=/\= Kane to CMO. I’m on the bridge and have the injured here take care of. Heads up the CO is on the way to you, probable rib fractures. I am showing gravity restored in Sickbay. Do you want me to head back or keep up here to lend a hand… They could use it, Doc. We got hammered. =/\=

Kane, Tac / Med

The Doctor headed back to the comm, to respond.

=^=Understood, doctor. I will assess and assist the Captain. It would be preferable for you to come back to the Sickbay. Unless you are of utmost need by the people on the bridge, your assistance would be better utilized, here. After the gravity was reactivated, several officers experienced further injuries. We need all hands on deck.=^=

Dr. T’Aria

[o] Copy that, Doc. On my way. [c]

OOC: Snip out of triage post that is moved over to Triage thread to shorten this one.
OOC: Edited. Sorry about that.

“Do we have a casualty estimate, Doctor? How many of the crew are down?”Stovik asked though by the chaos he could see in the Med Bay he was not entirely sure she would have the answer to that question yet.

Captain Stovik

“I doubt no less than twenty, sir. We will return to you with statistics once we have dealt with the urgent issues.” She didn’t have a full answer, far more concerned about getting the officers help, as opposed to determining numbers. “Please stay still, Captain.” She quickly ran a scan to figure out what was wrong, so she could fix it as quickly as happened to be possible. In this madness, she didn’t suspect she had much time to lose.

Dr. T’Aria
CMO

[snip]
Upon scanning the Captain, T’Aria would find three broken ribs and a slight concussion from the blow he’d taken on his right temple when he had hit the console. His scalp was still bleeding though it was obvious from his uniform sleeve that he had swiped at it quite a few times. There were other various bruises and contusions as well but they were not as serious.

T’Aria quickly noted the injuries, before disappearing, momentarily, to retrieve a dermal regenerator and an osetogenic stimulator, for the broken ribs. Upon return, she set the latter down: “You have three broken ribs, captain. A minor concussion, which I would assume is from impact to an object and active bleeding.” She chose to address the issues one at a time. She grabbed a sterilized cloth to gently wipe the blood from the debatable laceration, which she could only judge by the amount of bleeding. “Hold still, sir.”

Once he had, she focused her attention on the cut, using the dermal regenerator to fix the cut, as best as it would allow. “The dermal regenerator can heal the cuts, but not the broken bones. For them, I would suggest osteogenic stimulation, but it will require you to rest for at least one hour, sir. As for your concussion, there is nothing that can be done to instantly heal it, however I can give you a dose of Vertazine, which will alleviate any pain and dizziness you might experience from the concussion.” She informed the Captain of what she was doing, seeing as he was also a Doctor, or ex-Doctor.

Stovik nodded in understanding.”Understood, Doctor. That should give me enough time to make it back to the bridge before our guests arrive.” He said agreeing to the treatment. Then he laid back and watched the chaos that was whirling around them.

Captain Stovik

The Doctor gave a quick nod, filling a hypospray with the noted medicine, before injecting it into his arm. Readying the Osteogenic Stimulator, she applied it to the area of his broken ribs, allowing for the natural healing of his ribs to begin, which would allow him to be on his feet quicker, so he could get back to the bridge for whatever he might possibly need to do. “All right, this should be done, momentarily, sir. Tell me if you experience any pain,” She then gave him a hard look, or the Vulcan female equivalent to it. “Perhaps it is of the mind, but I need to know.”

Dr. T’Aria

The Andorian engineer had calmed once the CMO had chided him. Thankfully, because he’d prepared for zero G, he didn’t sustain much extra damage as gravity was restored. The fall, however, did shake him fully conscious. Dark blood stained his teeth as he grit them, one antennae curling in pain, the other clearly injured and unable to bend at the moment. Th’elin began practicing breath control, breathing in and out and pausing in between. Hopefully he wasn’t as injured as he felt… He had to get back to engineering…

-Ensign Zarath, Engineering

Her gaze shot across the room, searching for any other officers that might be injured. Taking notice of the Ensign, her eyebrows shot up. “Doctor O’Heron!” She shouted over the chaos, to the doctor who had been working on minor injuries, which a nurse could have easily taken care of. “Get on a Ensign Zarath, now! Get him on oxygen, and get him an NSAID. If that doesn’t help with the pain, or he is fighting, give him 5ccs of propofol, to get him into a state of twilight, so you can assess his wounds.” Propofol was simply the drug name of general anesthesia. Such a low amount was generally used to twilight a person, or a drug such as fentanyl or ketamine. However, she figure the anesthesia would be more helpful with the pain. Once the young NE had nodded, and scuffled away, she turned back.

Dr. T’Aria
CMO

“Ensign!” The young NE called, quickly makigbhis way over to the Andorian, where he knelt beside him. “Are you Alright? Can you hear me?” He asked, trying to figure out the state of consciousness within the man. Snapping his fingers, he asked for assistance to get the Andorian onto a biobed.. or something beyond the cold, hard ground.

NE O’Heron

OOC: I’m not sure if those medicines are different for Star Trek, I just know they are used in medicine, today. Haha.

Zarath shot the doctor an annoyed look, one antennae curling forward. “Fine.. I’m just fine. Only caught a bulkhead in the chest, Doc.” His words oozed with sarcasm, and he coughed when he tried to laugh, his breath wheezing out of his lunge with a crackling sound. “I gotta get back on duty… That crazy jackass blew off one of our nacelles!”

-Ensign Zarath, Engineering

“Jackasses will be jackasses, but you, Ensign, need to rest.” He remarked, after the struggle of moving the man away from the ground, which, once done, he chose to speak again. “Where doesn’t it hurt the most, Zarath?”

NE O’Heron

“Hurts to breathe, mostly.” He managed, trying not to chuckle at O’heron’s comment. His eyes rolled up to try and see his antennae, one of which dangled useless. “and I think one of my translated Antennae is broken. Stings pretty badly.”

-Ens. Zareth, Engineering

“Okay, lay back. I am going to give you an anesthetic to help with the pain, no, no one to knock you out. But, it will make you feel numb. So, don’t stand up. After all, those antennae are your only ticket to balance.” He prepared the hypo and quickly injected it, adding in a NSAID for the pain, more so on the muscular side of things, as opposed to the nerve. “Tell me when you can no longer feel it.”

NE O’Heron
Doc

He laid back, and the tightness in his chest eased as the medicine took hold. Th’elin had been on the verge of lecturing the doctor on the function of Andorian Anntenae, but the words died on his lips as his body relaxed and and he slipped into a light sleep, the pain fading and allowing him comfort. Further examination would probably reveal skeletal and muscle tissue damage from the impact trauma of being crushed beneath a falling bulkhead.

-Ens. Zarath, Engineering

Ha’ge, once the gravity was restored, ensured that the shunt he had placed into Chi’s side remained stable and had not caused more damage. Nothing further could be done to help his sister until she received a transfusion and he would not linger at her side when others required his assistance. Satisfied that the shunt had not caused further internal hemorrhage, Ha’ge strapped Chi’s unconscious body to the biobed via restraints at her wrists, midsection and ankles before moving on to begin the triage process as Kane had done, localizing his process to the entry of the biobay and those who walked in from other units with various injuries. As ordered, there would be three levels of care each patient would be labeled as requiring. The first patient hobbled in with another officer at his side, the injured wearing the hold of navigation while the former wore the blue of science corp.

After a quick triage of both men, a tag designating them low risk and requiring basic assistance was given to both officers and then they were led to a handful of nurses Ha’ge had secured into a free corner of the medical bay for basic care duties. Ha’ge continued the process and work until told otherwise, noting the Captain’s presence with a slight nod of his head and then continuing on with his duties as the CMO addressed his needs.

Ha’ge, doc

Chi felt like she was floating. The world was a waterbed and she was asleep despite it all. Was she upset? She couldn’t remember. What had happened? No idea. The world was comfortable here. Comfortable, tame and her friends were alive.... wait. Alive?

WHO TURNED THE GRAV OFF
OH GODS HELP US
GET THE SYSTEMS BACK ONLINE

Who was screaming? Why did they have to be so loud? Why-

THUMP.

Ow. Chi winced at what felt like someone full on body slamming her back into consciousness. It stung like nothing else, but it brought her back to her senses somewhat. The ship, her friends, the naecell. Everything. An here she was, useless. Attempting to come to, Chi felt her eye open to the blinding lights of the medical bay. With an effort that she did not realize she herself could put forth she attempted to move her leg. Nothing. Chi felt slightly worried. She attempted to move the other. Nada. Her worry intensified. It took her a moment to realize that she wasn’t in fact paralyzed, another to get her panic under control and a third to realize that her stupid brother had for some reason strapped her down. She called out weakly for Ha’ge, coughing wetly and continuing her call. she couldn’t be useless. Not now.

JO CBM

Ha’ge had just finished treating a larger laceration with a bio gel that fused the skin for faster cell regeneration when he heard his sister’s voice. Moving quickly to her side, Ha’ge felt her unease and tracked her eye movement to the restraints at her sides. Of course the safety measure would make her uncomfortable.

Ha’ge did not see the point in lying to Chi. She had always been smarter than the average human and to lie was to be illogical in life as well as in patient care. Instead he gave her the prognosis solemnly and waited for her reply.

“Chi, you have sustained internal injury and have lost a large amount of blood. I was able to recycle a large amount into your system but given a few more hours without a transfusion, you will go into carcinogenic shock. Do you understand?”

Ha’ge, Doc

“If she needs a calming mechanism, try giving her three ccs of melatonin; that will calm any nerves and make it easier for her to rest.” T’Aria commented from afar, upon realising the stance of Ha’ge’s adoptive sister. She had seen enough of Chi to know how headstrong and stubbornly naive she was, despite being incredibly intelligent, thus she gave the suggestion to Ha’ge. But, if he were listening closely, it was more of ‘If she freaks out, give her the melatonin.’ A double entendre, if you would.

Dr. T’Aria

Ha’ge noted the intentions of the doctor and nodded his assent. Chi was a brave human, but even she had her limits and she would be fast approaching her threshold for tolerable pain and panic. Preparing a hypo beneath the side of the bed and out of Chi’s line of sight, Ha’ge slipped the syringe into his jacket pocket in case the solution was in fact required.

The Medical bay’s Comm unit beeped [O]Bridge to Captain Stovik, we’ve made First Contact with the Aliens but nothings translating. Commander Taggart is attempting communications but we’re not certain how well it’s going[C] The Soft Scottish brogue of the Chief Science officer came from the wall panel.

CSO

[O]Understood, I will return to the bridge within the hour when my treatment is completed. Stovik out.[C] Laying back down onto the biobed, Stovik let the sounds and sights of the Med Bay wash over him as his mind went over the events on the bridge from the last hour.

A few minutes later he reached out to toggle the comms again,[O]Stovik to Engineering. Status?[O]

Captain Stovik

The comms crackled alive with a message for the Captain.
[O] Captain. We made first contact. They are fifteen minutes out and wants us to surrender. I told them that I would. He thinks I am the Captain and I prefer to keep it that that for now. Got the good of the ship, you need to comply because the ship needs your experience and expertise. Taggart out.[O]
