Pressing a button on the communications panel he replied, “We are still working on power issues and now we have some ‘guests’ on the ship. Please send someone to the transporter room.”

Lt. Commander Michael Sideman, XO

The response was slightly delayed [O]”I’m on my way[C] then the comm clicked as it was closed on the other side.

At this point, the Commander waited to see what would happen next.

Lt. Commander Michael Sideman, XO

OOC: Pasting from the bridge thread to here. - Hjortur

The lights in the transporter room went down and Sideman knew problems where coming. “What the heck is going on?” he asked as things on the ship started to progress.

If they Captain would not listen, he would take the necessary steps to secure the ship and make sure this situation did not get any worse.

Hitting the communications button the commander said,

“Sideman to Engineering, please respond…”

Michael Sideman, XO

Just as the red alert sounded through the ship two people arrived, the familiar sight of the tall and lanky Science Chief with a short woman in a medical uniform “Commander, did you order the red alert” He asked rather calmly. He gave the security chief a curt nod and eyed the aliens with mild interest.

bump

OOC: Sorry, I missed this.

IC: “No, that was the Captain. He is even moving power from most of the ship and locking down the bridge. I think we have to assume that he has been infected. What that means is we must regain control of the ship. Are you with me?” asked the commander.

Michael Sideman, XO

The final hooded alien said “show me to your bridge.”

Sideman responded, “I would if I could, but the Captain has put the ship on lock down. I think you are having an effect on him too” answered Sideman.

Mwezi felt like punching a wall. Dammit Chris. What the heck was he doing? He shouldn’t even be out of bed after his injuries. “Let’s get going,” he growled. “IS Chris even healed from his gut stab?” he asked the Medic as he stepped past them and the CSO. “Dammit. I’m the Chief of Tactical and I’ve lost control of everything… Can’t even trust my men…”

Mwezi, CTO

William cocked his head, his expression that of discomfort “No, the Captain left Sickbay without a word, Doctor Kane was preoccupied with his work. The Captain had been acting oddly but not so that it struck me as odd” He said with some slight shame in his voice, he, of course, was no good judge of character so even if the Captain was acting strangely he would not have noticed easily “We may be able to get engineering to override the Captain’s lockdown, or at least give us a short window to get into the bridge. Through either the Jeffries tubes or turbolift” He said as they walked down the hall “Perhaps both?” He asked the Tactical officer, he knew every inch of the ship but he was no tactical thinker.

CSO, 2O
“I think that is what we should do. Otherwise our ‘guests’ might get scared and hurt someone else, answered the XO in agreement.

Sideman, XO

Alerts went everywhere and life support was shut down.

Bridie arrived in the transporter room just then. The bellow on her lips bit back with an audible growl. “What in the asteroids..?” She frowned and stepped up to the console with a speed that forced the NE on duty there to almost scramble out of the way. “What have you guys done to my ship?!!!” She was hardly aware of anyone else in the area and immediately looked thru the logs to find out what had happened to cause things to shut down with such a cascade failing of epic proportions.

Mwezi was furious with how helpless this made him feel. What could he do if he wasn’t directly in front of a threat? And this threat was controlling his Captain because he hadn’t stayed where he was supposed to be and had decided to go galavanting off to the transporter room.

He rushed out of the room, not paying heed to anyone else. He’d fix this. Somehow. He just had to trust Bridie and the others would fix the life support without him. He’d be of no help with that detail.

He found a level access shaft and punched in a few codes, getting it to open up despite the lockdown. It was nice to know at least a few of his codes still worked. He grabbed onto the bars of the ladder and began his frantic climb, leaving the doors open so the others could easily follow.

After a thought, he discarded any tech that could be used to track his location on the ship. No need to let them know he was on his way.

Mwezi, CTO

William turned to face the Chief Engineer, he didn’t notice the large Tactical Chief disappear “Can you override the life support?” He asked then looked at the transporters themselves “Also is it possible to transport ourselves directly to the bridge?” He asked.
