After the fiasco with Loring the Chernov made its way to Risa to give the crew a well deserved furlough. Stovik himself wasn’t interested much in visiting Risa except for a few evening walks on the beach. He used these for meditation and contemplation.

Otherwise he spent his time coordinating repairs with Scott and his crew as well as completing the required reports to Starfleet. Despite Lorings stringent protests Stovik filed a truthful report to Headquarters on the mission they had been forced to undergo. If Stovik had been human he would have had to admit to himself that he was angry about what Loring had demanded from his crew and what he put them through. Yes, the crew willingly had signed up into Starfleet and was required to fulfill missions as required but what Loring and his group had demanded went even beyond that.

He was Vulcan though, it was not his practise to give in to his feelings of anger and resentment toward Loring. Or that was what he struggled with in meditation. Outwardly and to the crew he appeared as calm and collected as usual.

Now he sat at the working console in his quarters with some half completed reports on the console as he stared contemplatively out at the stars.

Captain Stovik

The Captain’s musings were interrupted by a comm from the bridge. [O]Bridge to Captain Stovik and Commander Traggart, Admiral Beymer is docking at Shuttlebay 1., sirs.[C]
He blinked a couple of times before toggling the comms in response,[O]Understood, Ensign.[C] Rising from his chair he straightened his uniform and checked his appearance in the mirror which he passed as he exited his quarters and headed toward Deck 13 and the Shuttlebay.
