Taiya lay panting on her back on the deck as she tried to catch her breath from the wild ride and looked across to check the creature was still out for the count. As she gingerly sat up, she only had a couple of seconds to take in her surroundings before the rest of the team came crashing down. She just about managed to roll out of the way before the team hit the floor with a loud thud.

Meanwhile up above the remaining crew felt a tremor in the floor and suddenly the floor gave out under them and they were sent sprawling widliy down an even larger slide to roll out on the large white floored room where the XO and Kane were. Unfortunately Reid got the short straw on luck and ended up spraining his right wrist at an awkward angle dislocating it at the right elbow as well.

=/\= Test 3A has begun, awaiting results of testing group 2-Alpha =/\= It said.

It took William a good three seconds before reacting to the falling. The sudden fall was well… quite sudden. Halfway down the slide he managed a cry of surprise “Sheeeeiiii…” a cry he held all the way down. Once on the Floor he ignored his instincts to stand up as his head started throbbing again from his previous injury.

CSO

As she looked around the crumpled forms of the rest of the teams she slowly got to her feet. “Is everyone alright?” she asked as she surveyed the damage and immediately spotted the unusual angle of Reid’s arm. Her medical training kicking in, she dashed across and knelt down beside him, putting a gentle hand on his good shoulder. “Don’t move Lt, stay as still as you can. It looks like you’ve bought yourself a dislocated elbow…” she said in as reassuring tone as she could muster. Without any equipment or drugs, it would be excruciating for Reid to put the joint back in place however if they didn’t, he could lose the use of his arm but as a neurologist, she knew it wasn’t really her area of expertise.

Keeping her hand on Reid’s shoulder, she used her other hand to beckon Blaze over. “Dr Blaze, I need the sleeve of your uniform, then help the Captain over here if he’s able to…” she asked hopefully, not able to see the Captain’s state from where she was.

Commander Keali (XO)

Chris hurt bad bit was able to manage through the pain. His arm hurt and it felt sprained but wasn’t. He shook his head to clear his thoughts as he heard the voices of their hosts talk about more tests.

Through the pain, Reid managed a smile, barely visible through his mop of brown hair. “I grew up as a child prodigy in Las Vegas public schools. It could be worse than a dislocated shoulder.” He winced. “You’re a neurologist by specialty, but all medical doctors have emergency training. I trust you.” He nodded that he was ready.

-Dr Alex Reid, CE

Keali smiles warmly and nodded. “I appreciate your confidence in me Dr, however, Captain Taggart was a surgeon before taking the command chair, I’d like to get his opinion as well. We’ll get you fixed up as soon as we can. Just rest for a moment and try not to think about it,” she reassured with a gentle squeeze on his shoulder. She could sense his pain but pushed it to the side.

Commander Keali (XO)

Will sat up and looked at the engineer, suddenly grateful for his lack of pain “Try growing up a Scottish Child Genius in Texas” He smiled at Reid, as warmly as he could “You know I’m spending a lot less time on a starship than I thought I would” He mused “Perhaps next mission we can be kidnapped by someone less test crazy”

CSO

Chris was dragged over to where Commander Keali and Dr. Reid were. He looked at the shoulder and felt it with his only arm. “Does this hurt when I do this Dr. Reid?”

Captain Chris Taggart CO

“Very much so. But that might be the dislocated shoulder talking.”

-Dr Alex Reid, CE

Blaze was doing his job by keeping the crew together when the moved they move as one. Blaze was good with faces every now and then he will see a face disappear from the group.

Dr. Alexander Blaze (Engineer)

“Ok. Reid. We have two options. Either leave you here because you’re no use to anyone or we cut your arm off using the teeth of one of those beasts over there? Which is it?”

Captain Chris Taggart CO

“Or… and this is just a thought… set my shoulder. The XO can do it by hand. Or I can close my eyes and do it myself. I did it in high school.”

-Dr Alex Reid, CE

“Or nothing. Those were the only two options. Which is it? Left behind or get it cut off?” He was very serious and his tone and facial expression matched it.

Captain Chris Taggart CO

At the CO’s comment the computer voice spoke =/\= Observing test subject 1 Alpha adjusting psychological profile for current unexpected parameters =/\= It said.

Reid held his shoulder and breathed slowly. 3…2…1 he snapped it back into place. Crude, but effective. “Son of a-“ he stood up and walked away from Taggart. Looking around the room, he searched for an exit or any sign of technology. He looked saddened. Taggart had taken away the one person he truly trusted.

-Dr Alex Reid, CE

=/\= Preliminary solution to Test 3A complete, awaiting final completion to confirm..=/\= It said. Checks by Reid found no sign of obvious technology present, nor exits. The most stand out features in the large arena like room were the arrayed T and L shaped like beams currently near the group that the XO had gotten her animal clobbered on. The T shaped beams were cool to the touch almost uncomfortably so, the L shaped beams meanwhile were much warmer to the touch though not uncomfortably so. Still the warmth was likely welcome to his touch given the quite chilly nature of the room overall.

OOC: Gonna assume you touched each beam. Just to move this along a smidge.

=/\= Test 5A has begun, awaiting result. =/\= The computer intoned.

Chris did not like what Dr. Reid did. “Ensign Deggur. Since I can’t right now. I order you to bring back Dr. Reid to me and pop out his shoulder again with your strength. I gave him his only options and he blatantly disregarded his superior Officer. This man needs to be taught a lesson.”

=/\= Test subject 1 Alpha Psychological profile updated, continuing observation of remaining test subjects. Executing parameter refinements on Test 9A, 10C and 90D. Beginning refinement execution of Test 3A on group 2 Alpha awaiting final results..=/\= It stated

Keali watched with her mouth open, not really believing what was unfolding before her eyes. Whether it was the stress of the situation or the fact that he hadn’t practiced medicine in a while, Taggart’s bedside manner was worse than a Klingon with a hangover. “Belay that order Ensign,” she barked at Deggur. Although she had promised the Captain she wouldn’t use her telepathic abilities on the crew, something definitely wasn’t right here and she needed to know what was going on.

He looked at Commander Keali with strong conviction in his eye. Mentally he was thinking that she now might be using ability on him to figure out why he is doing and acting the way he is right now. Mentally speaking inside his head. “Commander Keali. Can you hear me? I got the voices to change my psych code. I want the others to randomly do things against their character. Don’t hurt Deggur but instead hurt me. Knock me out if you have to but hurt me and take command.”

Captain Chris Taggart CO

As she opened her mouth to question the Captain, his voice chimed in her head unexpectedly. She wasn’t exactly sure where his train of thought was going but at least it explained his odd behaviour. She raised an eyebrow as she looked at him but seeing his determined look she sighed and gave an almost imperceptible nod. Taking a deep breath she launched her fist towards his face as hard as she could, wincing as it met his cheek with a little more force than she had intended. She gulped as she watched him crumple to the floor and rubbed her now bruised knuckles. Looking round the rest of the baffled team she knew she had to put on her best poker face as she looked back down at the Captain with her hands on her hips. “Captain Chris Taggart, you are hereby relieved of duty under section C of starfleet order 104. I would normally order you to be restrained but you’re not going to get very far hopping away. Just in case, Lt Mwezi, if he moves, shoot him…” she added as harshly as she could.

Commander Keali (XO)

“Section C?” William looked aghast at the very implication of the Commanders words. It seemed as if the Captain had indeed lost his mind, well what little there was left a dark thought cropped in. “Commander, Mwezi has nothing to shoot him with.” He said regaining his composure, stiffening even more than usual. He looked back at the rest of the team and gave them as good a neutral expression as he was capable of. Taking a step closer “I’m not certain that hitting the Captain was the right course of action, Ma’am” If he was at all conflicted he didn’t show it. Under normal circumstances, he would have ordered the Commander be placed under arrest for assaulting the Captain but the sequence of events was much too odd for him to make a decision on.

CSO

Keali squared up to Grey as best she could being considerably shorter than him and gave him a stern look. “It was a figure of speech Lt Cmdr, and your objections have been duly noted. Now unless you want to join Captain Pegleg on my bad side, I suggest you find a way to get us the hell out of here!” she barked. She felt awful for behaving so aggressively but she had to trust that the Captain had good reason for his order. As she glanced over to check on the Captain she felt a pang of guilt but quickly pushed it aside to keep up the ruse. “Anyone else have a problem?!” she asked sternly, raising an eyebrow.

William raised an eyebrow at the woman’s threat. Despite the fact that she was almost thirty centimeters shorter and probably around as many kilograms lighter she was more experienced and probably had been in a real fight unlike him. He felt a dark tingle in the back of his mind. Not now He thought to himself as he backed of. He opened his mouth to respond when the voice came again.

=/\= Test 9A has begun, subject 1 Beta and 1 Delta under observations, awaiting result =/\= It stated seeming more active with the sudden change in subject matter and flurry of activity.

OOC: Nice work guys keep it up!

GM CockRoach

As she felt the crew’s uneasiness and eyes on her she looked back towards Chris, hoping for further instructions.

Commander Keali (XO)

Will looked up then down immediately as something clicked, he finally made the connection between his superiors erratic behavior. He’d been so focused on the personality changes and punches and threats that he hadn’t noticed that he heard the previous announcement. ‘Test subject 1 Alpha Psychological profile updated’ How did he miss that. He didn’t dare go the aggressive route they seemed to be putting on, his advantage though was that a complete change in Psychological profile for him was as natural as breathing. With that, his posture relaxed, his shoulders loosened and he seemed to grow slightly shorter, although it was only in how he carried himself. Now he spoke “No Commander I don’t think they do” His Scottish brogue replaced with a southern drawl, equally as natural.

CSO

OOC: I honestly didn’t get it until now, I felt kinda dumb.

Looking at Keali, Reid said “Captain.” her proper title, being in command. “These two beams are the only things out of place. One runs hot,” he pointed to it. “the other runs cold. Maybe ventilation, maybe water. They have to feed and water these… things. There’s no guarantee of ship traffic to abduct. And somehow I doubt they walk through their own labyrinth. There has to be a duct somewhere.” He traced the beams to both their ends, looking for anything out of place. He had yet to catch onto the plan. All he knew was that this place seemed to be affecting everyone.
