Snip

Alerts went everywhere and life support was shut down.

Captain Chris Taggart and symbiote CO

Bridie arrived in the transporter room just then. The bellow on her lips bit back with an audible growl. “What in the asteroids..?” She frowned and stepped up to the console with a speed that forced the NE on duty there to almost scramble out of the way. “What have you guys done to my ship?!!!” She was hardly aware of anyone else in the area and immediately looked thru the logs to find out what had happened to cause things to shut down with such a cascade failing of epic proportions.

Mwezi was furious with how helpless this made him feel. What could he do if he wasn’t directly in front of a threat? And this threat was controlling his Captain because he hadn’t stayed where he was supposed to be and had decided to go galavanting off to the transporter room.

He rushed out of the room, not paying heed to anyone else. He’d fix this. Somehow. He just had to trust Bridie and the others would fix the life support without him. He’d be of no help with that detail.

He found a level access shaft and punched in a few codes, getting it to open up despite the lockdown. It was nice to know at least a few of his codes still worked. He grabbed onto the bars of the ladder and began his frantic climb, leaving the doors open so the others could easily follow.

After a thought, he discarded any tech that could be used to track his location on the ship. No need to let them know he was on his way.

William turned to face the Chief Engineer, he didn’t notice the large Tactical Chief disappear “Can you override the life support?” He asked then looked at the transporters themselves “Also is it possible to transport ourselves directly to the bridge?” He asked.

CSO, 2O

The shields up on the Bridge do not allow for transport.

OOC: Unless I missed something, the Engineers are all in engineering. That is why I am trying to get a hold of them on the comms.

((Bridie left engineering when the first ‘crash’ was heard, passed Mwezi and came into the transporter room to see what had happened. So the CE is in the transporter room))

OOC: Okay, I was not sure.

Bridie was already at work on the console trying to override the life support lockdown. As the Chief Engineer, and the lover of the Captain, till recently, she hoped her master override codes were still working. The Captain had told her, less than a week ago, that they would even override his codes in an emergency. She just hoped she could do it now, after having told him it wasn’t necessary to give her such clearances. “I’m working on the life support. We’ll get to the bridge if we can. But I can’t leave the ship to suffocate if I can help it.” She growled and danced her fingers over the console hoping the life support would respond and come back on in the ship.

“Come on, Chris… what are you doing?” She murmured under her breath as she tried to get things to respond to her.

Life support came back on but nothing else worked for the codes. She managed to use it at the right time before Chris saw what was happening. But what remained of Chris was enough to keep life support on for now.

Bridie would notice that there is one Jeffries Tube that will lead to the bridge and it is not blocked by the shields that are up. A design flaw maybe but a fortuitous one. It will bring whomever up behind the helm console by the Main Viewer. If they are human size it will provide cover and concealment.

“Dammit,” Bridie cursed under her breath, but exhaled in a bit of relief. “Ok, so I managed to lock life support on before whoever is doing this figured me out. I have managed to override and change the codes so Life support can’t be shut off again. Unfortunately, it took too long and I can’t get shields down to beam anyone to the bridge.”

She kept her fingers dancing on the console. A moment later, she found the flaw in the jeffries tubes “Wait! I think I have something. There is a hatch under the bridge that’s not part of the closed out system. You will come up behind the helm console by the viewer. If you don’t hop upright right away, you can stay hidden. You should take a phaser, highest stun you can safely use. And hit whoever is controlling this. We need to regain control of the ship before it does more damage.” She was half growling now. Someone had usurped her ship and she wasn’t happy in the slightest.

Mwezi had the ship in his mind, layouts memorized like a steel trap. It was good to know where everything was. Plus, other than his ability to be big and heavy, his memory was one of his only assets. He knew of a few ways into the bridge, but he wasn’t sure which acessways would be open given the current lockdown. He came up under the access shaft behind the helm and checked on it, but didn’t go through. He had the hope that someone else might be able to use that accessway. In the meantime, he slipped around to another, less accessible hatch, and after some fighting with the computer, managed to get through, plan in mind.

Mwezi, CTO

William frowned at the engineer’s suggestion, not that it wasn’t a viable plan but the fact that violence was the only option left him more than a little miffed. It was then that he noticed that Mwezi was gone “We can assume that our security Chief is either already on the bridge or on his way and he’s the only half-decent shot on this ship” He said with the driest possible meaning, even he himself had undergone proper phaser training “Alright” He turned to the first officer “I suggest you and the Chief Engineer set up a secondary Command module in Engineering, I can join our Security chief on the Bridge and attempt to assist, We’ll need to get the Computer to recognize that the Captain has been removed from Command, Doctor Kane might be useful there.” It was then as if something dawned on him “Ah yes, the alien guests, well I don’t know what you want to be done with them, sir, but I suggest leaving them away from anywhere sensitive.”

IC: “I like that suggestion.”

Sideman turned to the Chief Engineer,

“Chief, I think we should go down to engineering and reroute power from the bridge. I also think we should arm ourselves because I am not sure who will be on whose side. But if we don’t get control over this situation, it is going to get out of control” replied Sideman.

While the others decided what to do about the Captain, who was obviously the core of the issue, something dawned on Bridie.

Moving to change channels on the console, she called down to medical. =^=Kane… Doct… Kane!=^= She recalled he hated the medical title and quickly curbed it. =^=Kane, it’s Bridie. Is life support back on for you guys down there? It should be but with half the ship locked down, I didn’t want to assume.=^= Her voice was attempting to be professional, but he’d know her enough to know therewas genuine concern for him, personally, in the query. Gods knew she bothered him enough.

William nodded then turned to one of the Security officers “Alright come with me, I’ll need to get myself a Phaser” He said before turning away and started half jogging in the direction of the Bridge.

CSO, 2O

At the same time–Sideman started to head for Engineering.
