other security officers. “Ensign Tal keep an eye on him.” She said pointing to Loring. “I’ll be on the bride If I’m needed.”

The security officer nodded and made her way over to where Loring and the engineers were as Adira left Engineering.

Suddenly the Captain’s clipped voice came out of the comm speakers, [O]Stovik to Givens. Leave some Ensigns with your charge and you and Mwzei report to the bridge. Stovik out.[O]

Captain Stovik

Lt. (j.g ) Givens, sec/intell

“Loring what’s the status on main power?” Tyler asked seriously.

Scott, CE

While Scott was waiting for a response from Loring the Captain’s voice came back down to Engineering through the Comms. [O]Chief Scott, can you spare an Engineer to be part of a strike team to the Cardassian ship?[O]

Captain Stovik

Loring glared at the CE, “Let’s see here. We got burned relays here, there and yonder. I’m fabricating new ones out of substandard parts for experimental tech that was using future technology tech to begin with. So at a star dock days, out here doing this kind of backwoods rigging? God knows.”

-GM

Tyler glared back. Pressing the comm panel [O] Captain I need every man here to try and fabricate new relays that the new engine burnt out. It’s unclear whether we’ll get main power back Sir[O]

[O]Understood, Chief.Stovik out.[C]

Captain Stovik

“Mr. Loring keep working on it.” She turned to her new engineer “Ensign Destings keep it up. If you need a break let me know.” She smiled at him.

Scott, CE

Tyler had begun her simulations of how much main power needs to get it back online. “Loring would you mind looking at this simulation and the numbers and see if I missed something.” Diplomatically this was the best course of action. Keep Loring happy for the time being til main power is restored.

Scott, CE

Loring poked his head up from his work and scrutinized the screen. “Shunt power from EPS 112 to 93 and increase power output .55 over 4 seconds. Once I get two more of these fabricated and placed we should have movement and some basic shield power. As long as we dont need weapons right now. Otherwise we could burn out everything and that will be all she wrote.”

-GM

“Thank you” Tyler made a slight correction on the numbers to Loring specifications. “Shunting power from relay 112 to 93....now. I’m increasing the power output by .55 for four seconds. Ready when you are Loring.”

Scott, CE

bump for GM

“Ramp it up to 23%. Do it slowly so as not to overload it.” Loring grabbed a station and held on. “It might also make the room shake, so be prepared.”

-GM

Tyler made a ship wide announcement [o] attention all hands refiring engines brace yourselves [c] “23 percent aye.” She made a bracing move on her station and entered the command to the computer.
