He rushed into the transporter room and snapped at attention, answering the order for security to meet in the transporter toom. He awaits further orders from his superior officer.

Ensign Silver

Lt. Commander Michael Sideman walked into the transporter room and say the new Ensign. He looked at him and commented, “

“Relax Ensign before you break something.”

Looking at the transporter room Chief, he said,

“Okay Chief, bring them in…”

Lt. Commander Michael Sideman, XO

The light of the transporter brought in four shadowy figures. About seven feet tall, they floated above the transporter pad dressed in tattered black cloaks. One glided up to Sideman. It leaned down, looming over him. A deep roar came from underneath its hood. Yet it made no attempt to actually harm anyone.

-Fate

Sideman covered his ears until the sound stopped. Then understanding first contact protocols, Sideman said:

“Greetings, I am Lt. Commander Michael Sideman, in temporary command of the United Starship Chernov. We mean you no harm, but you appear to come from a region of space that is harming this ship. Do you understand? Do you need our assistance?

Lt. Commander Michael Sideman, XO

Already on his way to the Transporter Room, Mwezi sped up his pace when he heard the loud screeching, and rushed into the room, stopping only when he saw there was no active attacking from the aliens.

Mwezi, CSO

OOC: Bump for the GM

“We are seeking a stowaway on your vessel. Do not interfere.” The three figures remaining on the pad moved to exit. “No members of your crew will be harmed. We seek a mind-stealer. When we find it, we will depart.”

-Fate

The Lt. Commander object,

“That is not good enough, you owe me more of an explanation. Someone in my crew as already died and I will not allow you to harm anyone else” demanded Sideman.

Lt. Commander Michael Sideman, XO

Was there a chance the mind-stealer was the one who had killed NE Peters? Mwezi was quiet, slipping round to stand beside Sideman.

Mwezi, CTO

Just then Bridie’s voice came over the comms. =^=Transporter room, this is engineering. Are you guys rearranging the transporter pad over there or something? What’s the noise?=^= She sounded irritated slightly more than usual.

Bridie

“Stand bye, Chief” came the reply from the Commander.

Sideman, XO

“It is called a Pharia. One of few of its kind. It feeds on your mind while it controls your actions. Any host it deems unfit, it kills. We must find it before it kills one of you.” Another roar and the hooded creatures by the door slipped out. Only the one near Sideman remained. “Your crew will be unharmed. If you help us trap it.”

-Fate

“To late for that,” Mwezi commented. “One of our crew shot himself in the head. Very out of character for him.”

Understanding that this could get worse he nodded,

“How do we help you?” asked Sideman.

Michael Sideman, XO

Silver glanced all around the room refraining as much as possible from gazing into the hooded figures direction. “Sir should I follow the alien?”

Ensign Silver

“Pursue but stay at a reasonable distance. Don’t let them out of your sight, Ensign, and keep in contact with us as to their location and behaviour,” Mwezi instructed his subordinate. He glanced over to the other alien, the one that had stayed. “That way we can make a concerted effort to help our visitors capture this Pharia before anyone else ends up like NE Peters.”

Mwezi, CTO

“Agreed and do not engage unless given specific directions too” added Sideman

Sideman, XO

[O]Grey to Commander Sideman, Doctor Kane is working on some neurological issues with NE Vulko, is the ship functional?”[O]

CSO, 2O

Pressing a button on the communications panel he replied, “We are still working on power issues and now we have some ‘guests’ on the ship. Please send someone to the transporter room.”

Lt. Commander Michael Sideman, XO

The response was slightly delayed [O]”I’m on my way[C] then the comm clicked as it was closed on the other side.

CSO, 2O

At this point, the Commander waited to see what would happen next.

Lt. Commander Michael Sideman, XO

OOC: Pasting from the bridge thread to here. - Hjortur

The lights in the transporter room went down and Sideman knew problems where coming. “What the heck is going on?” he asked as things on the ship started to progress.

If they Captain would not listen, he would take the necessary steps to secure the ship and make sure this situation did not get any worse.

Hitting the communications button the commander said,

“Sideman to Engineering, please respond…”

Michael Sideman, XO

Just as the red alert sounded through the ship two people arrived, the familiar sight of the tall and lanky Science Chief with a short woman in a medical uniform “Commander, did you order the red alert” He asked rather calmly. He gave the security chief a curt nod and eyed the aliens with mild interest.

OOC: Sorry, I missed this.

IC: “No, that was the Captain. He is even moving power from most of the ship and locking down the bridge. I think we have to assume that he has been infected. What that means is we must regain control of the ship. Are you with me?” asked the commander.

Michael Sideman, XO

The final hooded alien said “show me to your bridge.”

Sideman responded, “I would if I could, but the Captain has put the ship on lock down. I think you are having an effect on him too” answered Sideman.

-Fate

Mwezi felt like punching a wall. Dammit Chris. What the heck was he doing? He shouldn’t even be out of bed after his injuries. “Let’s get going,” he growled. “IS Chris even healed from his gut stab?” he asked the Medic as he stepped past them and the CSO. “Dammit. I’m the Chief of Tactical and I’ve lost control of everything… Can’t even trust my men…”

Mwezi, CTO

William cocked his head, his expression that of discomfort “No, the Captain left Sickbay without a word, Doctor Kane was preoccupied with his work. The Captain had been acting oddly but not so that it struck me as odd” He said with some slight shame in his voice, he, of course, was no good judge of character so even if the Captain was acting strangely he would not have noticed easily “We may be able to get engineering to override the Captain’s lockdown, or at least give us a short window to get into the bridge. Through either the Jeffries tubes or turbolift” He said as they walked down the hall “Perhaps both?” He asked the Tactical officer, he knew every inch of the ship but he was no tactical thinker.
