“Yes. If the Orion’s try to stop us Captain Deggur here will step in an diffuse the situation. That is why I have LT Science shirt with me. He will have an ear piece in that he can hear Commander Stovik talk to help him. If none of that occurs then we will head straight to where Chief Whitney has scanned for the objects. I’m betting that we will not hear from any Romulans until we locate the Allspark thing. Then all hell will break loose. That is why you and the Chief are finding the cloaked ship’s so that we know where they are in advance. We will act like we don’t know where they are and might even pass by closely to see if they move and get a better reading. Once done we will be ready. So basically we will pull off some kind of Indiana Jones and Han Solo jump in and out heist. “

Captain Chris Taggart CO

“I see…” Will said with a hesitant tone. For a moment he considered asking the Captain to whom he was referring but considering his penchant for referencing 2oth century popular culture he was certain that the answers would be less than illuminating. “Well, we’ll continue our work” He turned around but stopped for a moment “The Bridge, as they say, is yours Captain” He said with a half smile before returning to the Chief Engineer and Deggur, joining them in their combined effort to locate the cloaked vessel.

CSO

Deggur listened to the exchange, unsure what a Han Solo was or who this Indiana Jones person was supposed to be, but assumed that the Solo was something that Mr. Jones would do during the heist, if he understood correctly. He shook his head, extremely confused, then continued deciphering the scans.

“Have we had any hits on the cloaking scans yet?” William asked the pair. He stood behind Deggur and seemed even more rigid than usual. He looked over their screens and read the relevant information.

CSO

“Nothing yet, sir,” Deggur replied.

OOC: Phil is recovering from a visit to the hospital and an infection but he will be attempting to catch up. Thx everyone for your patience!

Krys

OOC: No worries! Hope everything is ok?

-Curtiss/Ensign Deggur, Science

OOC: As long as no one slaps me for not posting often enough :P

Andy

OOC: me too. Heh. Sorry folks.

IC: Mwezi kept an eye on the security station, one ear flicking in confusion at Deggur and the Captain’s… conversation.

William placed his hand absentmindedly on his right hip hitting his phaser by accident and immediately withdrew it as if touching it burned his skin. He looked down and frowned. He understood that serving on a Battleship meant that he would occasionally have to use weapons but that didn’t minimize his dislike for such uncivilized tools. Well two parts felt that way, the third was as usual in disagreement.

CSO

OOC: Sorry I’m late but unexpectedly had to work this weekend…

IC: Deggur continued to monitor the scans, hoping he would notice something soon. That cloaked vessel was out there somewhere…

-Ensign Deggur, Science/Curtiss

Whitney continued to monitor the large Orion, waiting for some sign of their quarry and an analysis of the Orion ship

CE

The Orion ship came up as a pirate type ship and the scans were showing us possible locations of cloaked ships.

Storyteller, Gordon Shumway.

Deggur immediately noticed the possible coordinates and relayed that information to Lt. Cmdr. Grey.

William nodded in approval “Alright, let’s log those locations in and monitor them carefully. If we see any discrepancies or noticeable differences we should be able to detect which of these are in fact cloaked vessels” He said with a modicum of excitement “Well or we could be wrong and we’ll all die a horrible fiery death” He said with an oddly cheerfull tone “Either or it’s going to be an interesting day.”

CSO

“Aye, sir,” the Orion responded, logging each location with the precision of someone who had to work hard to excel.

-Ensign Deggur, Science

At that time the Orion ship started hailing the Chernov.

Gordon Shumway Storyteller

Stovik looked over at Deggur,”Ready, Captain?” He asked before nodding to communications.”On screen.”

Commander Stovik

Deggur nodded but gave the commander a look of slight apprehension. He hoped that he was up to the task. Deception was not really his strong suit.

A big Orion but not as big as Deggur appeared on screen. He had a patch covering his left eye like Captain Taggart and a scar that ran down his whole cheek.

“This is Captain Driger and......what in blazes do we have here? An Orion officer in Starfleet? This is interesting. Why are you there?”

NE Captain Driger, Orion ship

Ensign/Captain Deggur stood with his arms to his side, barely clutching the bottom of his tunic. He wasn’t sure if the more rugged looking Driger would be able to see through his demeanor but he refused to back down now.

“What does it look like?” he growled indignantly, “Commanding a star ship!”

The Orion was taken aback and he let out a slow smile that was a little unnerving to anyone who was not Orion. “I see. Congratulations Captain.”

He smiled, baring those teeth of his so that Driger could see his sharpened incisors. “But seriously, captain, you can call me Deggur. What brings you to this sector of space?”

-Ensign/Captain Deggur, Science/CO

Diplomatic exchanges meant little to him, and he was more than happy to let this little roleplay run its course without his involvement. He examined the readings from the Orion ship that were being transferred by Grey and focused scans on weapons, shields and engines. Simultaneously, he narrowed the sensor profile he’d picked up from the cloaked Romulan ship and transferred that profile back to Grey, with a written request to focus on each potential and ignore anything that didn’t match at least 85%

CE

The one eyed Orion looked around. “We are here to scavenge remains which we are free to do do to universal law stating we can. And we are here looking for Romulans. They have been spotted out here. I think it very brass of them since they are a very long way from the Neutral Zone. Have you seen any?”

Gordon Shumway, Storyteller

William followed the instructions of the Chief Engineer, only allowing 12% to monitor the conversation between the two Orions. He wondered what the grave robber considered to be a universal law as he doubted the man held much regard for the rule of law, specifically that the old Vulcan system was still a part of the Federation ‘no entry’ list.

CSO

“Romulans? Out here?” Deggur tried to redirect the question. “They would have to be bold indeed to violate the Neutral Zone treaty so blatantly. We haven’t seen any, but why would you be looking for them this far from the Neutral Zone?”

The ensign/captain was a little nervous, but thanks to his Orion physiology, it didn’t show at all. He really hoped that he wouldn’t have to keep up this charade.

-Ensign/Captain Deggur, Science/CO

The other Orion was a little upset by that comment. “Do you think us fools to be out here on a hunch?!! You’re ship is superior to ours and yet you act like a fool! I pity your crew…Captain! So again, do you know about them being here?”
