Most of the older art pieces were paintings of the Galdori mythology, historical events, and ancient figures. Most were labeled with artist, medium, and approximate date of creation, if known. The oldest pieces, what seemed to be photographs of cave paintings, claimed to be from a time more than ten thousand years ago, which the label named ~4000 B.U. - Before Unification. This was the equivalent of about 7000 years of earth time B.U., since the base system was different on Galdor.

Early artwork portrayed only one species at a time, but as the artwork progressed in time painted, up to The Day of Unification, about six-thousand earth years ago, multiple races being portrayed got more and more common to see. After that, it was rare to see less than two in a piece of historical or mythological art. Parallels like the Greek and Roman Pantheons could be seen in the mythological art.

Something strange was that even in art that was seemingly before the four terrestrial races had met, there was evidence of a shared mythology. Although the exact names and depictions varied, the depicted stories were rather similar…

“Mister Mwezi,” T’Aria spoke up when she noticed the oddity surrounding their religion. “I am curious; in regards to your religious practices.. It would appear each of the four races shared similar beliefs in mythology, prior to the Unification. Similar to the various monotheistic religions of Earth, which follow a single ‘God’ although have a multitude of versions of an akin being, and the stories surrounding their precense.” She paused, “Do you happen to know why there are such similarities between the religions of your people even prior to the acceptance of each other?”

Mwezi nodded slightly, and there was a slight twitch of his digitally feline tail. “Yes, although you may find it difficult to believe. Our gods… Are real beings,” he fell silent, allowing his three guests to process his words and their meaning. He had received many different responses to such a claim in the past, and doubted their replies would be much different than usual.

Mwezi

Chris saw Mwezi’s tail twitch and was hesitant to proceed with his question. He had to reword it. “T’Aria is right about that. The “gods” Earth worshiped were created and made up by primitive bronze age men to control the people of the time and for future generations. They weren’t real even though most people believed that they were real. It took many centuries, even a couple of millennia to overcome this. But you are saying that your gods are real? For real real?”

Commander Chris Taggart XO

Catching the tail end of the discussion, Stovik moved away from the piece he had been studying and back toward the group, his attention caught on the subject. He waited to hear Mwezi’s answer.

Mwezi smiled slightly. “Yes. The Eleven gods of Galdor are real beings. Perhaps not Divine like some might think. The Galdori do not believe that our gods created the universe. What they did do was create the people of my world, and shape the terrain to be more favorable for us. They guided the development of civilization and gave us the gift of empathic senses so that we could be a peaceful people,” he explained. “There are many myths about the works of the gods, but it’s not always clear which stories are true and which are tales made up by the great storyweavers of the past,” he added.

Mwezi, Sec

Chris was stunned. “Fascinating! A civilization far superior then our own many many millennia ago! Do any of them or their descendants exist still?”

Commander Chris Taggart XO

“As far as I am aware, the Eleven are either immortal or timeless. They are not the only beings with power of that kind… I am certain there are similar beings out there. We merely have not met them yet,” Mwezi spoke with a small smile. “The universe has been around for a very long time, after all.”

Mwezi

Ooc: almost referenced the progenitors, Bajoran wormhole aliens, and the Q. Then I remembered our setting.

“Do you have contacts with these beings? Do they reside here?” Stovik asked curiously.
