“The scans seem to show some unknown technology on the ship. So far I can assign what each piece of tech may be used for and nothing seems out of the ordinary.” He said calmly as he looked at the screen.

The doors of the bridge whooshed open to show the Captain striding out. His darkly recessed eyes scanned the bridge as he looked for the XO, hoping that he was still on the bridge. He saw him standing and facing the viewscreen so he too looked toward it. Assuming that his XO would be speaking with the aliens again.

Captain Stovik

Mwezi stood next to the XO, quiet.

William continued working with Stone at his station, he hoped for naught, he truly didn’t understand the Commanders militant idalism.

The console beeped again before the Commander of the aliens came back on the screen. He leaned forward and his words sounded out before becoming clear. “Our Translator has picked apart your primitive language style.” He leaned back in his seat. “I am Gul Manok of the Cardassian vessel Lor’ken. You have violated our space and polluted the area with debris and corpses! You will surrender your ship and crew, to be tried and convicted of trespassing our space.”

-GM

Chris smirked a bit. “First off. Greetings Gul Manok. I am Commander Chris Taggart of the Federation ship USS Chernov. I apologize for being in your space and for “polluting” it but it could not be helped nor prevented. We have every good intention of cleaning up the debris and gathering up our dead. We have already sent out a subspace message informing the Federation of our troubles and clean up crews will be here shortly.” He paused a moment before going on.

“Secondly. And I can’t stress this enough to you Gul Manok. We are not going to surrender and I will not put my crew through your brutish trials. I am sure if the situation was reversed you would either. Where we come from, We have a thing called due process. Where we go up to a court with a judge and a jury of OUR peers decides our fate after listening to both sides and reviewing the evidence. You just said that we WILL be tried and convicted. I don’t see the due process of that. We came in peace and we will leave in peace and inform the Federation that this space belongs to the Cardasians. They will notify every other ship of this and they will steer clear of your precious space. So if you will not aid us in fixing the ship so we can leave peacefully then I suggest that you leave at once and leave us alone. Is that understood Gul Manok?”
Chris had no idea that the Captain was on the bridge.

Gul Makon laughed gently, “Im not sure you comprehend the situation here. We can clearly see that your ship is crippled. Why waste the lives of your crew in a standoff you cannot win?” He gestured to someone offscreen. “You have 10 minutes to comply before I have my weapons officer use your tin can for target practice.” With that, the screen went back to it’s view of space and the ship ahead of them moving to a better firing arc.

Chris kept a straight face, his best poker face on while the Gul talked. As the screen went back to space view he noticed their ship getting into a better position to fire. This Gul really had the ship and crew in a very serious disadvantage. He kept starring into space for a couple of moments before addressing the crew without turning around and still looking at the view screen.

“Well. At least he has a sense of humor. Mr. Grey and Mrs. Stone, please tell me that you have something or at least will be done in ten minutes? If not, I understand. It is a lot to ask for in a very unreasonable time.”

He turned around and then noticed the Captain standing there. In a calm and solemn voice he addressed him. “Captain. As you no doubt have heard, we have ten minutes before we are space dust. I have ordered awhile ago to have photon torpedoes to be disguised as debris and be remote activated. That’s the best I can think of then. They would push them out into space towards the ship and when they got within range, then boom.”

“But It looks like we will not have enough time to do that. So the other option is to see if they will accept me as a prisoner and let you all go. They think that I am the Captain of the ship. So if they take me then it will leave you to command the Chernov and lead the crew to safety. A very high ranking officer and person of great importance is very enticing bait. Not saying that I am that way of course, but they will hopefully see it that way. If you or any of you here, have a better idea then I am all ears. But let me see Where we are at in engineering before we decide.”

He pressed the toggle on the chair. [O] Engineering this is the bridge. What is your status? How soon can you have warp, shields and weapons online? We have only ten minutes before we surrender or be blown to smithereens.[O]

Commanded Chris Taggart XO

Lorings snark would be the first thing on return comms. =/\=Have you tried turning it off and back on again? Oh wait, your Chief Engineer tried to arrest me before I could stop this fiasco from happening. Try bribing them with some fruit or something while I save this ship.=/\=

-GM

[O] Loring? If that’s you then now is seriously not the time for jokes, personal vendettas or the like. You need to swallow your stupid pride and assist not take charge of engineering. Can you assist Engineering or not?[O]

Commander Chris Taggart XO

The comms crackled and satrted playing a recording, =/\=The number you have reached is no longer in service. Please hang up and try your call again.=/\=

-GM

Chris looked confused and looked around the room to see if anyone got the humor or reference from what was just heard.

XO

“Sir, we can put up a fight, but it doesn’t look good. If they have similar technology level of our weapons and shields, then the few torpedoes being launched manualy won’t be enough to seriously cripple them. It might however be enough as show of force, that we can still fight. Currently they think we can’t defend at all. Escaping on impulse alone is also impossible, we’d have to warp out if we want to escape confrontation.” Stone reported to the CO. She wondered if they could really bluff their way out of this.

Lt. Andrea Stone, COS

“He does seem overly arrogant in his ability to defeat us. There are multiple plans that I believe could work, Captain.” Nack said as he started to scan holoprojectors on the ship.
