The comm’s message filled sensitive ears otherwise occupied with the whines of a young engineer, who had no desire to remain on bedrest.

“Please, Ensign. It is illogical for you to behave in such a manner. Allow your body the recuperation it requires, then you may return to active duty. Or, as it has been recently issued, shore leave. Now, do rest, or you will be sedated.” Without further word, she inclined her head, turning away from the man. T’Aria knew how vexing humans could be, however, when they were sick, they somehow reached a level of irritability that was incomparable to their general state of mind. She didn’t much care for it.

Sanitizing her hands, from where she had been working with the radiation poisoned Ensign, she adjusted the hem of her dress and headed directly for her office. Catching her gaze in search of three specific doctors, she spoke clearly and crisp, as not to appear to stutter and go unheard. “Doctor Johnson, Doctor Westland, PA Kane, come to my office, as soon as is possible.”

Without further word, she slipped beyond the distinctive hiss of parting metal doors, where she was met by the mellow, spiced scent of a burning candle. It was intended to promote a calm atmosphere, beyond the sterilization of the sickest, which wreaked of cleaning products, a rather unwelcome scent to noses as sensitive as most humanoids aboard the ship. Thus, the incense was a relief, a mechanism put into place to ensure one was not met with the same agonizing scent, when being debriefed or talked to in her office.

Setting the PaDD, which bore the information of the young Ensign and his past injuries, upon the table, she checked the monitor for any scheduled surgeries or appointments, for the remainder of the day, and the coming days. Silently, while awaiting the arrival of the opposing doctors, she divided the tasks between doctors, beginning to determine which officers would be on the planet and which would be on board the Chernov, seeing to the few appointments they had.

Dr. T’Aria
CMO

Kane was finishing up with a human patient who had been complaining of headaches centered in his forehead. Nothing showed on the scans, blood work was negative for anything, white blood cell count was normal, blood pressure and vital signs completely normal. Not seeing anything out of the ordinary, the Physician’s Assistant was about to call over another doctor for a consult when a thought occurred to him. He pulled up the duty roster for the Science section, where the Ensign was assigned, and saw that he wasn’t due for shore leave until the last forty-eight hours. Kane looked up and glared at the patient. “I’m gonna give you one shot to get the hell outta here since you are wasting my time with you. You aren’t sick, and you don’t have a headache. You pull this again, and I’ll make sure you miss Risa all together, got it?” and the chagrined officer almost bolted out of the room.

Kane tapped a few notes to the CSO to let them know about the officer, and then made his way to the CMO’s office. Walking in, he said “Heya, Doc. What’s up?” and took a seat in a chair. He sniffed the air slightly and said “What? You don’t like the smell of alcohol and sterilizer?” with a tone of sarcasm, typical for the man in question.

Kane, Tac / Med

“Goodday Mister Kane,” T’Aria rose her head from the monitor, catching a glimpse as the PA entered the room. For a second, she didn’t respond, about to give one with logical purpose behind it. That was, until she realized she was talking to a human, and the phrase had a much different meaning. “I am currently sorting Officers into shifts of four days, so our sickbay remains staffed throughout the trip to Risa. Hence why you and Doctors Johnson and Westland, were called here.” She informed, rising to her feet. “Sarcasm?” She inquired, but it was clear the question eas rhetorical and perhaps even sarcastic, itself. “It is a disruption to peace.”

“You are welcome to have a seat, or you may remain standing. Quite frankly, it is of no significance.”

Dr. T’Aria

Kane sat and chuckled “Well, I have been called a peace disruptor before, Doc.” and he stretched out his legs and looked at her with his typical scowl-through-hair he seemed to favor in professional situations for some reason.

Kane, Tac / Med

“I could not imagine why, PA.” There was a hint of sass in her voice, the only emotion Vulcans seemed to willingly show. “Have you seen Doctor Johnson or Doctor Westland nearby?” She assumed they were merely finishing up with their patient.

Dr. T’Aria

Dr. Westland finished entering a few notes on the patient he had just finished with and made his way to Dr. T’Aria’s office.
“Ensign Westland reporting as ordered.”
He was not the first to arive, but he was glad he wasn’t the last.

Ensign Westland
Medicine

OOC: Don’t forget to sign off! :D

IC: “Please, have a seat.” Allowing her gaze to jump from Kane to Westland, she nodded to him. “I trust you both have been well?”

Dr. T’Aria

Kane shrugged and said “Better since getting outta the brig, Doc. Glad they waited for shore leave until that was done.” It appeared the time he spent confined did nothing to curtail his demeanor, nor did it seem that he was at all ashamed of what had transpired to land him there. A select few people knew him well enough to know that he was, indeed, not.

Kane, Tac / Med

“I see your confinement to the brig has not altered your pleasant manner,” While her words could have been described as harsh, anyone who knew her would understand she was merely making an observation. Perhaps even intending to be friendly, if one read into it enough. However, to any newcomers, she would have sound harsh, perhaps even instigating. Although, that was hardly the intention.

Dr. T’Aria

“I have learned my way around Sick Bay and the ship. I guess you could say I have settled in. All seems to be going very well.” Jay responded. He wanted add, “and I haven’t managed to kill anyone yet,” but he thought that Dr. T’Aria would not be receptive to his particular brand of humor. To be honest very few people enjoyed his sometimes dark humor and sarcasm.

Ensign Weston, MD

When he finished, Kane jerked a thumb at Weston and said “And he hasn’t managed to kill anyone yet, but the day is young.” and shot a look at the doctor that was either threatening or jovial… it was really hard to tell with Kane.

Kane, Tac / Med

“One may.. hope that such a status remains the same. Or we will have an issue,” The Doctor spoke dryly, her words nothing more than a simple comment of sheer displeasure.

Dr. T’Aria

Jay, looked over at Kane as if to say, “you read my mind,” but instead gave a little smile and said, “tough room.”
