William stood behind Malkin with his hands behind his back, standing tense as was his way. The overly eager Ensign was slightly amusing that was for certain. He adjusted his tricorder and checked his sidearm once more, he still hadn’t gotten used to the extra weight despite his years on the Chernov. Luckily he hadn’t needed to draw nor fire his weapon yet. As he stood there a few members of his staff ran in with several bags “Sir the clothes you requested” One of them said “Right, sir” William turned to the first officer “I had my team prepare outfits based on our readings of the local population, drab colours and long sleeves.” He grabbed a small bag and stuffed his tricorder and communicator into it. “I suggest we get dressed before reaching the planet.”

CSO, 2O

[O] Commander Malkin this is Captain Taggart. We just recieved transmission that there is a very bad lightning storm in the area that you will be going. Be careful. [O]

Captain Chris Taggart CO

[O]Understood Captain.[C] David turned to the CSO. “Good idea. Alright. Here’s the riddle. Two objects propel themselves or are propelled at warp speed. There’s no apparent fuel or propulsion source. Why are they flying?”

-Lt Cmdr David Malkin, XO

From inside the shuttle NE Useful spoke, “..Shuttle is prepped and ready to go Commander!” He said with a happy hum.

GM CockRoach

“Have fun, everyone. Stay safe,” Mwezi stood in the door to the shufflecraft and gave them a thumbs up before backing off and returning to the bridge.

Mwezi

Will turned to face the large Weapons Officer and nodded slightly “Thank you Lieutenant” He said, slightly relaxing his posture.

CSO

Dr Reid entered. “Hello everyone.” He seemed nervous. His last away mission hadn’t gone well and he wasn’t excited to go on another.

-Dr Alex Reid, aCE

“Dr Reid. Care to speculate on seemingly impossible warp theory?” David tried to put Reid at ease. The young man would be leaving soon anyway. He didn’t need to worry.

William turned to the XO “Sir, was that question erlier some sort of riddle?” He asked.

CSO, 2O

“Not exactly.” David said. “It’s exactly what’s happening. We have a medieval society and two objects travelled at warp speed. How?”

-Lt Cmdr David Malkin, XO

“It could be some low orbit gravitational effect. A gravity well creating a slingshot effect from the other side of the planet.”

-Dr Alex Reid, aCE

“Actually sir to be precise we have two warp signatures appearing within the system, it is too early to classify this as objects or anything else. Doctor Reed’s hypothesis, however, is interesting” The tall Scot turned to face the acting Chief Engineer “I don’t have much experience in warp theory so what do you think about natural occurring warp signals?”

CSO, 2O

“If they’re not objects, they might be energy pulses, essentially acting as their own fuel.” Reid continued to think. “Were they moving away from a star?”

-Dr Alex Reid, CE

“Not clear, we only caught a few pulses but the probe scans seem to indicate that they came from the surface of the world and as far as I could tell they did not appear to head in any specific directions.” William hesitated “Also to be clear, I do not imply that they could not be objects but right at this moment it is too early to classify what we saw as anything besides a strange occurrence”

CSO

NE Useful spoke from within the shuttle at the pilot station. “..So we ready to go yet?” He asked to the assembled away team that should only be made up of humans for the first going ons down to the planet.

GM CockRoach

“Good question.” David looked around. “We seem to be down a couple men.” He stepped over to a comms panel. [O]Lieutent Solomon Kane and Ensign Alexander Blaze to the shuttlebay ASAP.[C]

-Lt Cmdr David Malkin, XO

OOC: So folks can correct me if i’m wrong, but currently I got the list of the human away team as being the XO David Malkin, the CSO William B. Grey, the CMO Solomon Kane, the CE Alex Reid, and the JO Dr. Alexander Blaze right? everyone else as I’ve mentioned and gotten ordered is remaining ship side.

GM CockRoach

OOC: Correct!

Travis

OOC: Blaze. You and Kane need to report to the shuttle bay for an away mission.

Travis

OOC: I suggest we maybe continue this thread and allow the others to join in when the can so we can keep the sim moving?

Hjörtur

OOC: Agreed. GM please continue as if they are all on the shuttle please.

Travis

Kane came running into the shuttle bay at a sprint, pulling on the last of the appropriate clothing and carrying a medical bag in his teeth. “Mmm kmmmnnn. Hhhlld ddd drrr!” and he jumped into the shuttle and spit the bag on the floor. “I’m here, I’m here. Everyone relax.” and he looked around for an empty seat. Finding one, he flopped into it and said “I’m just going to go on record as saying this - ” and he gestured at the clothes ” - isn’t exactly fashionable, ya know. And it’s me saying that, and you’ve all seen my wardrobe.”

Kane, CMO
