She tapped her PADD as she waited for a reply from them. The camera on the ceiling that was usualy blinking all the time and recording everything in those cells stopped blinking.

“Not enough. S-O-B is still walking upright.” Kane replied, not caring if his response was recorded or not.

Chris nodded and pointed to Kane. “What he said.”

“Hm, too bad it wasn’t a few more, but under the circumstances....must have felt real good.” She grinned. She regreted a bit not going after Loring herself.

Kane’s predatory grin replaced the scowl and he said “Well, it would have if I was able to get a tooth outta him to replace Taggart’s. That was my goal anyway.” he said in a somewhat blood-thirsty-yet-cheery manner.

“I appreciate that mate.” Rubbing a hand on his jaw.

“Hey, I’m a giver.” Kane replied flatly.

“If you two need anything, just let the guard know. Books, pillows, food, drinks. I hope you’ll understand there can’t be any alcohol, but we’ll see. Also if you two will want to streach your legs, you are permitted to use the gym for two hours daily. It’ll be closed for anyone else but you two then and under guard.”

She waited to see if there’s anything they might say off the record, before she had to turn the camera back on.

“Two Double cheeseburgers, everything on ‘em. Fries. Chocolate shake. But I don’t want to put you out; so you can’t find those, I’ll settle for Loring’s head on a pike. Taggart and I can play soccer with it to pass the time.” he said, and while his tone was sarcastic, it was probably not entirely so.

Kane, Tac / Med

“Yes! Please bring me the same. And some board games. We really appreciate your kind gestures. But I personally don’t want you to get in trouble for anything. But those two double cheeseburgers sound mighty tasty right now.”

Chris

“And the head on a pike!” Kane yelled so as to make sure his request was part of the list.

Kane

Loring strode into the Brig area with his arms behind his back. He was not chained, however, as he we in total control here. Stepping up towards the officers in the area he noted the Security officers presence. Nodding to her, he tapped a few keys on the wall. “I ask for a few moments with the prisoners here. I have something to discuss with them before the ship departs the station.” The tone of his voice was calm and kindly with the hint of a gentle smile on his lips. The way he spoke the words he chose almost betraying the fact that they were not a request.

Chris’s eyes narrowed and he lost his jolly attitude when he saw Loring appear.

A deep sigh caused his shoulders to rise and fall slowly. “I did try to warn you before anyone tried violence. I am deeply sorry that you did not heed it. You aren’t permanently injured, I hope.” He stepped over to a spot beneath the camera area where he could not be seen by prying eyes and set down a box that he had brought in when his hands were hid and then sat down in a chair to speak with the men. “Now, I know you are dying to get it out of your system. Have at it with the verbal abuse so we may speak in peace.”

-GM

Kane looked at Loring, and moved the long hair out of his eyes. The glare on his face spoke volumes, but all he said is “You aren’t worth it.”

In a very sarcastic time that was very obvious. “No. Nothing permanent. My tooth will grow back in time.” Then he changed attitudes. “But I got it out of my system. That’s why I’m in here.” Motioning with his right arm to the jail cell around him. “But I’m curious as to what you have to say and even more curious as to what’s inside the box. Is it a set of red or blue pills for us to take? Is it a mind controlling worm that you’ll unleash on us or is it your lunch that you pack in a box like a Japanese anime school girl?”

Leaning forward on his legs and listening intently, Loring grinned. “Then I am glad you are having fun. Because the Cardassians are a very real race.”

Chris looked over at Kane. “See. Told ya.”

Kane shrugged, never taking his eyes off Loring. “Remind me I owe you twenty credits.”

“The interactions you had in the simulation and the things your crew saw are exactly how they would have acted towards us.” His grin faded back to his normal resting stone face. “We gained alot of intelligence from a source from the future. Some of which are threats we have known about for some time. Races that have no bearing until we meet them naturally. Then there are a couple like the Cardassians that run around out there believing themselves superior to everyone. That this galaxy is theirs to do as they please.”

Kane leaned forward as almost growled at the man. “Maybe. But they didn’t do any of this to us. You did. And like I’m just gonna take your word for it? You lied to us at every turn. Why stop now.”

“That’s fine. There are over 100 million known galaxies. They can have theirs.” He said flatly knowing Loring probably meant universe.

He paused to let that sink in. “My organization needs men like yourselves willing to do anything to protect not only their crew, but the Federation as a whole. I believe a quoate taken from a famous Vulcan from the archive we have says that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. So I have to ask if you are willing g to do what is required when the times may come?”

-GM

Chris let out a slight laugh. “To do what is required of us when the time comes?....didn’t we already prove that? I sure hope so. We will kick their a$$es if we met in real life. Especially if you can hack their computer and put Kane and I in as citizens. But I’m curious as your plan for stopping them. You want Kane and I to steal a small unmarked ship, go to their planet and do undercover work on their planet and get Intel? If be down for that.”

Chris inmate

OOC: please read through your reply. The items I listed didn’t separate from your thread.

Travis

“I ain’t doing crap for this walking cesspool.” Kane said firmly. But he did lean back and say in a slightly more reasonable manner “But I’ll make you a deal, Loring. You say this ‘organization’ of yours needs people like us? Fine. I mean…” and he looked at Taggart and gave him a wicked grin, “… we are amazing, after all.” and then he stood up and walked the force field separating himself from Loring, his face mere centimeters from the field. “I think I can speak for both of us with this one. We don’t take orders from you. Not directly. And not ever. You want me to do something? You better find someone I don’t know and I can’t trace back to you to ask me. ” and the tattooed and wild-haired man crossed his arms across his chest. “And the Chernov crew gets a little something-something for you putting them through the ringer. The whole crew. And Taggart gets something special for you yanking out his tooth.” Kane remained completely still for several moments, his eyes looking directly at Loring with no sense of fear or intimidation or remorse. He then said “So… deal or no?”

Kane, Tac / Med

Loring closed his eyes for a second and shook his head gently, “Humble as always Mr. Kane.” He reached up and tapped the controls that released the forcefield on the cells. “I had already had something in mind for you fellows. I did not want to believe you held this much animosity towards me for something my own superiors wanted done. No matter,” He motioned towards the box. You can either take what I have to offer you in this box.” He then motioned towards the door, “Or you can walk. I have no intentions of holding you here. I have already spoken with the appropriate people to ensure if you walk out of here they won’t put you back in.” Loring then leaned back in his chair. “Rook to Pawn, E3.”

-GM

“If referring to us as the pawns then no thank you. But I’ll bite. What if we don’t like what you have to offer? Will you still let us go or reconfine us or......silence us?”

Chris, XO of the Inmates (Next Hollywood pirate movie)

Loring merely motioned at the door. “There is the exit.”

Kane chuckled. “He could try. He might even win. But it would be very messy. That, I promise.” and he stepped over to the box and opened it to see what trickery Loring had in mind now.

Kane, Tac / Med

The box opened and held a phase unlike any seen by crews in this timeline. It’s look was sleek and streamlined. Something current Star-Fleet Engineering had yet to do. Small enough to fit in ones pocket but with settings up to and including vaporize. Beside it a small chunk of blackened metal. Lighter than it should have been for it’s size. Loring waited, watching with a neutral expression.

-GM

Chris whistled when the box opened and saw the contents. “I’ll bite. Looks like a phaser of some sorts and what’s that black metal looking thing?”
Chris

Stone just watched with interest the exchange that was taking place. As much as she hated Loring, she had to admit, the man was resourceful.
