Kane walked up to the doors of the CMO’s office and stopped. Taking a breath, he placed his hand on the reader and the doors slid open. Stepping through, he fought the feeling that he was wrong for being here without her. Looking around at her… now his… office was surreal. And Kane hated the surreal.He walked over to the desk and pressed the comms. =/\= Sickbay to Ops. Send somebody up here to pack up some personal effects. Make it quick, if you don’t mind. =/\= and he sat down. Taking a minute, he exhaled for a long moment and then reached up and pulled the wild mane of hair out of his face and deftly tied it back into a somewhat presentable ponytail and jabbed a finger at the desk interface.
=/\= I need the Charge Nurse and Senior Medic in my office. Now. =/\= and he pulled the files on all the current patients in sickbay.

The charge nurse was doing inventory when she heard the call. “Great. He’s in charge now.” She muttered as she went to the office. “You wanted to see me sir?”
NE Charge Nurse Betsy Buyers.
“I did. Sit.” and he waited for the nurse to be seated.
She sat but didn’t like the way he said it.
“So Lieutenant T’Aria has been transferred. Or something, hell if I know. Skipper put me in the office. So you know what that means… taco Tuesdays are back on. That, and I need you to tell me where in each patient’s treatment plan we are, any concerns you have, and give me a recommendation for Second and Third Watch Nursing Supervisors.” he said matter-of-factly.

“Well I am fond of tacos. Once we are done here I’ll get you the charts. I would say you for first shift, NE Doctor Juan Williams for second shift with myself assisting and NE Doctor Ben Carson for third. But you’re in charge so.”
NE Nurse Betsy Buyers
Kane leaned forward and looked her straight in the eye. “I have the charts. I want to know that you know where our patients are with regards to their treatment.” Without looking at the display screen, Kane continued. “Right now, we have nine patients in Sickbay. You are the Charge Nurse, so I expect you to know what is happening with all of them, at least generally, all the time. If I wanted someone to show me charts instead of knowing what is going on, I’d ask the damn doctors.” and he leaned back.
“And I’m glad you like tacos. That’d be a straight up firing offense if you didn’t. But so help me, anyone tries to feed anyone on this staff a tofu or vegetarian taco will get thrown out an airlock.”
