Lt. Commander Michael Sideman had only been a Lt. Commander for a couple of days and his assignment as an XO was very new to him. As he walked down hallways other crew could welcome him and call him Commander and sir. It was different as he never let his rank go to his head. To Michael, everyone on the ship was a team. But this was different and he knew it..here he was an executive officer…he must set an example and help keep the crew moving. He was scared but he could not show that as he approached the Captain’s door to report in. Hitting the chime button he waited for a reply.

XO, USS ChernovThere was no reply. A NE LT manning the Conn looked over to him. “If you want the Captain sir, then he in Engineering going over the new ship components that were installed yesterday.”
NE Lt Swing Shift Dude
Looking over at the NE Lt Swing Swift Dude, Michael responded, “Thank you very much.”
With that he headed down to engineering, almost getting lost once. He walked into Engineering and looked for the Captain.
